What I've learned so far is that I have without a doubt an anxiety problem. I think I was avoiding facing the truth that I needed help. I thought i could sort it out on my own.

That healing is a choice - and i can chose to stay stuck in misery - or chose to do the hard work and heal.

@Sammie1997 For people who may not know that acronym (I didn't until several years ago), it stands for "Eating Disorder"

I have learned to pause before sending out an email, text or snail mail letter in anger. I used to always have a knee-jerk reaction to perceived wrongs done to me, and I've learned the hard way (too many "burnt bridges") to sit on my response before sending it. I will still often *draft* my response is immediately, but I will wait a day or two first. Then, after I have. Sled down, I will re-read what I wrote (and/or have my partner read it), and usually see some things that show they were written in anger. Only after I've rewritten the document with a clear head will I press "send." Now I have no regrets - at least about the email or text replies or mail that I send!

@Willendorf2017 Good job! That is indeed a good skill to have and that I'm working on too! Sometimes we can say some mean things when bad emotions cloud our judgment, but just a few moments to recompose ourselves and we communicate so much better!
