Just reached step 150! I've learned a lot since I decided to do something about my anxiety and depression, but the most significant and helpful is this. When your mind is in a frenzy and it's asking these questions that you don't want an answer to and when it's saying things that are making you feel depressed or paranoid just say to yourself "shush" over and over just "shhhh". It sounds so insignificant, but if you give power to the shhhh than it's very helpful. I have to say I didn't find this technique on my own. It's actually advise from Chris Evans in an interview where he talks about his anxiety. I recommend the video to everyone. He offers some great advice and ways to cope and temporarily overcome anxiety. I also want to bring attention to a great organization started by Chris Wood that is trying to fight the stigma surrounding mental illness. Please research it, consider donating, and spread the #IDONTMIND on all your social media accounts.

I'm at 100 steps and I've learned that it's important to remember your feelings are valid. I am not broken, I do cope with symptoms but people and situations still Triggered these symptoms and my feelings are valid even if I feel my body's reaction is not.

Sometimes, for me, all it takes to get back on track is opposite action. It is okay to feel and think one way but act in another if it helps me move towards recovery!
