At 140 cups now, I feel like Im in a much better place than I was when I first came here. I feel more optimistic, realistic, and more productive. I can attribute a lot of this to getting my meds straight, solving issues through therapy, and the school year reaching a closing, and I think Im going to stop using 7 cups once I hit 150 because I no longer feel the necessity (also the interface is honestly really annoying). If it turns out I do Ill just continue, but I wish everyone the best in their own problems!

@IndecisiveClementine186 Congrats on reaching step 100! Oh no, I am sure many people cherish you. As Dr. Suess once said, "Be who you are and say what you mean. Because those who mind don't matter and those who matter don't mind."

Thanks for sharing, and keep up the great work!

@lovelyWhisper66

Well then, that means I don

User Profile: lovelyWhisper66
lovelyWhisper66 May 11th, 2018

@IndecisiveClementine186 I am sorry that you take it that way. You do matter to those who truly appreciate you for who you are. I know it is easier said than done, but keeping those people in mind helps in dealing with those who may not be as understanding and supportive. I don't think you are crazy or annoying; your feelings are valid. :)

I admire your persistence, and staying true to yourself is admirable and never easy to do. If you ever need someone to talk to, the listeners are here for you. Best wishes!

I've learned that taking small moments for yourself, like doing a couple of the growth path steps can be really helpful. Picking up one good habit can lead to others, which has been my experience so far.

Not my own milestone, but someone else's that made me smile today. My best friend was asked to prom and I'm really happy for her. She's been through a lot of difficult emotional issues including suicide attempts and self-harm, and she struggles with depression and anxiety, so I try everything I can to encourage her to find non-harmful ways of relieving her stress. She used to be very socially anxious so it's great to see the she's getting out of her shell. She's one of the smartest, kindest people I've ever known and she has a lot of potential, and she's the most supportive friend I've ever had. It makes me happy to finally see things improving for her.

@SilverRedd7 Awww, you are such a wonderful friend, and your friend is so lucky to have you around. She sounds like a very strong individual, and I share your joy. Thanks so much for sharing, and I hope things continue to go well for the two of you. :)

@lovelyWhisper66

Thank you :) She is strong, and I know that, but she herself often forgets that. But I've told her that I'm happy to check on her and I know that she appreciates it. There are plenty of times she's been there for me too, so it's mutual. Just out of curiosity, and to spark a philosophical conversation yesterday, I asked her why she thinks we've been such close friends for so long, especially since she's 4 years younger than me. She couldnt come up with a clear answer, but she said "I just know that I wouldnt be as invested in helping you if I was just being kind out of courtesy. It might take a lot but I really do believe in you". Nobody else has ever said that to me. Part of why I'm on 7cups is to find ways to make this friendship last as long as possible, especially since I'm not always sure of how to help her during her very dark times.

@SilverRedd7 Wow, it sounds like you two really have a strong connection! Indeed, some things are just hard to put into words. I really value your efforts to maintain the friendship! If you haven't already, feel free to check out the relationships community which features a category on friendships for resources, input from others, and more; you can find it here.

Best wishes to you both, and thanks so much for the response! I believe you two will be friends for a very long time. :D
