Forgiving Ourselves
The path to forgiveness is never easy, especially when the person youre trying to forgive is yourself.
As Steve Maraboli quotes, The truth is, unless you let go, unless you forgive yourself, unless you forgive the situation, unless you realize that the situation is over, you cannot move forward.
How often do you forgive yourself for the mistakes you did or you think you did?
What do you think makes it so hard for us to forgive ourselves and others?

How often do you forgive yourself for the mistakes you did or you think you did?
Sometimes I do and sometimes I dont. I feel that sometimes I should have known better and because I made a mistake it is my fault but on the other hand I do sometimes realize thatit is not my fault....and I can say- oh well- learned something new.
What do you think makes it so hard for us to forgive ourselves and others?
For me it is the attachment I develop and have a hard time letting go of.
What are few things that can help you in the path of self forgiveness?
Letting go of expectations and relaizing that if we make a mistake we can learn from it andd correct ourselves.

I think may also to much atached..but idk how to let it go...weel idk is it always such bad...it makes as humans...thought idk in ideal world I would just trust myself...I think you're realy breave that you can relaze that and want to change :D...
@conscientiousPineapple1782 Thank you! I agree with you...it is part of life and makes us human. Mistakes are a way we learn in life...they are not bad...only problematic if we don't learn from them and keep repeating them. But we are all on our own path and at our own place on the path :)
I have a lot of love and then again I have a dark side I can't shake. I have some grit and power left in me. I'm the quiet before the storm. Seems all negative then again I see the beauty in things. So once this all rolls over the end might be my beginning.
Forgiving myself for not appreciating myself enough and all the pain I have put myself through.
1) I don’t forgive myself for the mistakes I make. I beat myself up because I wish I could have reacted or made a better decision in that situation of the time. Sometimes I believe my mistakes are unforgivable. 2) Not accepting my mistakes makes it hard to forgive myself and others. I guess sometimes I wish I could had fixed what has happen. Even when I do take accountability, I still feel like I can’t change or stop it from happening. 3) Accepting that I can’t control the outcome of the situation, but I can control my reaction. Thinking before I speak and understanding my emotions towards a situation. Also acknowledging how I feel and not letting my emotions control my thinking. Know that mistakes are learning lessons in life.
@River

How often do you forgive yourself for the mistakes you did or you think you did? I think that I always try to forgive myself for times that I have messed up, but I do not think it really works well.
What do you think makes it so hard for us to forgive ourselves and others? At least for me, I feel that if I do not still feel negative feelings towards situations, I do not learn from them.
What are few things that can help you in the path of self forgiveness? I think I need to realize that dwelling on the past is not going to help me move forward.
How often do you forgive yourself for the mistakes you did or you think you did?
I have trouble with mistakes because they trigger me to feel shame. But forgiving myself in the past is a bit easier for me. I tell myself I did the best I could at the time with the knowledge, experiences and insights I had at that time. And when I know more - I do better. Though, it is hard to do self forgiveness of myself in the past when its mixed in with core beliefs about what I feel needs to be forgiven.
What do you think makes it so hard for us to forgive ourselves and others?
I forgive others, and myself, but it is like i hang onto it at the same time - like somehow its is honoring my pain but all it is really doing is keeping me attached to the pain and not being able to move forward or even be truly present with that person i have half forgiven.
What are few things that can help you in the path of self forgiveness?
self compassion, thinking analytically without the shroud of emotions that change up my perspective, questioning core beliefs that I have about not being good enough to forgive or such and such is my fault when it is not, and lots and lots of accepting love from others.
