A little story of encouragement
So in my country we have a website similar to a m a z o n - basically for buying stuff - its not as efficient though.
Last month I ordered a product and they sent me a wrong item and wouldnt refund even though they have a refund policy .... now the price of the item wasnt a lot... maybe an equivalent of $5 ... it wasnt worth fighting with them about it. It would be a waste of energy. yet it really effected me that I couldnt get something so small fixed in my life, how would i do anything big?... and hence i decided to take up this battle.
For 3 weeks I pursued the matter. Made repeat calls, emailed, contacted chat agents - discussed, explained, intimidated for legal action etc - nothing worked. They were adamant on their way.
So I decided to leave them a final email and if it didnt work id drop the matter. I told them I had filed a legal case against them and they should be getting the papers soon.
(Truth: I hadnt filed any case although I had considered the option in my mind).
Anyway - the same day I got a call for them that they would refund me.
I was surprised.
Reasoning doesnt work in all situations, instilling fear does! Unfortunate , we have to take such strategies in life but what is the alternative if not that.. i wonder.
Anyway - I really felt glad about this victory of mine. Not about the petty amount. But the fact that I could achieve something if I set my mind to it. I could take up a bigger fight of justice in the future and ace it. This little tale boosted my confidence. It signified to me that luck could easily go in my favor if I had the right cause and was perisistent in working on it. The purpose for which I had taken up the battle of having confidence in myself was accomplished.
I just wanted to share this tale with you to encourage you to believe in your power. Because thats what I found through my experimenting.

I truly agree with this statement. I remember having lost about $2 to my go-to grocery store around COVID. Unfortunately the situation wasn't in favour of any of the two parties so I had to let it go. But I'm so glad you stood your ground and fought for what you deserved - less or more.
@Creamyyy I'm glad it worked in your favor. I know 5 dollars isn't much but it's the point of it. There's probably been quite a few people that they've done this to.
Good job on not letting them bully you away from it!
I mean, unfortunately it's true. Reasoning and understanding don't work if someone else is out to rip you off, etc.
I have a similar story in a way... Basically we needed something done on our home, we were going through the details with the repairman in person. I took a copy of the real contract, and he tried to forge our signature on a fake one for $8k worth of extra work. When I provided proof to the company, they dropped it immediately and I think the guy got fired. Some people just really are out to get you, and a lot of companies aren't much better in their policies
I really love this!! Thanks so much for sharing…in my depression/anxiety handling such tasks feel like a mountain. Helps to anchor in on that tenacity and creative problem solving! I agree about the instilling fear piece being a shame ; but after legit attempts to connect are ignored, it gets the job done! Thanks for the inspiration! 👏❤️

If we don't advocate for ourselves, who else will? 💖
