I went to college!
@GreenLime3141 Hi! May I know how was your experience? Or if you have any suggestion on how colleges should work?
I do have a suggestion that, if possible, people should have several jobs before they go to college so they know they are studying the right major for them.
My experience was good in some ways and okay in other ways. College is really fun because you are around so many people your age, but if you don’t apply yourself and work hard, you are not going to get good grades.
I think colleges should put a lot less pressure on students.
I'm currently a junior in high school and have been really stressed about my extracurriculars. I constantly think if I'm not enough for the schools I want to go to. NYU is my dream school, and I've been comparing my extracurriculars to those who got in, and I'm worried that mine is not enough....
Best of luck. I’m 27 now. I did get into nyu in the past. The most, renown college, to accept me ☺️. But it, also depends regarding, what major you seeking. Some majors, are more demanding than others. While, due to overall cost, I chose to attend a state school and was able to dorm at a fraction of the price. Furthermore, my family also, reminded as, I planned to study law. Applying again for law school. Have you visited nyu campus? I did, apply into the liberal arts, I believe or arts and sciences. But, I lacked leadership roles, aside from editor of school newspaper. But did have clubs, under my belt and a part time job. And honors society too.
I have an unusual story. But I want to learn more about, college students, pursing school. After, major stresses in life. I was diagnosed, with depression, my sophomore year of college. But really, struggled with oversleeping from my senior year, of high school. I had to withdraw mid semester during my sophomore year and move back home. I’m not sure, but also bad professionals accompanied by mediation, when I had never taken anything close to before. But, I’m close to fishing my bachelors now at 27, with very little to no debt. Compared, to my classmates, although they are working in their professed careers. But, many people around me, coworkers and former acquaintances, just bring me down, at times. I get it, life after college and high school is different. Bills to pay, grueling workdays, but overall. I really want, to hear from others with similar stories to mine. In addition, dealing with overbearing families. Both, my parents have struggled with the English language and heavily relied on my sister and I to translate. Aside, from making life and school more difficult, how do I navigate? It’s weird, a lot of people with similar backgrounds like mine, I feel I relate to but really let me down and made me feel bad for, wanting my own life and distance from my family.
I wonder if college life is hard or normal.
I heard many students have to deal with finances, housing, and schooling. About pressure with friends and studying.
But, I also heard that life on college is messy, loud, but fun. !(•̀ᴗ•́)و ̑̑
