Day 2 Tuesday - Connect and Appreciate (list 1-5)
I made a forum post to connect and appreciate one of my teammates in another thread.
I have upvoted all posts in the current thread for the Kindness Challenge.
I connected with and appreciated a teammate by providing peer support through a difficult moment. I showed them how much I appreciated them for being a part of the team by hanging in there with them to provide support and options for something that is a "hot button" issue. Listener retention efforts! They are worth it, every minute of the support!
I'd like to publicly appreciate, acknowledge and show gratitude to/for @Sunthruclouds for their impeccable teamwork efforts in the LSR the other day. Kindness matters and they sure do show a great deal of it. Not only were they a cheerful receiver, they were also a cheerful giver.
The room was busy. They had multiple questions as did others. They were kind, patient, asked for support and while waiting for their questions to be answered they showed impeccable leadership qualities by greeting others entering the room, helped to keep the room welcoming, warm, inclusive and supportive.
It was a beautiful thing to witness how they were highly aware of their surroundings, noticed how fast the room was moving and that there was one person answering the questions of many. We as listeners are asked to have empathy and compassion for our members. Of course! It's another thing to see a listener having the where with all and ability to translate that to Listener to Listener interactions. ✨
Thank you @Sunthruclouds! ❤️ You encouraged me and I'm most grateful for you! ❤️ You have no idea how much it meant to me in that moment for you to say kind things to me, to notice that I was trying. Thank you for your selflessness, for sticking around and providing me with positive affirmations for my efforts well after your questions were answered. Pretty amazing leadership skills that you exhibited. Thank you for being such a great example to others!
And for #5. I nominated you, @Sunthruclouds for our "Encourager badge". It's for being extra encouraging to your teammates and you only need 10 nominations from your fellow listeners to receive that brand new, shiny badge.
*high fives* 😊 and *hugs* ❤️
@SparkyGizmo
Oh wow. Gizmo. 💞 I feel very moved by your kind words, it makes my heart very very happy to read this. ❤️ I feel seen, valued and appreciated. This was very unexpected and a happy surprise. Thank you truly for making my day, I will carry these words with me for a long time and use it as inspiration and motivation when needed. It means the world to me. 💕💕✨️
Thank you SO much for the nomination. If you only knew how you have impacted me today. You deserve an award for kindness. 🌺❤️ *hugs*

Kindness shown to myself today:
1. Washed my bedding and made my bed 🛌. It just feels absolutely amazing having a freshly made bed with nice, warm sheets from out the dryer.
2. Told myself I am beautiful.
3. Told myself "I love you, Desiree." ❤️
4. Recognized some of the good qualities that I love about myself.

My log for yesterday. Wednesday 12/2 Day 3.
Reflect and Inspire/Connect and Appreciate:
I shared my gratitude and joy on the "Good News" wall and appreciated my fellow listeners.
Share your skills:
A few of us at the LSR, shared some valuable insights that have been helpful for us on our listener journey, with a new listener.
@Sunthruclouds
Hi Sun! 😊 ❤️
Fantastic contributions! Well done my friend! 😊 ❤️
Day 3 Wednesday - Share your skills (1-3)
After nominating a teammate for a new badge, I jumped right back in, shared my skills with them. I taught them that yes, they too can nominate well deserving teammates for unique badges. Definite ripple effect which is a concept that I have held strong to.
In real life, I have supported/helped an entrepreneur with their start up for about 4 years now. They were presented with a unique situation this past week which involved a piece of legislation that was put in place. Created a bit of a "speed bump" for them and they were taken by surprise. They asked and so I walked them through how to best address the situation.
Even with out that issue, the changes I proposed would be needed based on other factors that they hadn't considered. Somewhat of a pre- emptive measure that could have been done, that would appear negligible to the consumer however, profitable.
The piece of legislation was rescinded in a matter of days. One never knows if it will be reapplied and if it is, no worries for them now as the changes that I suggested have been made. Ta-dah! 💡Smooth sailing now and nothing but blue skies ahead!
A teammate wanted to know how Listener actions are quantified by the platform and specifically in relation to the LSR. Knowledge of this is fantastic as then one can monitor their own progress and a sort of "tracker" that is already done for them by 7 cups! Thank you 7 cups! ❤️ You rock! 😊
I'll leave the information here as I have a busy day ahead and I still will make my way around to pm's to follow up when I get the chance...
1 Listener group chat would be the equivalent of 25 responses from the listener in the LSR (or LCR when opened).
Said listener would want to remain in the LSR, not leave the room in between if they would like 1 complete chat to register on their profile page. If a listener remains in the room, provides 25 responses, the listener behavior is tracked, computed and applied to ones stats on their profile page.
Weeeeeeeeeeee-weeeeeeeee! 😊
*high fives* 😊 and *hugs* ❤️

Hi Sun! 😊 ❤️
Day 4 Thursday - Support a Cause (1-3) (catching up today for listing as these have been long established)
Currently I support quite a few causes. I do my best to share my time, treasures and/or talents. 💫
I support 7 cups and I believe in it's mission.
I support St. Judes Children's Hospital. This is a place where children receive treatment, free of charge. Charitable donations are used to provide children with some of the best of the best treatment, something that their families may not have been able to afford otherwise. Charitable donations are also used to provide housing for the child's family members locally while children are hospitalized.
I have supported an entrepreneur for over 4 years now with their start up. I provided the "seed money" and have been paid back every cent. I believed in them and they have proven me right, that they are a good one to believe in! They have listened to me and very carefully. Reduce your costs, increase your revenue and there in lies your profit margin. One way to increase your revenue is through diversification and gaining more of that market share. They have been a perfect example of this and have done this 3 times over with diversification. Market share they have! I shared with them the basics, but they found the ways of how to do it, that was a good fit for them.
Even Kindergarten teachers use the concept of "play and walk away"! I can learn from anyone and everyone that I meet and so I try. I played and walked away (a bit). Play, teach them how to play well with others and then walk away and see how it is that they adjust. I'm now simply a sounding board for them, tossing around ideas and brainstorming if they need. I sit on the board of Directors for them and am simply available for them at this point.
I work in my local community and support food drives for food pantries, coat drives in the cold months, book bag drives for children that need book bags and school supplies.
I guess the easiest one of all is by me donating to Good Will. I make sure anything that I donate is clean, something that another would truly want as it's not charitable if it's broken, stained, ruined.
*high fives* 😊 and *hugs* ❤️
@SparkyGizmo thank you Gizmo. we are grateful to you how generously you share your time, treasures, and talents with us. High fives and hugs right back at you! You're making a real difference. 😊❤️

Since my birthday is coming up, I decided to give my friends and classmates a crochet bracelet and a chocolate. This is just one of my ideas since I know how to crochet.

Hi Sun! 😊 ❤️
Day 5 Friday - Kindness to yourself (1-5)
Kindness and self care I gave to myself through out the week:
2 days of hot bubble baths with a bath fizzie instead of just a quick shower.
Had a nice exfoliating face mask to slough off the dead skin cells. "I feel pretty, oh so pretty" 🎶 lol 😊
Took a needed nap one day this week...
"Dear Night Time Sleep,
While it has been noted that you are quite the prankster, I'm simply not amused. Robbing me of 3 hours one night will do you no good. I have the power of the nap in my arsenal (or going to bed early the next night) and I'm not afraid to use it. I will thwart your efforts at every twist and turn.
In the words of the great Bernadette from The Big Bang Theory "Come at me, see what happens". 😁 We have ways of dealing with you. Muuuuhaahaah.
Regards,
Giz "
Had lots of extra fruits and veggies this week.
Re-organized 3 rooms that had gotten a bit out of whack from me being so busy as of late. Ahhhh, that feels better.
Adding a 6th as it is the one daily constant...lighting a richly scented candle at the end of a long day as a reward and to help to transition to relaxation mode.
*high fives* 😊 and *hugs* ❤️
@SparkyGizmo seems like you have been wonderfully kind to yourself this week, Sparky. You deserve all the self-care. ❤️
@SparkyGizmo
You've been showing yourself a lot of kindness. Hot bubble baths, sounds so nice and relaxing. ❣️
I like the "lighting a candle at the end of a long day to help to transition to relaxation mode". Now I want to do that too. 💕✨️
Thank you so so much for joining me in this challenge, its been really fun reading your updates. I totally got behind and didn't accomplish something every day, but I did my best and it's been a good way to be more conscious about self-care and those every day little things we can do for others, that doesn't take much time but gives so much joy to someone else. 🌸🌺🩷
