Positive Reframing Station
Are you bored and wanting to work on yourself? Let's reframe some thoughts in a fun way!
I'll start with a thought to reframe. Then the next person reframes it, and provides another negative thought.
The next person reframes THAT negative thought, and then writes out the next negative thought. Okay?
Alright I'll start. The first thought to reframe is "They/he/she abandoned me, don't love me."
🍒😃
@Dallady
Sounds fun!
Hmm let’s try: “Just because they haven’t had time for me, it doesn’t mean they don’t love me.”
Second thought: “I should be further along in my life by now.” 💜
Super innovative! I love the positive approach ❤️
Reframe: "Any progress I've already made is a step in the right direction toward the future I want."
How about: "I will never be good enough to succeed."
@PeacefulDreamer0606
"Today I feel frustrated. But I am sure even the most successful people have days like this. I will do the best I can and do something rewarding later.
@Seacu (TW I guess, whatever this is?)
"I would like to crawl back into my mothers womb, shrink to become a fetus again, an embryo and finally seperate back into the egg and the sperm and let another one fertilize so that I will undo my existence peacefully and for good"
@Seacu
Oh maybe I fix it myself: "Still that baby will have my mothers and my fathers breath inside of it and in that way it will be like part of me is in there too and so there is no undoing whatsoever, also that is impossible. There is no other choice then to embrace the condition of being alive as good as I can"
I give you something more normal: "I am a burden to everybody"
You are not a burden to everyone because, after all, you don't know everyone. Now do you? :) You are worthy, beautiful, strong, deserving, and valuable! You are not a burden to me nor do you bother me. I love you and accept you as you are.
How about--- Why can't I just be like everyone else? 🙄
Thanks so much everyone for joining in!
You all did great.
I'll jump back in with the reframe for CaringConfidant's answer and how about adding another level to the game?
"Why can't I be like everyone else" 🙄
"Why can't I be like myself" 🤔
Now when you add a turnaround, also add a corresponding affirmation;
"I'm a smart and talented go-getter"
👌
"I can't dig myself out of this hole..."
Okay, actually that last reframe I posted sounds too much like a negative affirmation so instead I'll post this one for a turnaround and positive affirmation...
"If I don't return these library books in time I'll be in huge trouble because it means I'm a bad person and am already bad for being so lame as to have to 'rent' my books instead of just buying them like a boss. God I suck!"
That one is pretty long and tricky so let's see if someone can find a reframe and corresponding positive affirmation😊 😊 😊
@Dallady Returning your library books doesn't make you a bad person... it just makes you that-- a person. ;) If you want to avoid the books being late, just call and recheck the books out to extend the time. And you are not less than because you have to rent/borrow your books in stead of purchasing them. Libraries exist for that reason. Hope you had an amazing read with those books! :)
@YourCaringConfidant
That's more of a response than a reframe, and I would be cautious with the assumption that someone hadn't already maxed out their book re-knewals.
I was looking for something more along the lines of:
"A late or overdue library book may feel terrible right now, but in the grand scheme of things it isn't that bad."
With an affirmation that could be:
"I've made it this far, I've done a lot."
@Dallady I guess I don't understand how to play the game. Nevermind. 🤣 I also didn't know there was a max you could renew a book.
@YourCaringConfidant
Meh! It was kind of a supportive reframe and positive reinforcement and affirmation all mixed up into one delicious little biscuit, which I think actually might deserve bonus points. What do you think? I think YES, and also now have biscuits on the mind - so bonus points for that too...mmm
Or you know what we don't even have to keep going because that was an awesome game; you showed great examples of the power of reframing, positive self talk and compassion!
I give you all gold stars!!! ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️
But why not?
I give a new promt:
"I have so much trouble and this day is going to be terrible I rather stay in bed"
You all did you easily Reframing the sentence. Can you give tips what you kept in mind while doing. I won't be able to do so fast .
