Things People Who Love Canoeing/Kayaking Wish You Knew
If this is part of your life story, please share your insights! What would you like the rest of us to learn? What should we know about people in this community? How would you like people to interact with you? Should people ask questions? What’s the best way for people to learn about this? Do you have any resources (books, movies, YT videos, etc) that will give us greater understanding and empathy and kindness toward people who experience the same things you do?
If you’re not on this journey, we welcome you to listen, learn, and ask respectful, good-faith questions! Open-ended questions are highly encouraged, as they give people the space to share their unique experiences in their own words. While this is a safe space to learn about things you’ve never experienced, please remember to be sensitive, and avoid sharing harmful stereotypes or debating someone's lived reality. If you have a question, ask it with empathy. If someone gently corrects you, please be open to learning. Let's have a gentle, fun, friendly conversation where we support one another, because it takes all sorts to make a world!

I’m adding a taglist to start, but this post is open to absolutely everyone! <3
@jesusredeemedme2425 thanks for tagging me 💗
Canoeing is a ton of fun, but it’s SO hard on your arms! Painful eventually lol
@jesusredeemedme2425
I went kayaking and the burn in the arms is real! Lol tho I imagine I had it pretty easy with a light weight streamlined for speed kayak, it made it take less effort but still after awhile it's tiring. The most annoying part for me was the water dripping on to me and soaking my legs (cuz I didn't have a seal thing for the kayak and something broke on the paddle so it just dripped down the handle the whole time T - T lol
I was just like stuck in the middle of a lake (not a big one), and just like, ugh. I’m in pain and STILL have to paddle to get back to shore. Or else I’m stuck here in a canoe in the middle of a lake XD
That is why I always kayak in a narrow river and streams with 2mph or sometimes 3mph(its alitle difficult to manage uptream but really fun downstream)currents 👻
@jesusredeemedme2425
I'm so dumb 😭, i don't know what Canoeing is 。:゚(;´∩`;)゚:。

It’s like paddling around in a little boat by yourself (or with a friend), with oars that have paddles on one side <3
Not dumb! <3
Kayaking with a friend is a wonderful experience if you like the silence and just want to hear the wild.👻
A warning though.you should have some prier practice and also kayak in a recomended streams and rivers(small ones are the best🤔) because once me and two of my cusins tried a beautiful stream which had alot of beautiful site alongside it.the worst part was that it was very shallow(first warning),had irragular stone dams(made by kids for pool making😅) so we would have to stop frequently(warning number 2 and annoying as ***😭) and very slow current(3rd warning and again,annoying as *** if you like it fast🤧).
@curiousbookishness Thank you for sharing with us 💖🥰
