What are your tips for coping with the colder months? 💛
Hello everyone!
Please share all your little (or not-so-little) tricks for surviving autumn and winter! The cold, rain, humidity, gray skies, fewer colours in nature, lack of sunshine, shorter days, and the long nights. It all takes a big toll on me.
I already struggle with mental health issues year-round, and every year this season makes things even harder and more depressing for me. This time, I really want to be prepared and hope it affects me as little as possible
Thank you so much if you’re willing to share your tips in the comments on what helps you cope with the season, even the smallest ones might help someone ✨

I like to layer up, love wooly, fleece jumpers.
Love a hot water bottle.
Cozy evenings, warm fire, movie, good snacks.
Taking some vitamins.
It's a really my favourite time of the year 💜💕
@Amanda84 Thank you!

A pleasure 💜
This!!!
And don’t forget hot chocolate (with all the toppings! Marshmallows, extra chocolate chunks/chips, candy canes or crushed peppermint!!)
Also, make some art (coloring, watercolor, drawing, etc.) Go outside and collect leaves. Build a pillow and blanket fort. Listen to lofi or classical music at a cafe. Give thanks and connect with those you love!! 💗

Wonderful suggestions 💖
@xsoupyplants12 Love this- and I feel hungry now 😄

Same here, I also struggle with seasonal changes, also with the sun setting so soon because of winter time.
I always like to cuddle in my heavy blankets for comfort, with some tv series or a book. Tea is also a must!
I also like to swim during these months and then soak in the hot bubble pool they have nextdoor 😊
What do you like to do during these months?

@StarlightEma Thank you!
Sorry that you’re struggling with that too. For me, during those months I don’t remember what I enjoyed doing, I just remember that it makes my depression worse, so I’m looking for some strategies ahead of time. I’ll keep posting in this thread about what I’m planning and what I find helpful
@whimsyLeaf7957
I understand what you mean by that, when we get depressed it's harder to remember what we normally enjoy. Do you know which months are the hardest for you?
I will be looking forward to the strategies you find helpful ☺️
This isn’t so much a mental health helper, yet it always makes me happy and helps me smile!
I like to keep my home fairly cool, and have lots of soft, warm blankets on my bed with really good, soft yet crisp, quality sheets. So when I get in bed and snuggle under the covers, I feel so warm, cozy and snuggled that even if my Husband isn’t there to give me a hug, I still feel like I’m getting a big hug anyway!
Told you it wasn’t really mental health, although a big hug always helps my mental health! No matter what season. In the Spring and Summer I have different sheets and blankets too.
Every house we have bought I’ve learned that a very large linen closet has become a requirement!
I used to love somewhere cold, and while i dont remember much of it, I know i loved it. Some things i would to do stay warm, cozy and happy are snuggling with pets or family, drinking hot cocoa with marshmallows, spending a lot of time with people i love, going to aquariums and museums, and going for walks, watching the leaves fall
Lots of jackets and a mini heater hehe
@whimsyLeaf7957 An oversized hoodie, fluffy socks, and my laptop overheating while playing the Sims 4 in bed works well to keep me warm 🤣
Ooh, I forgot fuzzy socks! <3
