What are your tips for coping with the colder months? 💛
Hello everyone!
Please share all your little (or not-so-little) tricks for surviving autumn and winter! The cold, rain, humidity, gray skies, fewer colours in nature, lack of sunshine, shorter days, and the long nights. It all takes a big toll on me.
I already struggle with mental health issues year-round, and every year this season makes things even harder and more depressing for me. This time, I really want to be prepared and hope it affects me as little as possible
Thank you so much if you’re willing to share your tips in the comments on what helps you cope with the season, even the smallest ones might help someone ✨

To prepare for the cold months ahead, I suggest stocking up on as many long-sleeved shirts, socks, beanies, undershirts, jackets, sweatpants, and sweaters as possible. Invest in a heater, and try to park as close to your destination as possible! I really don't like being cold, especially since I'm anemic, so I stay with a heater lol.

I have some things that might help:
1. Layer warm clothes rather than wearing a big/thick thing. Layers help keep the warmth in. That is sometimes the one thing that sails the ship itself.
2. Cover your ears, feet, hands ... and you will see a major difference. Cold" tends to enter through these points in the body (according to holistic medicine, and also, my grandma)
3. Sleep early. I am starting to think that we should probably mirror the nature's ways much more than we do. And if I go by that, I would rest and catch up on my sleep and repair. Hibernation-adjacent stuff. (Maybe it was supposed to be a relaxation period?)
4. If you live in windy places - cover your head and ears - even if it is not chilly. Trust me. The wind is a surprisingly strong factor than we feel.
5. (Again grandma rule:) Gargle with warn water. Great if you add salt to it. Helps.
Hope this made sense !
Coffee is huge for me! It helps pull me out of slumps, and I like the warmth. I also find hot cocoa and warm apple cider to be helpful (not together though)
Exercise is a big one! I like to walk in the morning (often to get coffee heh) but sometimes that's not possible. Doing some bodyweight exercises help, like squats or tricep presses outta my chair.
Sunlight, I'm told, is also important. This is the hardest one in cold months. Gazing out a window or just standing outside for a bit can help. Vitamin D supplements can also help and, if you get the gummies, can be an extra bit of fun in the morning!
Hope these help, and good luck! Don't forget that we're here for you if you need a space to vent/talk 🦜
@whimsyLeaf7957 I like to wear warm clothes, a beanie and be around nature, especially near a lake or large pond, and in large green forests or parks. If it's raining, I can take an umbrella and if it's been snowing, a scarf, gloves and a beanie hat 💛

Kind of a weird one, but thick or fuzzy socks. When it's cold outside and my feet are just that much warmer or comfier, I feel less cold in general! Hope this helps <3
