What would your message be? 🤔

For many of us Christmas is about excitement and festive cheer and we look forward to it!

But let's be mindful, for many people it's a time of loss.

Some people have no one to share it with.

Some people have no home.

Some people have no gifts to give or to receive.

Some people have no Christmas dinner.

Some people feel saddened by decorations and Christmas trees.

Christmas songs make them cry.

Some people want the festive period to go by in a flash!

So what would your message be to anyone struggling with the pressure of not liking the festive season?

@Amanda84 You're so kind 💗

My message is :

You'll make it through. I know you will because you always have. No matter how hard it felt, how slow the day went, it still ended. Just hold on for now 💕

Reach out if you need to. Close the windows if the outside feels too cold but keep the porch light on when it's night. It can be a guide for others who are struggling too.

Hey Amanda.

I think I would tell them that it is completely okay to let themselves feel whatever pulls at them. If the world feels heavy, they can sink into whatever brings them comfort and let themselves open up to the parts of life that make them feel alive. Even if it is messy or wild or a little bold. The season can be whatever they need it to be and they deserve to feel free in their own skin. ❤️

@Amanda84 If Christmas is hard for you, please know that you’re not broken or ungrateful — you’re human 🫶🙂 Not everyone carries joy this season, and that’s okay 😔 Your feelings are valid, whether you’re grieving, lonely, overwhelmed, or simply tired of the pressure to feel happy 🥺 You don’t owe anyone cheer, celebration, or explanations 😌 Take the days at your own pace .Rest when you need to 😴 Protect your peace where you can 😊 And remember, this season will pass — just like the heavy feelings will, little by little 🥹 You are not alone, even when it feels that way 🤗💗

My message would be: It’s okay if Christmas doesn’t feel joyful for you. You don’t have to force cheer or match the mood around you. Your feelings—whether sadness, grief, loneliness, or simply indifference—are valid. The season doesn’t define your worth, and you don’t owe anyone celebration. Instead, give yourself permission to move through these days at your own pace: rest when you need to, protect your peace, and find small comforts that feel genuine to you. Even if the world seems wrapped in lights and carols, you are not alone in feeling differently. This time will pass, and so will the heaviness, little by little.

My message would be: “If you’re finding this season heavy, please know you’re not alone. For some, Christmas brings loss, loneliness, or painful reminders. For others, it can feel isolating because they come from different cultures, celebrate other holidays like Hanukkah, Kwanzaa, Winter Solstice, and many other different cultural and religious observances worldwide or simply don’t connect with Christmas at all. The way Christmas dominates public spaces can make those who don’t celebrate feel invisible or excluded. Your feelings are valid—whether you’re grieving, overwhelmed, or just wishing the season away. You don’t need to force cheer or fit into traditions that don’t resonate with you. Instead, honor your own rhythm, find small comforts that feel authentic, and remember that your presence and your story matter, even if they don’t match the mainstream holiday narrative.”
