What Represents Positivity Best? π
Hey everyone,
I wanted to start a quick discussion on what you think best represents positivity. Positivity can mean different things to different people, and it's fascinating to hear different perspectives. So, let's share our thoughts and insights!
It could be anything that brings a smile to your face, lifts your spirits, or fills your heart with joy. Whether it's a favourite quote, a cherished memory, a beloved pet, a hobby, or even a song that never fails to boost your mood β we want to hear all about it!
Looking forward to your contributions!! π

@Mya000
This is such an awesome prompt, positivity can indeed look different for different people.
I feel, for me, I'd consider someone positive if I see them being resilient, hopeful and optimistic despite any difficult situations they are in.
Other times, it's so hard to point out exactly, but some people are simply so full of warmth and light, their very aura too, is positive and extremely uplifting, even if they aren't really doing something or something "positive". Like you'd see such a person or be around one and feel so much better already! Just some special beings haha!
Gotta mention though, positivity doesn't mean "You'll have only good days and you are supposed to be happy 247 no matter what", rather, for me, it means "You have the ability to acknowledge that the current situation/ thoughts/ feelings you have aren't *you*, you have the power to hold yourself together, allow yourself to feel your emotions, knowing and believing in yourself that you'll get through every moment, that you have room for hope and space for welcoming the idea of something 'good' for yourself. Remembering every dark night has an end and there's a sunny day to welcome you, if you hold yourself through the night." π
How about you?πΈ
@Sunisshiningandsoareyou Thank you so much for sharing your thoughts on positivity! I completely agree with you. Positivity is indeed subjective and can manifest in various ways for different people, and is not solely defined by constant happiness.
When I think of positivity, I see summer, sunshine, bright colours... The beauty of life! And also the love and support we can have with each other. π·
@Mya000 That's a lovely way to look at it also!π»

Youre welcome
To me, positivity means having a cheerful outlook and attitude, even when things aren't going well. I try to practice gratitude every day by either writing out a short list of things that I'm grateful for in my journal or just thinking about things that I'd put on that list. I try to remember that, as bad as things may seem, I still have a lot of basic things that every person should have but don't, including a home, food to eat and clean water to drink. When I think of those things - that people don't have these essential things - I can't help but be grateful for all that I have, even in the face of adversity.
@Mya000
Positivity is a subjective term to different individuals. It's also a matter of how we perceive the circumstances and our tendency to react to those. For some positivity may be the path and for others the goal. However, to me it is the peace of mind.

@trueconfidant123 Absolutely, positivity is indeed a unique concept for each person. I love how you've captured its essence for you as a state of peace of mind π«Ά Thank you for sharing! (and for this lovely GIF!)

@Mya000 thank youuu
Positiivity for me means being able to look forward with an accepting attitude. It means being hopeful and optimistic. Naturally positive people are able to bring positivity to the people around them. I think it overall creates a better world. Keep spreading positivity!
I live in an area that contains a lot of people who are either precariously housed or unhoused (and living in the park near me). I think what represents positivity is smiling, making eye contact and saying "Hi" to these individuals; I think it makes them feel seen and not invisible. Most often, the other person smiles, returns the eye contact and says "Hi" back, which, in turn, makes me feel more positive, that such a seemingly little thing can connect me to another person at the most basic level: as fellow humans just trying to get through this life, same as me :)
