Christmas gift box donations
Hey everyone,
The end of November is approaching, and with it comes time for Christmas charity donations. I always wanted to participate in one, and finally got to do it this year by building my own gift box, and so I want to encourage all of you to open your hearts this season for those who need it, if you have the chance and feel the calling to do so 😊

What are gift boxes?
They are usually gifts packed in a shoebox in a way to meet the requirement of the charity you donate to. It may contain anything from fun things like toys, books, little trinkets and puzzles to practical things like clothes, non perishable food items or cosmetics, all according to the needs of the project of your choice

Who can you donate to?
There are countless options, often through workplaces, malls or local organizations, that want to bring joy to elderly in retirement homes, kids whose families are living in poverty, or other people who need it. There is a lot of causes out there, all we have to do is pick ours 😊

What should be in a donation box?
No need to worry. These organizations offer a guide to what items/categories a box should contain or what things to avoid, as well as their specific criteria on how to label or pack the gifts. Since the boxes are checked before being given out to the recipients, the organizers will make sure everything is okay with the donation and swap and rebalance items in case your box needs a little help 💖

Why so early?
A lot of gift box charity programs have quite early deadlines for the donations, as they have to check all the boxes and ensure each box contains around the equal amount of presents.

I made mine for seniors in retirement homes, more specifically one for a man because i feel those are harder to make and therefore will be needed more

I just literally went up the town where I live and they have a drop off point for shoe boxes so you inspired me to get moving on them 💖

Ours is for children in deprived countries who don't get presents Christmas day.

@Amanda84 yessss. It's such a great gratitude experience to realise how blessed we are, and how much more we have then many that we take for granted every day. It's a great way to be grateful and spread kindness, joy and hope to those who need it 😊
@sadcat13 every year in A local supermarket they have a toy donation box I always buy toys and my carer drops them off for me💖 because of my saftey situation I can't give monthly donations through bank cards. So this time of year I give my carers money so they can donate a anonymous check to one of the biggest children hospitals in the UK and one to help homeless teens get help💖💖

@sadcat13 This is super duper awesome cat! 💕 Honestly, it brings alot of joy while making those cute giftboxes. I did alot of them when I was on my exchange program abroad and I was in social working class and this was our project. I first thought it was maybe the ritual of the place where I was during the christmas holidays. But it was a rare opportunity for any teacher to let her class, school, and community participate in this wonder. I remember the name of the program, I think it was Operation Christmas Child. It was fun and I was happy the whole time, packing, collecting donations, campaigns, buying goods, and everything. Getting Nostalgic.....😄 Anyway, congrats and so many best wishes for taking this kind initiative! 💗

@sadcat13 We do this for a few people but it's done through the local churches so there's not such a set time limit for them. They're usually given on Christmas Eve. One box is filled with presents for each family member. Useful things like warm clothing but also wrapped toys for any children. Another box contains everything they need to make Christmas dinner.

This post was a sign for me to stop postponing my yearly wardrobe clean and thanks to that I was able to donate a few clothes and books I dont read to my local charity. Thank you !
