@ReservedExcitement Wow, so glad to have come across someone like you!

Thanks
I'm ambidextrous. That's kinda cool, I guess. I was also briefly a quadriplegic so I had to learn to be ambidextrous again in my recovery. I'm not proud of my recovery because I crippled myself and don't deserve any credit. If someone else hurt me to the degree I hurt myself I could never forgive them. I'm a bad person.
@tluper6491 You arent a bad person..

It's not just that, it's also the pain I put my mom through, lashing out at people because I was in pain, stupid or wrong things I've said or done, along with how much I hurt myself and other things. The main thing is a lot of the people I've hurt I have no way to apologize to, and because of that my brain feels like if I can't know if they forgive me, I can't forgive myself because it isn't my forgiveness to give. So the only thing I can do is punish myself. I would never hold anyone else to these standards, but my brain also believes I'm not hurting anyone if it's myself, so every time I make a mistake or say or do something wrong, I obsess over it for years and never forgive myself for it and punish myself endlessly because I feel like I deserve it.

I was told by a psychologist something which helped me to stop feeling similar guilt: You can only be responsible for your own best efforts a the time knowing what you knew at the time; not for other people's reactions to your best efforts. If they don't accept your trying to express remorse or any attempt to make ammends it is their responsibility at that point, not yours. Your forgiveness toward yourself can be given independantly from anyone else's forgiveness toward you.
Here's some more resources if you'd like to learn more about how to either let go of bitterness toward others or to release feelings of guilt. The 7cups guide is first (other guides here are good too especially the introduction 7 Cups for the Searching Soul).

This one take about 14 minutes to get to the point because of relaxation intoduction but after that is a self talk mindfulness recording. https://www.7cups.com/exercises/mindfulness573/
@tluper6491 I think what CoinFountain said was great.. :) I understand your situation.. I'll just want you to consider my friend's words for a moment.. You can reach out to me if you want to talk about any issue :)
@YourFriendforever
Thank you both very much. I really appreciate the advice and I will go through those courses and everything. The site has helped a lot and I've done a couple of the courses already, and I love the mindfulness and breathing exercises, especially because I have severe attention issues and trouble doing those kinds of activities without a guide of some kind. Anyway, thank you again, I really appreciate it.

You are not a bad person! Not one bit. Accidents happen, and some are tragic. It amazes me that you learned to be ambidextrous after temporarily loosing the use of your arms and legs. I don't see it as something bad, as you rose above, and it's proof of your tenasity, perseverance and strength as a person. Not many people have that level of dedication to being well. You are amazing. It doesn't matter how it happened, it's the journey and your current destination. You have a story, not everyone can say. Good work!
:)
I cry easily in front of people I trust, although I have mixed feelings about it. (One of them said it was contagious in that they didn't mind being vulnerable since I beat them to it already....)
