Grieving the loss of a relationship
I almost feel silly to combine greif with something that doesn't involve death...but I've never felt like this over a breakup but I'm experiencing a range of emotions like sadness, anger, regret, and even confusion.
Like I've lost an entire future I looked forward to.
I've been very sad but the sadness is being accompanied but hurt and anger...I wish some things never had happened but then I'm confused on why he made the choice he did when everything was vocalized as going the distance and our life together for the rest of our lives.
It's really tearing me up...I don't understand but the world doesn't stop just because I can't get a grip.
@goldenBranch8894 There is no reason for you to feel silly because you are hurt over the loss of a relationship. Grief does not just deal with losing a loved one to death. You have every right to grieve the loss of the relationship. Afterall, it is a loss. As you mentioned you are losing out of the plans of a future together. When you are with someone for x amount of time and feelings are involved, it's normal to be upset when things don't go as we plan. Feelings and emotions for someone we love don't just cease and end right then and there because the relationship is over. Please take all the time you need to grieve and process what has happened. Please do what you need to in order to cope and heal. I hope you find peace and closure. Sending a great big hug your way. Please take care of yourself. <3 Xoxo.
Thank you so much 🙇♀️
@goldenBranch8894 My pleasure. <3

I felt the same posting my breakup to the grief channel but it really is the death of a relationship and the death of a piece of you. I'm still hurting so badly and I understand. Here to chat
