My chickens are dead.
I'm on holiday. And I've just received a message that all my chickens were killed last night. There's nothing I can do. They are gone.
Trevor, Miniwol, Chopka, Early Bird, Goldie Hawn, and the two rescued old ladies.
I raised them from eggs from their parents. They were more than just chickens. I will miss them.
They are gone.
They were funny. They were naughty. They were clever. They were beautiful. They were greedy. They were each unique.
They were vulnerable. They are gone.
Their house will be empty when I go home.

Oh, I'm sorry, it's a difficult feeling. Losing an animal is very touching in our hearts. Suggest an idea that may help you reduce your grief for them. Try to make their place safe from other animals, and start a new experiment by raising new chicks. You will feel better. Peace fills your heart🕊💐

I am so sorry. That is so, deeply horrible amd traumatic. You have my sincere sorrow.

@Clio9876 I’m so very sorry. I lost my entire little flock to Marek’s disease last year. They truly do have little personalities and can be so kind and loving. I’m glad you’ve found so much support here from people who see the value of your chickens and your loss. I sobbed like a baby when each of mine died. You made their lives special and you cared for them. That’s what matters. But the grief is real and valid.
