One thing I wish someone told me about grief is ….
Hi everyone, I hope you are doing well. In life there are many firsts, some of them are pleasant, others not so pleasant. Grief is something we all must endure but are never prepared for.
If you have experienced grief, what is one thing you wish someone told you about it?
"There's a difference in between everything around you being okay and *you* actually feeling okay internally. Life will move on and Everything might be "okay" in some time, but somedays you won't feel it is, and that's completely okay also."💛
That is okay to feel like that. When we experience grief is because we we lost someone or something important to us. And it hurts and it's hard and it takes time to heal and it's totally normal. Everything we feel is valid.
I wish someone would have told me that you can experience grief and loss without someone actually passing away. This hurt is alot to bare I thought I couldn't take anymore loss. I guess sometimes...we don't have a choice.
@SapphireCephalopod
This is so true... we can experience grief and loss without someone's passing.
I didn't know this until my husband was diagnosed with cancer. Watching each 'step down', and grieving him.
((hugs))
That grief is not a certain period of time. You can still be grieving month or years after.
Grief is Cyclical, has trigger points & takes patience, respect & love of self~Be Well
I don't think anything anyone can say can ever prepare you for losing someone close to you. Especially when the death is painful and drawn out and you're there when they die it's the most brutal experience you could ever have.
That it will never go away. It's always a part of your life. Especially watching someone you love pass away. Those memories will never go away.

Exactly- it never really goes away, it just morphs, I guess.
I talk to other widows, and when they ask me how I am, I tell them 'I can't breathe'. I didn't expect anyone to understand that. 'That'll be with you a long time, honey.' It was healing to feel understood.
I wish someone had told me how much more alone I'd be. How most people don't seem to know how to talk to me anymore so they just stop talking to me altogether
I wish someone would have told me, Just because....doesn't mean...
I smile, laugh, or "look" good..
Doesn't mean...I'm all better, life is great.....I've moved on...
Grief is Real~universal emotion!
