Depression Support 1 Update
Just wanted to give everyone a heads up that Depression Support 1 will soon be badge locked, so that only those with the Group Chimer badge may access it.
To earn the Group Chimer badge, you must have at least 5 group chats.
If you're a regular user of the room, it's likely nothing will change for you in terms of being able to access DS1. You can check your profile if you're unsure whether or not you have the badge.
Anyone who is unable to access this room can continue seeking support in Depression Support 2 or the Depression Community Room.
This badge lock is being put into place to prevent harmful users from returning on multiple accounts, and to protect the regular users in that space.
I will update this thread once the badge lock is in place.
Thanks for reading! :)
Thank you Heather and fellow moderators for working to modifying this site back into a more supportive community!
Hey guys!
Good morning guys
Hi, hope you can get up and have a positive distraction today!
@Heather thank you for this update. I do not have the Chimer badge you describe but my profile says I have Group Support Chats = 12
Will the badge be issued automatically or do I need to apply for it? How would I apply if necessary?
I noticed when I went into Depression Support it now says Depression Support 2.
@soulsings you are a listener and not a member, this badge is for members. listeners can access to the room.
@vivelespatates okay, today as a listener I got into both rooms so must have been a midnight haze. :) Thank you for pointing that out.

Awwwwwwww...but what about the ones who goes there for discussions?

Hi from ohio
Hi I'm new to this. I just went to go help for depression. Cause I was ruining my friendship. My friend who I really like went with me to get help. She says she supports me no matter what. Just she move away and I'm scared. I spent 10 years in the marine corps.
@MBUSMC
It's hard to be alone. I think my husband is leaving me and i'm scared
@OverwhelmedinOH
Your intuition shouldn't be ignored. Ask him until you get the truth. Counseling may help IF he isn't "in love with" someone else. Holding on to a man who has already checked out emotionally leads to all kind of pain and self abasement for the person holding on. Get smart (get your own bank account, look for another place to live if necessary and focus on self improvement , eg looks, weight, etc).
@OverwhelmedinOH I am going through something similar with my wife. I've tried to be a good husband but I've let her down many times. Now I'm afraid that she will leave as soon as she has the means.
@MBUSMC I am sorry you are having challenges that are affecting your life. That is rough to deal with. Glad you are hear posting in Depression Support. Have you seen these self help guides that can give inspiration and reassurance when we are going through dark times. Maybe a 1-1 chat would give you the chance to talk through some of the issues.

Hello everyone. I have been neglectful of myself and to those around me, and I think I need help because I have contemplated on killing myself to make things better. I don't know what to do anymore.
@gellybelly
I'm sorry you are having these types of feelings. Know you are not alone. I read a quote not too long ago that helps me... "Suicide doesn't take away the pain, it simply transfers it to another person". I don't know about you but sometimes that option seems like the best thing, but there are more people that want us around than we know.
@OverwhelmedinOH I have heard of that quote quite often, and as much as I try to focus on thinking of the people who matter to me, but I can't help but feel like a burden almost all of the time. An example of this is when I would try to open up to my family, and they shut me down right away and tell me to understand them instead. In that way I feel like I shouldn't be feeling what I am feeling, and that my emotions and myself as a person can never be validated.
@gellybelly and everyone who's having second thoughts about life.
