Keep disability room a 24/7 room

The disability room is one of the safest room in this community. It's used and needed by the disability community for genuine support. Regular members are role models of how to support each other.

I'm proud of this community and I officialy protest against this decision.

I'm pretty upset nobody discussed the decision with the community and it feels like a slap in the face.

I agree, this room is often on topic as we support each other in our daily lives. Problems are rare compared to many of the other rooms.

This room answer unique needs of members with disabilities that affect their ability to see , read, understand, write, type, etc. Some use programs for getting larger text, others use voice recognition programs, etc. This room has not like objective to be crowded because it would block them from can use the room. Move to a more active and crowded room isn't even a possibility for them. It's the only place they can be in. Its something that was reviewed and discussed with @heather long time ago i details. We can't just push away people with special needs/physical disability off our community because they NEED a space more quiet with only one conversation at the time and not too many people. Don't forget neither that if the subcommunity is smaller than others its because very few people ca relate to them. They need this place for connect one to other.

@vivelespatates Well said.

This room is NEVER mean, it is unique, everyone new is welcomed just like I was when I found out I have a lifelong disease, and people of all ages flock here that feel safe because they have a unique problem and can discuss it with others that can relate more than just a room full of people who say, "sorry to hear that." It's a lot different than going to a room and trying to speak about a physical pain from disability, when everyone is talking about everything under the sun. Sometimes we just hurt, or can't walk, or can't hear, or need to share dietary things, some of my pals have cancer, or tips on how to heal certian physica pains, and it is such a big help, and wonderful relationships have been built there in disability room. People in this room try harder to ease our physical pain than other rooms ever will. It's a very special place to be. We need this, please don't take it away just because it isn't as busy 24 hours a day as some more toxic rooms, if we are going to be honest. It's a place to go to be understood about not a mental thing, but literally a physical one, and we can talk about how it affects us mentally. It counts.

Yes, I've gone in there and it's empty for hours...but so is 35+. Are you going to get rid of that too? Noooo please! I can tell you, both get quiet, but they also get really busy! Please don't get rid of disability room. When I found out about my thing, someone there who has a disability also helped me figure out how to cope with the news and helped me with dietary things I couldn't find on my own. I consider her a real friend now. But we would both drown if we had to go to the other rooms that are often overrun with...well, you know what I mean. We would never be heard the way we hear each other. When we go in there and see our "tribe" as we call it (which is open to everyone, by thw way), we instantly feel understood. I was SO supported and my diagnosing doctor wouldnt answer me and i felt so alone, and i found some pals. We need that. Maybe instead of getting rid of it, we could advertise it more. There are people with things worse than what I have, but there are people with things not as bad as what I have. It is a valuable place to go for all.

Please don't erase something that helps people.
