Newsletter for mods
So just a thought, as we all know there are a certain types of trolls which keep coming back and there are times that a mod may take a break or just have been too busy so they would not know the regular trolls ,so maybe sending a periodic newsletter uprising the mods about the trolls who have been making the rounds amongst other things so they can stay updated and are ready if they have to encounter any difficulty in any of the rooms .any thoughts ?
i like the idea of newsletter.....why not create a separate forum for group mod newsletters alone and allow it to be accessed only by mods....so that we can have a better discussion on the group chat related issues...and i suggest we can have a separate team consisting of the most active mods which can contact the admin team directly for implementing new ideas which can be pm'ed to them by other mods......i feel it would be more efficient if it works that way...
Hi @vigneshwaitingtohelpyou ! We already have a separate section in forum for group mods. the chatroom was created to have a better communication between mods instead of personally messaging everyone. But right it is not being used by even the experienced moderators.
As for a separate team, many mentors are group mods too. You can always make forum posts orcontact them.
I like the idea of a newsletter. Keeping in touch with what's going on. I go on the chat room for mods a lot but most of the time it's new listeners in there asking questions and it's slow in terms of chats. Unless I'm going in there at the slow times. 😞
May be we should limit the use of group mod chat to only group mods ( not all listeners ) and whenever someone messages there , it should show up like a pm to all mods so we can have a faster response. ....
What about a forum newsletter?
@LauraS - just want to check, do you mean a newsletter which is given out in the form of a forum post, or a newsletter for forums as well as group mods!?
Did you ever see the community newsletter: This I believe?
Could be like this! What do you think?
@LauraS yeh - something like that would be cool!
Yes, that way it could be created and edited by both staff and community members.
@lauras that would be really cool and it would reach out to a much wider audience
@lauraS
I didn't know where to write this however I'll write it here as this forum appears to be perused by those in the know.
I note that inactive group moderators are losing their group mod badges. Just for everyone's information, I have a glitch with my profile which means I'm invisible in all of the listener and member group chat rooms and am still awaiting a fix on it. It's been this way since prior to Christmas (about 3-4 weeks now) with the odd day being visible, other days my messages are both invisible to all and when I re-enter the room, my messages are gone.
Please don't remove my group mod until the powers at be can solve this issue with my profile. Thanks :/
It's been this way Please do not
@Roadie
As Heather is the one that deals with most group chat/group mod stuff, I'll tag her in here so she can see! @Heather
Hey @Roadie as long as your Group Support Chats on your profile are going up everytime your communicating within the room I wouldn't be too worried :)
I had considered that @Stacie however they're not and neither are my cheers points (the best metric for assessing it because it's based on a per message base). I'm stuck in the water until it gets sorted, I'm afraid.
I've noticed as well that sometimes I'm stuck in "stealth" mode at times. Have you tried a different browser such as FireFox? It seems to work better than Internet Explorer
Thanks @Stacie. I have Chrome, IE, and Firefox, so I might go back to trying IE and Chrome as I use Firefox normally :)
@Roadie , I hope you have emailed Heather about it. Since it is technical issue you should not lose your badge.
Definitely changing the internet browser might help as well if you are using a laptop try restarting it fully instead of just keeping it on sleep mode. It has helped for me. I have noticed especially recently that I can log in and nobody will notice that I am online in the chatroom so I do see where you are coming from :)
@Roadie sorry this did not reply to you for some reason :)
Im sorry if this is the wrong place to post this...due to medical reasons , I wont be able to come to 7cups for a month and hence I wont be able to moderate. ...however im a regular moderator with 100+ group support chats....I kindly request the person (s) concerned not to remove my group mod badge as I will be back after a month. ....@Heather @Kane
A mistake. ...I actually meant DON'T REMOVE MY GROUP MOD BADGE AS I WILL BE BACK AFTER A MONTH
@vigneshwaitingtohelpyou edited! Take care.![]()
