Sharing Circle Reminders

Hello to all community members,

Just a quick reminder to everyone about how our Sharing Circle room works.

The Sharing Circle room is a unique group chat that has a wonderful origin. The indigenous people of North America, would come together and take turns to share something that was on their minds. These could be celebrations, achievements, or worries and feelings. Everyone has an equal opportunity to share and get support, no problem is more worthy than another, and no one’s share is more or less important than the next.

To make our wonderful Sharing Circles work, we try to have hosts that volunteer their time to facilitate these circles. They make sure everyone gets a fair amount of time to share, welcome in new people, and remind everyone of the rules and guidelines that we have in the group chat rooms to maintain a safe space.

When you enter the room, take a moment to look around, see if someone is sharing, and be polite and listen to their share. When a host or mod opens the queue, you can type * to enter. Hosts and mods, please remember to open the queue between each share and only take those who enter a * during that time to join. We wait until the queue is open so that it is fair for everyone to have the opportunity to join, especially as it is on a first come first serve basis.

A friendly reminder to all hosts: Please ensure to open the queue only after a sharer's share is complete. It helps to keep the queue in order and less confusing. We appreciate your efforts and support to listen and support everyone.
