Social Media Sharing in Calendar
The calendar once again has personal twitter accounts being shared, these do not appear to be related to the 7cups approved projects.
Some do go to 7cups profiles, why don't they all do this?
@ArwaS
Names in the calendar that have twitter links, so all of you are aware of how you're being represented:
@heyitsroo @ASilentObserver @PhoenixAsh @erica @Kate @UnicornBunny (protected account - so maybe is a 7cups twitter account?) @SunFern @JovialOne @Erato (no tweets on the account) @Chocoholic247 (protected account) @eviesweet @Nawaz00 @JaydenIsHere (no tweets) @Anggi (no tweets)
To check out where you are linked to, click on the event you're hosting in the calendar and if you click your name you will go to a twitter account.
That only covers about 24 hours of the calendar, plus the events that have already occured today, so there are probably more.
@AffyAvo it
@Erica Some of them with the @ symbol do go to 7cups profiles. Some of the twitter accounts use language that's against our community guidelines, some are for advertising. I'm not blaming the listeners who have twitter accounts linked to their names, but it's inappropriate for 7cups and it really should be fixed.
@AffyAvo Hey! When I submitted my event, I did not hyperlink it; if I remember, there is no option to. I do not choose where it leads to when you click it, let alone if anything even does. I can not change this.
Just to clarify, I am not associated with that account, did not make it, and didn't even know that my name would be hyperlinked to that account. It is not my Twitter account.
@JaydenIsHere I don't know how some got the 7cups profiles links. Ideally, they would all do this. Otherwise, I think the @ symbol needs to be avoided in tocify.
@AffyAvo That is strange, I do not have a twitter account (not for 7cups nor for myself) so I'm kind of confused - so that's not my account at all. I put the @ on the calendar so people know it's a username, but probably would be best to edit them out of the calendar or completely avoid them? I agree that should be fixed, seems it's from the calendar programming that automatically links to social media and only if finds none goes to site.. hopefully that's something that can be turned off.
Good thing you pointed it out. I don't remember this happening before, but I did notice were hyperlinked - just never checked!
@AffyAvo Oh, thankies for pointing this out but I wasn't aware of @ and it would redirect you to a twitter account 😲 I have 7cups twitter account for social soldiers but the @erato isn't mine. I don't think anyone is at fault with this issue since we had no idea about the @ thingy :3 thankies for bringing it up though!
@AffyAvo I dont have twitter :p so this isnt my account, it is someone else's.
Hey guys! This is super weird and I'm looking into it right now. It may indeed be the @ symbol that's throwing it off. I definitely don't have a twitter and that's not me anyway.
Oh my yeah it's really weird how when I clicked on my username on the calendar it led me to a twitter account which wasn't even mine to begin with. I don't even have a twitter account for 7 cups as I'm not a part of the social media soldiers. Thanks for letting us know about this problem @AffyAvo. I hope it will get fixed soon!
The solution may be to not include @ when submitting. Still playing with settings on tockify to try and fix.
@Kate Go, Kate! Thankies :3
Affy, thank you for bringing this into picture. I was surprised to know as I haven't the idea.
That twitter account doesn't belong to me.
Well, as Kate suggested we may stop adding @ next to usernames while adding events to tockify. Probably it could fix the issue.
Appreciate your efforts to bring it into picture. Thank you.
Thanks for pointing this out! @PhoenixAsh isn
@Kate It's happening again
People being linked to actual twitter profiles @ItsDev @Caim @HeatherFeatherC @DanaMH @Jaydenishere
People with links to twitter, no specific profile @PositiveSkyler (suspended account) @Wonderfulhart1330
There are others too, I saw some yesterday that aren't here. Forgot about posting.
@AffyAvo I'm confused what's happening? I just saw the top post, is my username a real Twitter account or something? :o
@ItsDev When people use the @ symbol in the calendar without specifying a link, it links to a twitter account. Some of the @whoeverisleadingthesession coincidentally are real twitter accounts as well, some do not have that particular handle claimed yet.
So when inputting information to the calendar, if @ symbols are going to be used, then they really need to include the link to someone's 7cups profile, otherwise there is potential for violation of the community guidelines (social media sharing).
Your info in the calendar was one that goes to an actual twitter account.
@AffyAvo Fixing now. Thank you!
@AffyAvo @Kate
What do you mean that I have an account that is suspended?
@DanaMH I didn't say that. I said that your calendar events were linking to an actual twitter profile.
@AffyAvo @kate
Hi Kate, when you post my 35+ calendar items that I sent you this morning that would be awesome if you can ensure it doesn't go to Twitter than. Thanks
@Kate you missed some ie. one right now for self harm. Birthday party later.
@AffyAvo Thank you! I'm on it
@7cupsCommunity it's happening again.
@AffyAvo
Can you show me how to recreate this issue? When I visit the Calendar I do not see any social media.
@7CupsCommunity What happens is that Tockify automatically sets to a twitter account when you use the @ symbol with usernames. So unless you reset the link it will divert to a twitter account with the same name. For example, saying 'Discussion hosted by @Kate' would automatically link to whatever twitter account exists with the handle @Kate.
@Kate
Thank you Kate. Is the Family & Caregivers Session on May 4th an example of this?
cc @AffyAvo
@7CupsCommunity Yes, and some will link to actual twitter profiles, like Harieo at 3pm later the same day.
@AffyAvo
I see! We will look into this and get back to you. Thank you for the feedback!
@AffyAvo
We are still looking into your query. Thank you for your patience!
@7CupsCommunity Either a proper link to listener profiles needs to be included (@vivelespatates used to do this) or the @ symbol shouldn't be used in the calendar, as it automatically links to whatever twitter page exists for what comes following the symbol. On occasion, the link will be a mail to, not sure why that happens.
@AffyAvo
Thank you for your feedback!
@AffyAvo
We will be reaching out to discussion approvers and instructing them to make sure there is no @username before approval. We will continue monitoring the situation. Thank you for your help!
