How Many Times Do You Exercise Per Week?

November 17th, 2017

Hello everyone,

How many times do you exercise per week? (1/2/3/4/5/6/7 days?)

Do you feel that this number is working for you? Would you like to increase the number of days, in which you work out?

Where I live, experts have determined that the minimum effective number of minutes to exercise per week, is 150 minutes. Of course, one would want to speak to their health professional about what is healthy for them. In the past, in speaking to a personal trainer at a gym, it was recommended to always have at least one rest day per week.

Thanks for your replies.

Usually 1. Very rarely 2, and none occurs more often that I would like to.

I would love to be able to exercise more. Most of the time though once a week is what works for my body. I guess I was doing yoga for a little bit to add in a 2nd a little more frequently. Lately though, I can't seem to make the class that I enjoyed work into my schedule and need for rest.

@StrengthFromWithin

I usually workout 6 days a Week with "One" rest day....

I teach Zumba Two days a week, and also Co-Teach a class with another instructor on a 3rd day......And then I also walk for Twice a day for an hour at a time either through my neighborhood which has several hills with my husband and at the Lake with my Dog...(or depending on the weather, in my home with Dvd's)...

I also incorporate Nintendo Wii Fit exercises, and try to incorporate "Strength training" as well with weights... (which I try to do 1-2 days a week).

Saturdays tend to be my "Rest Day"... however Bi-Monthly there is a Pound Fitness class in my area and I attend that. So on those weeks I guess I would workout 7 days a week....

In the summers though I do the same regime however I add Swimming in the afternoons for 2hours at least 3 days a/week.

This is a great active healthy lifestyle! I also use my Wii Fit board nowadays, mostly to do step exercise, as well as boxing, and find that it can provide an effective at-home type of a workout. Do you use the step exercise option where you can watch tv at the same time? I find this helps to keep things more interesting.

I actually started that way.. Using the option where you can watch TV at the same time..... It kept me on the board ALOT longer!...

However, I Do love to switch it up and use the "Wii People" as well and do it with them.. I like the motivation to "get it right" and the challenge behind it.... I even created "Wii people" that look like my family! lolol.... It keeps things interesting and entertaining. lol

I'm supposed to exercise twice a week (I do gymnastics) but recently I've just been going once! I do that for 3 hours though, and I walk my dog daily cheeky

I excersise 0 times a week. This number is not working for me and I need to go to the gym. I think that it would be very helpful for me to work on my excersing and hope to do so soon.

Wishing you all the best with this. What are your favorite exercise activities? Can you create a plan onto paper? How many days will you exercise per week, and which days will you exercise?

I workout about 4-6 days a week. I start with about 15-30 minutes of cardio and the rest is strength training with weight machines and a little yoga. I dance in my room or at parties from time to time so that could count towards cardio!

Not enough that is sure, I'm supposed to be exercising 2 times a week and I barely make that. I went to the gym and walked on the treadmill for thirty minutes last Saturday and did exercises at home one night for 20 minutes Monday I think and then nothing since then Being trying to boost my activity levels but it has been hard, Hopefully next week will be better since I am having a very lazy weekend right now.

I have a job where I'm outdoors all day, and involves a steady amount of exercise. But actual dedicated exercise time, probably at least 5 times a week, sometimes 7 (so every day), and sometimes twice a day (once in the morning, once in the evening). Combination of running, weights, bodyweight only, and yoga.

It sounds like you are maintaining an active lifestyle! Is there a replacement activity for the running, which you can perform on weekends?
