EVERYONE PLEASE BE CAREFUL TOO...

I should also point out that...
I found any dance move that involves squating the knees
must be done very carefully
or you can hurt your knees.

At first you might not be at risk for this
because you're just learning the moves
so you're doing them gently.

But as you get better, you might get carried away.
That's when you need to be careful and use proper form.

Especially this can happen when Denise is all pumped up
and is getting to everyone to go for it.

Go for it carefully.
Don't let her enthusiasiam get you to do anything too forcefully.

Also be careful about jumping and pointing the feet excessively.

Go Gentle even though the videos tell you to Go Hard.

Why? Because jumping hard and pointing the feet excessively both can cause foot problems
leading to getting foot and lower leg cramps while sleeping, which can be very very painful.

I'm telling you this from experience and web searches

SECRET TIPS: If you play the music LOUD it will feel like a DANCE PARTY!!! Wireless earbuds are best.

You can Make Up your own moves. Do what ever you want to. Make it your own as they say. Add Drama too!

You can do the moves however is best for you (make the moves Easier or Harder, Faster or Slower).

You can even do the moves SITTING by just doing the ARM moves. Try the Bollywood Video that way for Fun!!!

@hopedreamlove

You're welcome. That is THE most pleasant Bollywood video I was able to find
besides the "seated Bollywood video: in the other thread,
which is even better in some ways.
https://www.7cups.com/forum/HealthyLivingSupport_141/ExerciseandActivity_825/MOSTFUNEVERSEATEDDANCELIKEEXERCISETHENTABATATOO_228689/

I think both videos show what is possible.

Now I'm trying to find more videos like those...
pleasant and fun... in the "Goldilocks Zone"... meaning... not too loud, not too difficult, just right smiley

@hopedreamlove

If you want to... Let me know if there is a particular type of exercise video you are looking for.

I've just been through a ton of videos for a tiny habits project so I have a big collection of links by exercise type.

If you tell me specificially what you need, I may already have it and could paste the links you want here.

Yes.. As a Dance/Fitness instructor (especially with Zumba) I always tell my participants to "Make it their own"! That they don't always have to follow me and do what I'm doing. That they can feel free to spice it up by adding their own cool movements and doing what they feel. (As long as they aren't knocking anyone over or becoming un-safe in anyway! cheekylol)

Sometimes I have gotten them to totally "Freestyle" a move, and they do so well that I actually end up putting that in the choreo the following class lol.

@PoliteOcean

Thanks so much for sharing that.
I feel like I'm in good company here now. smiley
It's nice to know others here are helping to make exercise more fun.

I'd like to get a dialog going somehow with anyone interested on ...
"Growth Paths for Making Exercise Really Fun".

I too love to "freestyle", and make it my own... adding my own drama, and spicing it up.
Yet, it seems to be a skill, habit, and even a mindset one has to learn little by little.
I find I need to learn the moves and have the right music and know how to put it all together.

I've always been mainly an outdoor sports person and now I'm transitioning to indoor exercise.

The tricky part about indoor exercising in my limited experience is...
keeping it interesting
also...
finding videos that...
are imaginative
have great moves
make fun a priority
have great music
enable fun drama
have instructors that have contagious fun ways
have instructors that avoid lecturing.

It would be so nice if I could get a thread set up somewhere on "very best videos".
The videos would have to fit all the requirements above to be on the list.

Or maybe the videos could be ranked in the various dimension above.

As you can see... finding really great videos has been a challenge for me
