@Sheena39

I am always saying sorry for things I did not do even if it is someone else's fault i will say it. I am not sure why I do it I just do. My boyfriend tells me all the time it is not my fault so why apologize and I say I just do, I wish I can stop doing it

Hi Sheena! 😊 ❤️ I cannot thank you enough for your amazing forum post as it truly does resonate with me!

I can only imagine how many of us apologize for things, say "I"m sorry" even though we have done nothing wrong. From some of the things that I have read, it could potentially be a trauma response. Even others bumping into pieces of furniture, that they own, in their own home and instinctively saying "I'm sorry". 🙁

There are those in life that will never apologize for wrong doing, "I'm sorry" isn't in their vocabulary and for them, it's highly intentional. That is a wholeeeeeeeeeeee nother talk show, fo' sho"!  Thank goodness that is not our problem.

For me, I've really thought about this concept and for awhile. I try to be a bit more "word choosy" as words do have meaning. If I have done something wrong, I'll be the first to say that I am sorry, apologize and really well and also make amends. If I haven't done anything wrong, I take a vastly different approach with my verbiage that is also quite kind and shows empathy towards others if there was some sort of misunderstanding.

*high fives* 😊 and *hugs* ❤️
