**This past week has gone well..... Got some exciting news that has been over Two years in the making and things are "Finally" coming together at "just the right time"!...God is good....
**Stayed on track with eating and workouts.. Taught 2 Zumba classes and co-taught a 3rd.... Today (Saturday) is our Bi-monthly POUND Fitness class, so planning to go to that today... My goal is to continuing doing some type of workout at least 6 days a week... And to get "Variation"....switch things up......start incorporating some differenth things.
**Still working on trying to get to sleep earlier, tonight I may do that, but I still need to work at this for sure. Weekends are even harder since my husbands off on weekends, so we are naturally just late-night people. But eh.. at least I'm doing better at getting my water in this week. Need to continue to work on that more.
**Last, I need more "self care" time, I find that lately I have become and have gotten "busier"... my anxiety levels have been lower, so I find myself "living" again, and with that comes more activity. So I need to sit down and create some type of schedule for myself so I'm staying on track and not too busy and overwhelmed.
HOPE EVERYONE ELSE'S WEEK HAS GONE WELL~![]()
@PoliteOcean I wish I could take your class! Congratulations and good luck with your schedule!
My sleep has been off but I hope to catch up this weekend
Very busy week, but kept anxiety in check. I am back to a better diet than over the holidays and have be able to get some good walks even with the cold weather. Counting the days until Spring. Everyone keep up the good work.
@sail46
Great check-in Sail!...
Great that you are keeping your anxiety in check.. I personally know that is so important. I can certainly relate to that. And its awesome that you have been getting walks in even with the colder weather!.. Its just too chilly for me even though I need to get back to it as well... I guess I will count down the days of spring with you! lol....
Great job on getting back on track with your eating since the holidays... Keep up the great work that you are doing. Sounds like you are really putting in some great work for yourself!.... Thanks so much for checking in this week and letting us know how things have been going for you!
I was more back on track this week. I did an exercise-related activity each weekday. Depending on how cold it is, I might spend some time cleaning hay out of the animal pen today, which will get me plenty of cardio! My eating and alcohol consumption were under control. I managed to not take anything except blueberries on the monthly birthday celebration junk food fest at work. I have been trying to keep my fiber intake up as recommended by my doctor to help with my stomach issue, and that seems to be helping. My stomach was pretty good this week. Two weekends ago I baked some high fiber bread. I am not an experienced bread baker and it was edible but not so great. It's almost gone, so I'm trying again today with a different recipe! I hope to stay on track through February, and maybe finally lose my holiday 5 pounds.
@SadMe70
Hey Sad!...Its great that you have gotten yourself more back on track this week. And its even more awesome that you were able to get in activity for yourself each day. That is really great for you. I know things were getting a little challenging there for you for a while, but that certainly happens but it surely doesn't mean we can't get back on track. And its cool that you are turning "Chores" into "workouts" ... after all it is "work"! and yes certainly "cardio"!....
I am so glad to hear that your stomach issues are getting better and that you are finding things that seem to be helping you. Yes Fiber can surely be a huge help where that is concerned. And also an added benefit of aiding with weight loss too! I wish you the best of luck at staying on track through February and accomplishing even more goals and plans for yourself. This has truly been a great check-in for you!..Continue to keep up the great work that you have been doing for yourself. I wish for you to continue to heal and feel even better and to continue to accomplish your goals. Thank you so much for checking in this week and letting us know how things have been going for you!...
Yesterday was spent mostly in bed. Hubby was at home and I didn't even realize it for the longest time, he brought me up lunch which meant I didn't have to drag myself downstairs just to get food and drinks.
The weather is not helping. Not a really cold snap, but typical cold temps right now (-20s) with snow. No specific exercise, because my class (and multiple other days) were cancelled. I thought about trying something else, but didn't because of how I was feeling. I did see my nephews twice this week so that makes up a bit for the lack of gym time. Maybe tonight I'll be up for the rowing machine, we'll see.
@AffyAvo
Hey Affy~ Sounds like your time spent in bed was something your body must've really needed... nothing wrong with giving it that rest. And how nice of your husband to bring up lunch to you.
I think all of us are counting down the days until warmer weather is upon us..... I think many of us who are experiencing winter months at this time, are feeling somewhat behind on things. And feeling "stuck" (stuck inside, stuck with not getting in the workouts we want etc..)... I need to walk hills and get in swimming etc... these things help me and work my body etc....Its challenging to even get out with it being so cold out there right now... Especially when it bothers or upsets other health concerns as I'm sure it probably does for you.
Its great that you are keeping "active" with those nephews of yours.... Playing and running around with & after kids can certainly make for an active workout for sure lol....So that is activity that still counts!
Hopefully you will start to feel better soon and get back to your rowing machine and other activities that you are able to enjoy. Thank you so much for checking in this week and for letting us know how you've been doing and how things have been going for you the past week!
While I wasn't able to keep to my workout schedule due to crazy antics by passive-aggressive managers in my office, I was able to work on my 7 cups growth path daily, took walks around my building when the insanity got to much and I needed the fresh air to breath and get back to the now, plus - and this one is big - I stayed on my nutritarian eating plan, which is lots and lots of greens raw and cooked. So, 2 out of 3 - I'm gonna love myself for that. Coming into the new week and seeing that it would be better for me to take Thursday and Friday off from the gym rather than Saturday and Sunday, I might be able to get to the gym before work for the first 3 days of the workweek. That's the new plan!
I appreciate everyone in this community and reading your posts. It's nice to know we are not alone and have lots of support.
@oakhenge
Hey Oak!...
I'm sorry to hear that you got off track with things.... but its so great that you were able to find time to step out and just get a breath of fresh air and just clear you mind for a bit! (Sounds like just doing that took care of Emotional, Mental and Physcial health ALL IN ONE!) ![]()

Its also great that you are staying on track with your eating plan as well as your growth path here at 7cups!... And I love that you are also making a "Plan" for yourself and finding ways to accomodate those plans in the best way for yourself!.... Best of luck on that!...
And I agree, I love reading through everyone's posts and knowing that we are not travelling this journey alone. That we are all in this together! And all here to support one another! Thank you so much for being apart of this community! And thank you so much for checking in this week and letting us know how things have been going for you! Keep up the great work that you are doing for yourself!
@PoliteOcean
Hey all
proud I workedout 6 days this week and this is my chosen day off
I dont want to but know with weightlifting u need a day off.
up 10 lbs but all I can think is this is menopause because I really have been following a good pprogram.
i learned seeds are a trigger food for me last month so pulling back on that
added hot workouts like yoga pilates and barre in a heated room it makes me feel
looser and detoxed like a sauna
trying to incorporate a nightly medicinal tea to my routine so I get more liquid in and fit in some herbal remedies as well
@Dancersoul
Sounds like a great check in Dancer!
Its really great that you were able to get in those workouts over the past week....And feeling good about it.
Its also a bonus that you are learning your "Trigger" foods... for some of us (like me, it can be everything!") lol I'm not too 'predjudice' when it comes to food lol... So I do have to be careful myself. I know what you mean. So its great that you have recognized that and decided to pull-back on those. Its also good that you are choosing to take a day off from workouts and feel that is whats best for you. Great job on choosing and incorporating things you like as well such as Yoga , Pilates & Barre. I have personally never done any of those. But have been kind-of wanting to try Barre out.
You are doing a really great job. Keep up the great work!.. And thank you so much for checking in this week and letting us know how things are going for you!
@PoliteOcean
HOW has everyone been doing and feeling over this past week? I have been okay. I had a bit of anxiety and depression, but it seems to have passed for now.
This is our FIRST FEBRUARY Checkin!....How do you feel about the month ahead? It's going alright
What things would you like to work on or accomplish in February? a better workout routine
What positive things or insights can you take with you from last month into this New Month? I got this :)
Any highlights of the past week that you'd like to share? not really
@Mellietronx
Hey Mellie!... So sorry to hear that you had to deal with some anxiety and depression. Its surely not a fun thing to have to deal with and go through. Its good that it has passed for you and not lingering. Thats great. and its good you are feeling better....
Its great that you are targeting goals for yourself for the month ahead. Good luck to you on making those happen. And I LOVE your attitude on that you 'GOT THIS"!.. That is really awesome! As well as a positive thing! Just keep up the great things that you are doing, and working to accomplish .And YES, "you do got this"! and you can do it!....We are here to support you.
Thanks so much for checking in this week and letting us know how you've been doing!
@PoliteOcean
HOW has everyone been doing and feeling over this past week?
The past week was quite good, although over the weekend I haven't been feeling as great.
This is our FIRST FEBRUARY Checkin!....How do you feel about the month ahead?
I think February will be a good month--I'm cautiously optimisic, but I think there will be some great times this month :)
What things would you like to work on or accomplish in February?
I want to work hard and do well in my classes, and I also want to get more exercise when the weather warms up a bit. And of course, continue to work on my mental and emotional health.
What positive things or insights can you take with you from last month into this New Month?
Progress may be slow, but it will come. And it doesn't matter what people think of me; I just have to do the best I can.
Any highlights of the past week that you'd like to share?
I had a good conversation with my dance teacher this past week. She gave me some encouragement I needed to hear
@MoreThanAConqueror18
What a great and Positive check in this week!..... It is great that you are staying optimistic about the Month ahead and that you want to work hard, do well in your classes.....
I agree, I think most of us here agree and are waiting on that weather to warm up. I was just saying the same thing yesterday. I want to do more outside, but its challenging when the weather isn't the best or cooperating. But hopefully it will be happening soon!
Its awesome that you want to work on your mental and emotional health! That is VERY important for all of us to be able to do that. How we feel emotionally and mentally affects everything else in our lives and around us. As well as others who are around us. So I wish you the best of luck with that. I know personally it can be challenging at times, but it CAN be done!.....
And I think its even more optimistic of you to have self-realization that even if progress is slow, "THAT IT WILL COME"!...And yes it doesn't matter what others think or feel. We have to do whats best for "Ourselves" and not for others!... That is really awesome insight!
And its great that you have positive encouragement from others around you such as your Dance Teacher. We need that support in our lives. And its great that you have that.... (btw, I didn't realize that you took dance?!) I am a Zumba INstructor..... What kind of Dance do you do?! Would love to hear about it!
Thanks so much for checking in this week and for letting us know how things have been going for you! So great to hear from you :)
@PoliteOcean
Thank you for your reply and kind words
I take ballet classes once a week, and also help out with ballet for the 6-8 year olds. I didn't start dance until about 4 years ago, but I have worked really hard and it's been and continues to be a fun and rewarding hobby
@MoreThanAConqueror18
oh wow Conqueror... Ballet is hard work!... You must be VERY dedicated for sure!.. I think that is one of the most perhaps (complicated) yet (graceful) of all dance formats!.... Sounds like you are really doing well with it. And how nice of you to help with the children who are wanting to learn as well!.... That is so awesome of you. Keep up the great work!
@PoliteOcean
Yes, it is definitely challenging sometimes and takes a lot of hard work but I love it so much!
So I've heard of Zumba dance, but I have never tried it before. Can you tell me more about it?
@MoreThanAConqueror18
ZUMBA is an aerobic fitness program featuring movements inspired by various styles of Latin American dance and performed primarily to Latin American dance music.... however, it also incorporates "other" genres such as Hip Hop, Bollywood, Rock, World music and various other types.. (but its based primarily on Latin)
It's called the "Exercise in Disguise" because its so fun and hardly feels like you are working out, even though you are scorching HUNDREDS of calories in one hour. ![]()
I love to dance, and this was the perfect workout for me when I first found it. I have been teaching since 2011.
@PoliteOcean
That sounds awesome!!
i have been semi unproductive thus weel so far, sleepng alot, not sure why. Appetite has been decreased. i have nanaged to do some chores and provide support here in 7cups.
Water intake is good, could be better. Tomorrow will be another day :D
@Keola
Sorry to hear that you have been a little off track and not feeling %100 Keola... I do hope that you start to feel better. Its great that even though you have felt tired, that you mananaged to still help others here and be supportive ... as well you did good with your water intake! So great job on the positives! The rest will come together for you as well. Hang in there. And thank you for checking in this week!
@PoliteOcean ... thank you so much Ocean <3, i appreciate you and everyone so much. i love your positivity and your motivation. im ok despite of the laid backs, theres always another day. tonight is busy here at work but i avoided alot of unhealthy snacks and kept up with my water intake... so I'm good xD
Thank you again Ocean <3
@Keola
I used to work nightshift as well.. (I believe you told me that you did the same at one time?)... correct me if I'm wrong.. .but, as a Nurse, I know how it is (the busy-ness of everything, and not getting a whole lot of down time even on nightshift) lol..... But... you said, you avoided alot of unhealthy snacks and kept up with water intake... That surely sounds like a "WIN" to me for sure!... That was something that was challenging for me on nightshift, because working evenings and nights can be difficult to figure out "how" to eat, "what" to eat, "when" to eat ... etc...etc.... You get my point! So the fact that you stayed on track even with the "smaller" things (snacks, water) is Awesome!... Great job! Keep going and keep up the great work!
