**This past week was rather challenging for various reasons.... I thought that I had a prior issue taken care of several months ago.. only to find out this week, that I will now have to correct that same issue again. Which will require having to do something that I don't want to do and will require money that I don't wish to spend
.... It wasn't the best of weeks emotionally...But despite what I had to deal with, I managed to stay on track for the most part. Except for sleep of course. Although, I have been doing some meditations on my FITBIT app~ They are really relaxing and help with sleep.~
**I've just been kind of unsettled this week with everything going on and just didn't really want to deal with much.... and the weather decided to get cooler again too and brought rain. So didn't get out much other than various appointments and to teach my few Zumba classes. Its funny though because over the next few days, it will manage to climb about 30 degrees higher than what we've had over these past several days. The weather is so crazy here this time of year.
... But today (now that the week has come to an end) I managed to be greatly productive and get the entire house clean and "Spring/Easter"-ready~ Its so nice to "feel" organized.
**This weekend, intentions are to get up early (Sat) in the morning and hit a Zumba class that a fellow Zumba friend teaches....Then relax for the day since I did manage to get everything done today despite a crazy week... And then a small Easter Dinner at my moms on Sunday with my family.~ ![]()
ENJOY THE WEEKEND~
@PoliteOcean Here's how the past week went. Deysi was off for the week. Monday I had a therapy appointment and later I was able to get a ride to the grocery store. That's it as far as appointments go. I took a blood test two weeks ago and still haven't gotten my results back yet.
My stress level went down by a huge amount this past week because I found the code samples online for the computer book that I'm learning from.
My therapy appointment didn't go well because we got distracted by a tangent. I don't know if I should send my therapist an email or just let it slide. There was a couple of days this past week that the chat rooms on 7 cups were really slow.
I have a new email friend, her name is Brandi.
My intentions are strictly platonic, I just hope she is consistent. One area of growth for me is to cut down on my coffee drinking, since I drink about 10 cups a day. For this upcoming week, I have therapy on Monday and then back to acupuncture on Wednesday, and then on Friday I'm going to the condo to organize some things.
@Regmo
Hey there Regmo~ It could be a good thing that you didn't have a weeks worth of appointments for a change? But its great for you that you were able to get the ride that you needed to get to the grocery store. Wow, 2 weeks seems like a rather lengthy time to wait on blood results. Have you tried to call them?... Thats too bad that your therapy appointment didn't go as well as you desired due to a distraction. If its bothering you that it happened, or wish to speak to your therapist, I would suggests following what feels best to do.... If you feel good about emailing her, that might be the better of the two options. Despite all of that, How awesome for you that your stress levels declined due to a positive outcome. Yes, I know that sometimes the chatrooms can tend to be rather quiet. I remember once upon a time it seemed like every room was non-stop. But, I guess it just depends on the days and times that people are able to be here or get on. And of course, people come and go over time. So I guess we just never know how they will "ebb and flow" from day to day. And of course its still Spring Break for many, along with this being Easter weekend. So many could be away as well. How nice that you have managed to find a new friend. And even nicer to have consistency! So hopefully that will continue for you. I do remember you talking once before about wanting to scale back some on your coffee drinking. Sounds like an attainable goal. Have you decided on what steps you might want to take to put that into action for yourself? Perhaps decreasing that number by the week? If you feel you drink 10/day, then maybe shoot for only 9/day for a week.... And then each week gradually decrease it by another cup? Until you are where you wish to be....... Sounds like you will have another busy week ahead and back on track with your usual weekly schedule. Thanks for checking in this week and keeping us up-to-date on things. Let us know how you are doing with your coffee goals!
@PoliteOcean I just got my blood test results back tonight. I didn't see my hemoglobin or red blood cell count. I guess it wasn't in the test. I sent my therapist an email stating how unhappy I was over our last appointment. I'm going to try to cut down on coffee by taking a supplement called MSM as soon as my budget can afford it.
@Regmo
Hey Regmo!.. Sorry to hear that your test didn't include everything you were wanting.. perhaps you could try to get them to do that part with another visit? Or call and see if maybe it was something that was missed in your results?... Its good that you were able to reach out to your therapist via email to let her know how you've been feeling in regards to your last appointment. Has she replied yet? I'm curious to hear her thoughts!... Its great that you have a plan to help with cutting down on coffee. I know what you mean about waiting for your budget to afford it. Its too bad that money always seems to be the center of many things that we desire to do or need to get done. But hopefully it will come together soon for you!
**Hey Everybody! How have things been going this week? I have gotten errands, chores and writing done. There is still a long list of things I want to do. I have been productive in spite of feeling down and dreadful. (I'm not sure of the dread.)
**This is our FIRST Check-In for the Month of APRIL! What are you looking forward to the MOST this month?! I hope to get some major editing done, and some of my handwritten pieces on the computer. I also want to take a few walks and figure out how to get more energy.
**As we start a new month, What goals would you like to focus on for yourself? I want to get rid of some clutter in my life
What healthy habits would you like to continue to work on or create for yourself? I want to cut back on soda and walk more
**This is "EASTER Weekend" for Many of us.... How many of you will celebrate?! What are your Easter plans? Dinner and work on my writing
What are your usual "traditions"? My brother and I made an orange glazed ham and sweet potatoes.
**JUST FOR FUN:.....With Easter & Spring comes many colors... (flowers, easter eggs etc..) What is "YOUR" favorite Color? Egg color purple or pink, normally my favorite colors are purple, silver, black, and crimson
**What have been your "Highlights or Struggles" this past week? My dad gave me a guilt trip for not going there for Easter. (My four year old sister drives me crazy, she is spoiled rotten. Myself and three other siblings would have punished bad for acting like she has. My stepmom simply blames loneliness and ADHD, but she has no respect for adults. My biological clock has been messing with self-worth and depression, because I am 38 not married and no kids. Logically, I just want to have a been place, my own privacy, a computer desk and cats.)
**What would "YOU" like to talk about or share with us about your Week?! WE want to hear from "YOU"~![]()
I am fighting dread and depression issue, but I am trying my best to pray and work though them.
@Rebekahwriter13
Hey there Rebekah!...
Despite not getting "everything" completed like you wish, and feeling down as well... it sounds like you really did do a great job at being productive and getting many other things done! Good job at being able to push through!
Sounds like you have a lot of goals for yourself in this month ahead!... I'm sure that you can get them done little by little. One step at a time. Perhaps creating a schedule of what you want to do, and spacing those things out, can help you stay on track day by day. And scheduling a day or two in between for a break? Or.... maybe work on your editing during the week (mon-thurs) and scheduling time to walk between (Fri-Sun)? However it works best for you!
Cutting and ridding "Clutter" from our lives can be SOOO Beneficial! And can make us feel so good mentally and emotionally. Which in turn also benefits us physcially as well. Its a great benefit overall!. Cutting back on soda, and walking more are awesome additions!
Orange glaze ham and sweet potatoes sounds really great. Hope that you enjoyed!
I like Silver and Black too!... We have a purple car lol.. it always attracts alot of attention. People really seem to like purple! And crimson is really a nice bright color!
So sorry to hear that you felt "guilt-tripped" for not going to your dads for Easter. (I haven't had interaction with my dad in a long time). He lives in another state. And neither of us visit. Thats really interesting that you have a sister that is so young! 4 years old can certainly be a "attention-attracting" age! And one that is also quite energetic lol.. Sorry to hear that she tends to have a behavior issue. I know that can be challenging when adults don't step in to deal with it early on. And sorry to hear that you are having feelings of your own regarding your self-worth and depression over not being married with kids of your own. I'm sure that is quite a challenging thing to have to carry around. But being married and having kids doesn't in any way define the person that you are overall. I hope that things eventually fall into place for you and that at some point you can have a space that you can call your own! Perhaps you could write out some of those goals and how you could meet them at some point?
Despite going through dread and depression at this time, I really like hearing that you are trying to Pray your way through it all. Prayer is a great line of defense in what we go through from day to day. And can certainly help us to relieve our anxieties and eventually get into a better place! Good for you, Keep up the great work!
Thank you for checking in this week and letting us know how things are continuing to go for you and how you are doing!
@PoliteOcean
**Hey Everybody! How have things been going this week?
Hi Ocean, last week was full of ups and down. On sunday i had a bit of a melt down, cried a lot. However today I've got time to reflect and recharge and the week was pretty good.
**This is our FIRST Check-In for the Month of APRIL! What are you looking forward to the MOST this month?!
I'm looking for improving myself as a musician, I feel like I started to have clearer direction for self-improvement now.I'm also looking forward to continue with the leadership programs i'm currently training for.
**As we start a new month, What goals would you like to focus on for yourself? What healthy habits would you like to continue to work on or create for yourself?
I would like to eat more cucumber and carrots as snacks, I bought myself some of them today.
**This is "EASTER Weekend" for Many of us.... How many of you will celebrate?! What are your Easter plans? What are your usual "traditions"?
My culture don't celebrate Easter, so it was "business as usual".
**JUST FOR FUN:.....With Easter & Spring comes many colors... (flowers, easter eggs etc..) What is "YOUR" favorite Color?
pink and anything velvet... perharps BLUE VELVET like the name of the song, sung by TOny Bennet.
**What have been your "Highlights or Struggles" this past week?
Struggle last week: It was to manage my emotions, i got into fights with my friends and almost breakup with my boyfriend. After reflection i realised that I had way TOO much social time during the week and especially towards the end of the weekend, and I have not had enough time for myself at all. That really made me felt frustration inside and I did not know why, and i got mad with others and mad with myself insted.
**What would "YOU" like to talk about or share with us about your Week?! WE want to hear from "YOU"~![]()
because of social time, I finally had bonding time with my step brother, I feel less guilty for not spending time with him for so long... but because of that I kinda neglect myself. So about my week, i learnt it the hard way that Self-care is super important, and the more social repsonsibility i take on, the more I need to listen to myself and know where my emotional limits are!
@bubbleBalsam6602
Hey there Balsam!
So sorry to hear that your week started off with a melt-down. I can certainly relate to that, and understand how challenging that can be. Its great to hear that you have recharged and that things are going better for you!
How great for you that you are looking at ways for continued improvement and that you have clearer direction for yourself! And that you are continuing in your leadership roles and programs! Great job to you .. Keep up the great work!
Way to go on healthier snacking! Thats the best thing to do... as if you want to snack healthier, the first steps are to make sure you have healthy snacks on hand! Another great job! ![]()
Oh I love that song Blue Velvet! My grandmother used to sing that lol... Thats a nice song. What a great color!
Managing our emotions at times can be challenging. Especially when it seems like so many things are going on around us at once. Its so great that you were able to take a step back and reflect on things for yourself. And that things were able to come together for you in a better way. And that it seem like you had some self-realization as well! Making and having time for ourselves is "mandatory"! We have to make that time, even if its seems like we dont' have the time, we have to schedule that time in there somewhere. But, hopefully you can take what you learned about yourself , and continue to apply it moving forward!
I'm so glad to see that you were able to realize how important "Self-Care" is. That is certainly a great realization moving forward for you.. and that you were also able to squeeze in some time to also bond with your step-brother as well. Perhaps moving forward, you could also take some time to reflect on your week ahead, and make a little schedule for yourself. Where you can schedule time for yourself as well as those you care about. That way you won't end up feeling so overwhelmed. Sometimes we just have to do those things in order to function in a more manageable way!
Best of luck to you on that moving forward, and thanks so much for checking in this week to let us know how you've been doing and how things are going for you!
**Hey Everybody! How have things been going this week?
hi, this week has been good for me, i had spring break so no classes. how was your week?
**This is our FIRST Check-In for the Month of APRIL! What are you looking forward to the MOST this month?!
i am looking forward to going to visit 2 colleges i got accepted to next week.
**As we start a new month, What goals would you like to focus on for yourself? What healthy habits would you like to continue to work on or create for yourself?
i want to work on self-care and just getting more into a routine. i haven't been taking care of myself that well.
**What have been your "Highlights or Struggles" this past week?
highlight is i stayed clean and didn't relapse this entire week. i'll be 9 days clean today if i stay that way. struggles, my other addiction has been worse.
