Hi! I'm new to 7 cups and would like to join this community.

My health right now is pretty good and I focus on it a lot, I workout 5-6 times a week, follow my personal nutrition rules on a 1650 calorie a day diet and am currently training for a 10K run with my dad. I'm a 16-year-old male and my goal for this month is to improve my relationship with food and myself.

I'm not sure how this works but I'm just gonna check in from my week so far and hopefully from now on do this every Monday

Monday- I took a rest day as I worked out a lot last week and was exhausted especially with school, I ate well and my meals were a breakfast of homemade granola and weet-bix, a lunch of baked beans, a dinner of chicken "pea pasta" ("pasta" made of beans) with vegetables and snacks of greek yoghurt, edamame, sweet potato and a quest bar

Tuesday- I went to the gym after school and pushed myself really hard, I did a 4k treadmill run, 20 mins of weight training and 5 minutes on the rower. I ate a breakfast of protein oats with greek yogurt, a lunch of a rye bread ham and cottage cheese sandwich, a dinner of poached salmon and vegetables and snacks of baked beans and two homemade healthy baked treats

Wednesday- I went to the gym before school! A great start to my morning, I did another 4ks on the treadmill at a fast speed and 20 mins of weight training. For breakfast, I had scrambled eggs on toast, for lunch I had beans with tuna, for dinner I had homemade pumpkin soup and my snacks were roasted chickpeas, halo top ice cream, a questbar and a homemade healthy cookie.

Thursday- is today! I'm not able to workout today as I'm celebrating my girlfriends birthday with her. I had a breakfast of a piece of bacon, a poached egg and toast and I've packed a lunch of a protein shake, baked beans and a "the bar counter" protein bar. For dinner I'm going to get sushi with my girlfriend and tonight I'll probably treat myself to some more halo top!

After today I'm on school holidays, I plan to work out a lot in the holidays, next week i go away to hawaii and i'll focus on staying fit with allowing myself some treats, and the place I'm staying has a gym so I'll continue to work out

I'm looking forward to being a part of this community!

Hey there!... Welcome to the Healthy Living Community! We are so glad to have you join here with us!...I'm "OCEAN" and I'm the Community Mentor leader here for the HL subcom.

It sounds like you are really on the right track for living a healthy lifestyle! And at such a young age, I must say I am TRULY IMPRESSED!...

Your eating plan sounds amazing, not only you ensuring that you are getting in the right combinations of "proteins and carbs" but you are eating some really amazing and healthy foods!... I must ask, do you make your own food, or does someone else prepare it for you? I was just curious if a parent perhaps still cooks for you or if you truly like making your own meals?!... Either way, you should be really proud of yourself for doing such an AWESOME job!

Do you like to "preplan" your meals or do you just go with the flow of how you feel or what you want to eat for that day?!.....

It sounds like you are surely VERY active and possibly athletic as well..... (I do feel theres a difference between the two since working out and getting in activity is slightly different from being a true "athlete".)... It sounds like you do alot of training that challenges many different areas. Thats really amazing! .... How did you get started on such a good regimine for yourself?!

Its good to hear that with you doing so much and challenging you body and health in so many ways, that you are also allowing time for REST Days! Those are so important to give our bodies a chance to rest and recouperate!.... and in between it all, you also manage to allow yourself "Treats" and not completely restrict yourself either from the things that you love like "Halo Top" icecream! lol.... I've seen many people try that~ I haven't tried it myself. Maybe one day?!

I hope that you and your girlfriend have a great time! And that you continue to keep up the great work that you are doing for yourself!....

We normally have our "WEEKLY CHECK-INS" at the end of the week on "SATURDAYS" so that we can let each other know how our weeks have gone~ At least thats when I always post the "NEW" one for the week ahead..... However you are very much welcome to check in the thread at any time during the week as well. I can also add you to our "Tag list" so that you will be able to see when I post the new thread each week!

Thanks so much for joining in and checking in this past week and letting us know how thing have been going for you!... I am going to get ready to post the NEW thread at midnight so that everyone else can comment on how their week went as well~ You are also welcome to check in that one too come Monday if that day works best for you!... There really are no rules on it smiley Have a great week! and keep up the awesome work!

@PoliteOcean Hey Ocean! Thanks for your response :)

Yeah I cook and preplan my own meals, I find it a lot easier to manage and know what I'm putting into my body if I'm making it all for myself, plus I just really enjoy baking and cooking

really appreciate your feedback, I'll definitely check in on the next thread :)
