**This past week has gone by decently enough.... Continued to keep on track with eating & workouts... Forgot to track my water for some reason... AND, My FITBIT died on me!
So.. .I was unable to keep track of my sleep. Funny enough though, the only thing it tracked right for me was my "Steps"!... But it wouldn't track my Heart-Rate or my Sleep. It was really strange. But I at least knew what I was doing in regards to my step count... so it was better than nothing. Another funny thing is that I just got this FitBit in April or May, so I only had it for a few months (after my one of TWO years died on me).... So it was odd that this one gave me trouble already... Fortunately FITBIT sent me yet 'Another' New one!...I never take this thing off.. My wrist is all dry and flakey!! LOLOLOLOL......
**We had rain a few days this past week, so... NO Swimming!
.... But its all good, I stayed so busy, I didn't even have time to go this week. I'm getting ready for my Step-dads' birthday this weekend, who is also sharing a birthday weekend with my PUPPY!! lolol... So we are having a "DOUBLE-Birthday" for the two of them! lolol...
So I've been trying to find gifts for both, and Doggie Cakes so he can have his own cake too! And then got him "groomed", and then I tried to "Tackle" some cleaning projects as well since it was rainy.. and teaching my usual classes.. So I've kept busy.
**I'd like to continue this month with finding "Balance" in everything.. Between teaching classes, studying for my exercise Certification, family time, and personal/self-care time..and continue to tackle some House-hold projects..... School will be starting back "next week" already in this area, and I'm just feeling concerned on how it will affect class participation for my POUND class.. (As I had some teachers who would come, and a few parents)...I'm just trying to keep the faith on that one since this is a new class for me.
**Today is supposed to be a 'Rest Day', Not sure what I am going to do today.. Its just going to be a FREE day, If I do something, cool, if Not, I won't beat myself up about it.. (or at least try not to)... I will at least try to get the required 10,000 steps in if nothing else. I got alot to do today, lots of errands... so that shouldn't be too challenging with all the running around I have to do and get done.
**HOPE EVERYONE ELSE HAS ENJOYED THEIR WEEK ![]()
@PoliteOcean
Hiya, Ocean! Happy Ambassadors Day! I know I really appreciate you and all the hard work you put into this community, and Im sure everyone in this community does too! ❤️
Woohoo, youre on a roll with exercising and eating healthy! Oh my, sounds like you mightve gotten unlucky this time with this Fitbit, but thank goodness the company sent you out another one! Did you receive it yet? Also, is it waterproof?
Ooh, what gift did you get your dog?! :D give him a pat for me please, and happy birthday to him and your stepdad! :D Ooh, are you making your own doggie cake, or trying to find someone who sells them? Also funny enough, it was my dogs birthday on Wednesday too! We celebrated his birthday today though, and put a ‘0 balloon around his head- he was so cute!!!
I hope the cleanup was good, and your place is nice and tidy! Perfect time to clean is when its rainy out, in my opinion. Not too hot. And wow, thats a lot of things youre juggling at the moment! Hmm, hopefully the class participation remains at an acceptable level for you, and youve been through this before with your other classes. There was always a first class for you to teach, and though this one is new to the fitness place... Ive got my fingers crossed for you! 🤞🏻
Yay! Rest days are great, and good luck getting all your errands done! It sounds like you might be low in energy/mood (not sure!) but remember to take care of yourself and pamper yourself :D you definitely deserve it! I hope you have a great week ahead! ❤️
@rebecca947
Hey there Rebecca!!..... I have FINALLY gotten the time this week to sit down and reply!.. I have been replying to everyone here and there throughout the week as its been a pretty busy one!...
Thank you so much for wishing me a Happy Ambassador Day! Its so greatly appreciated.. And thank you so much for ALL OF YOUR CONTINUED SUPPORT!...

Yes Fitbit was very gracious I guess in sending me a new one after taking awhile to try and trouble shoot from their end... The only thing is "No" its not a waterproof one.. I have one of the more expensive ones (The Fitbit BLAZE).. .BUT.... I the NEWER versions (The IONIC and the VERSA) both have everything the Blaze does as well as being "Waterproof" and being able to shower and swim in..... I wanted to get one of those, but one was out and the latest one was too expensive. So ... oh well!
And oh thank you so much for wishing my pup a Happy Birthday!.. I reallly appreciate it!.. He just turned 3... And I wish your Doggie a Very Happy "BELATED" Birthday as well!..... How awesome their birthdays are so close together lololol... Putting a little hat on him sound so cute! I hope you got a video of it! lol...
I ended up buying my dog just a little squeaky chew toy... and found a dog store that sells Cakes, cupcakes, and ALL KINDS of birthday stuff for Dogs, EVEN Icecream! So.... I got it all! lolol.....He had a blast!
I did end up having a great class on Tuesday!... Great participation and Awesome energy! Thanks so much again!!... Now I am moving on to respond to "Your" message as well!.. .hahaha...
@PoliteOcean
Ooft, hectic days :) dont miss those much, though sometimes busy is a blessing :p
Ahh, damn! Maybe when a new one comes out you can get a waterproof one thats available! I also had no idea Fitbit had so many versions lol
Thank you! Aww, 3! So cute ❤️ omg it sounds like he had a great birthday! All the treats and toys, so fun! Yes we took a good long video hahaha
Yayyyyyyy for good classes :D I hope it continues weekly :) xx
@PoliteOcean
Heya, Ocean! :) cant believe its been another week, and were into August already! How time flies!
I made my schedule but uh, havent stuck to it once yet this week xD yep, havent stuck to my planned exercise either! Though Ive walked our dog a few times this week I think, and uni is exercise enough xD not a huge campus, but I somehow always have to rush and speed walk to classes that are at the other end of the uni. And I had to power walk the 15 minutes from my uni to the station once because I was so silly and forgot my transport card! So I had to pay 4x the amount I usually would -_- and I had to do it three times that day! Yeah, I didnt realise I spend so much money on public transport until that day...
My eating has been worse than last weeks, but my water intake is great! Haha I have to thank a new bottle my mum gave me from when she went to Alaska a few months ago- I love the bottle and its huge! My sleep hasnt been the greatest either, and I got too tired so I slept for 12 hours xD though last night, I only slept for 3 hours. So, I reckon its going to be a very early night for me tonight again, and MAYBE I can get back on track with my schedule... or maybe Ill skip the exercise and shower and sleep in for two more hours... well see hahaha
Although I have gotten SOME study in, but I need to change my goals now. Ill be happy with just making notes for the week, and not worry about revising last semesters topics until next week. (Though I really must revise because it all builds on it... and its a content-heavy unit, eugh!)
This week was the first week of Semester Two at uni, and Ive met three of four of my tutors! Theyre all really nice which is a great change from last semester. Im meeting my class lab supervisor in the coming week, which also means I have practicals which are ugh xD Im trying to change my mindset about the unit (anatomy and physiology) so hopefully one day Ill start to enjoy learning it haha
Hmm, havent made new friends yet, but I met someone whos very similar to a friend I already made back in semester one xD so maybe we could be friends? Who knows, only time will tell I guess. One tutorial was about eye contact, so we had to talk to our class partner for 5 minutes without looking away xD interesting activity, and not as awkward as I expected it to be! Another tutorial for a different unit, we discussed critical thinking and whether or not we believed if ghosts, aliens and the flat earth were real :p odd thing is, my friend in another uni studying a completely different degree to me talked about the exact same thing in her tutorial xD
Hmm, tomorrow, the school opposite our house is holding a fiesta/school party for the community! It happens every year, and Im so excited haha and theyll have fireworks! Definitely excited to see them. Think thats it for me! Just a try-to-study week :p how do you get motivated to study for your certification, Ocean?!
I hope you have a great week ahead! ❤️
@rebecca947
Hey there Rebecca!..... I am so glad that I am finally getting a chance to respond to you today!... I'm so sorry that it took so long!... Its been so hectic this past week , and I have been trying to respond to everyone throughout the week starting with the smaller posts and then working my way up! lol...
Sorry to hear that you weren't able to stick to your planned schedule... That happens though, Life just seems to take over sometimes and we get "behind" on things....But sounds like you were still able to get in some great activity by walking your dog AND walking around the Uni!..So it all still counts!!
Sounds like you also had a few stressors as well?! Sorry to hear that , but I'm glad you got it all sorted out even if you had to spend more money than you wanted.
Its great that your water intake is going well for you despite not being able to stay on track with food... Perhaps all the water will help to flush out your system of any toxins and such from stuff you may not have wanted to eat!
I do hope that you were able to get back on track with your sleep schedule... Seems like when your is off, Mine is on and then Vice/Versa! hahah...
I'm really glad to hear that you are enjoying and connecting with the tutors you have met!! Yay!! Its always great to have a positive connection with anyone we meet!....
And sorry to hear that you felt you hadn't made any friends yet, but by the sounds of your personality, I'm SURE that WON'T be a problem for you!... You are just the sweetest person! Who "wouldn't" enjoy having a chance to meet you and know you!! Your awesome!! And you will make plenty of friendships this semester!...
Also your tutorials sounds AWESOME!.. Sounds like so much fun!! How did that all go for you???!!!... I don't think I would have been able to hold eye contact for that long.. I have tried that in the past, I start to feel weird and my eyes started burning hahahahah...... The GHOST tutorial sounds really interesting! I would love to hear more about all of these and the outcome!!
Also by the time you read this, I'm sure you have enjoyed the Fiesta already!!.. How did that go?! Did you have fun!?
Also, i REALLY wish I knew HOW to get motivated to study.. Studying has NEVER been my thing lolol... I have had my book for about 2 weeks now and have barely opened it up!!!... I haven't even scheduled my test yet... I'm so glad I still have SIX more months or so left, but I know that it will all go very fast!... I need to start cracking down , but its finding the time thats an issue for me... I do hope that you find some motivation as well!.. I wish you all the best with that and your new semester at Uni!!!....
I hope you are having a great week so far!... ... Talk to you soon!!

@PoliteOcean
Haha its fine! Its good to hear you have your priorities in check :) this site is volunteering work after all, sometimes I have to remind myself of that too. Not that I do too much on here :p but Im on here more often than Id like sometimes!
Haha I hope the water does its magical thing! Also a good thing (well, not really lol) that Im always so thirsty- Ive been drinking a lot more water to make up for lost days! Haha so Im wondering if youd sleep schedule is still going on? Cos mines still off 🤣
Aww, thank you ❤️ I did make a new friend yesterday but that was for an extracurricular uni program Im in haha
The eye contact was ok, though I did feel some weird pressure to not blink! But I just reminded myself it wasnt a no blinking contest 🤣 the ghost one was indeed interesting! This week wasnt as interesting though xD
Yes, the fiesta was great! I also bought a book from my favourite author, which is amazing :) excited to read it- I have it right next to me at the moment! But study calls first haha there were drummers and dancers and gymnasts... and of course fireworks and rides and food!
Ahh, finding time is indeed hard! I find making a weekly plan of what I want to get done that week helps me sometimes. But Im testing a new system which is just getting good hours of study done, and doesnt matter what unit I study that day. Im hoping it works, and I hope you manage to find time and a system that works for you! 6 months does fly by, which is odd because it sounds so long haha
@rebecca947
Hey Rebecca!
Yes.. so true. I know this is only for volunteering time here at 7cups... But you ALL have been so AMAZING here in the community and responding to the check-ins... I LOVE hearing about everyone's week and how things have been going. Its so great to see what everyone has been up to, and also get to learn more about all of you on the other end of the computer screen! hahaha....So I feel that its very important to me to be sure to let you all know how thankful and grateful that I am that you continue to take the time to let me and each other know how things have been going.... Its helpful to hear other's stories and to know that we're not alone in trying to stay on track!
It's great that you have been so thirsty....I will tell you more about my water intake in this weeks check in!.... But lets just say its been going rather well.... and also the sleep... I'm sorry to hear that yours has still been off a little.. but I guess we all tend to go in cycles with these things.. we won't always be on track or perfect with any of it for the long haul.....
I'm glad you enjoyed the Fiesta!.. Sounds like you did have a great time..... and Yay for a new book! You will have to share more about that in this weeks check-in and tell us more about what its all about!!... Also I really do want to hear MORE about how that GHOST tutorial went too!... I LOVE anything that deals with Ghost stuff lolol...... Movies, books, shows etc....
Also, yes, making a weekly plan is a GREAT idea... unfortunately for "me" whenever I try to do that, it just doesn't seem to fall together like I hope for or like I picture in my mind! lol....I'd LOVE to hear more about your NEW System on of getting study hours in! Please share!!!!..
(Also, I dont' think I asked what all you did for you little guy (doggie) on his birthday??!! ).... I hope he enjoyed his day!
@PoliteOcean
Thats true, too! It is nice to know about everyones lives and remember that were all humans and not robots mechanically typing away behind the mask of a screen.
Haha Ill try to remember to include all of that in my next checkin! Excited to hear about your water intake and how its going well :D
As for my doggo, my mum took him for a birthday walk and let him run around in our local oval off leash, and then on the weekend when we all could celebrate, he got a crunchy treat shaped as a bone, and we played with him for a while outside :p
I was away on vacation last week and missed the check-in. It rained most of the week so I did less outdoorsy stuff than I wanted, but got in a long hike and some kayaking towards the end of the week. I also ate a lot of junk and drank a lot of alcohol. This week I have been eating really well, though still drinking a lot. I planned to hike every day but we had scattered thunderstorms every day, so I only managed it twice. They were short but good ones!
I go back to work/school on Monday, and I am very worried about the constant food temptations there. I ended the last school year with all my pants tight, and hoped to lose 10 pounds this summer. I did not lose any, so I'm starting back with tight clothes to begin with, and no more self control than before. I did some cooking this week and got some meals in the freezer, so my meals will be mostly good for a while, and I will cut back on the alcohol to weekends only like I did last year. I just can't resist the constant candy, cookies, etc. at the school, and I have no one there to support me in not eating it. Everyone around me not only eats it, but gives me a hard time when I don't.
@SadMe70
Hey there SAD!... I knew you were away, so I figured thats why we didn't hear from you last week..... Sorry to hear that it rained for most of the week but its good that you managed to get in the things that you wanted to do even if at the end of the week. Its understandable that you got a little off track as well with junk and such... Its a get-away and those things do tend to happen even when we have the BEST intentions for them NOT to!... But sounds like you were able to come back and work towards getting yourself back on track by getting back to eating well again.
Looks like now as I am posting this, that you have already started back to work..... That time sure does seem to fly doesn't it?.... I know there are so many temptations working at the school.. between the lunches, the snacks, catered food, and free food that others bring in, it can surely put a challenge on trying to stay on track. But question is WHAT CAN "YOU" DO for yourself to manage to stay on track. Its not about what "anyone" else wants!.. They dont have to fit in your clothes, they don't have to struggle with getting off un-wanted weight etc.... And if it were me, I would just let them know that I am trying to live the best life that I can. To not only be healthier but to just simply "Feel" better in all that I do!... And is that "extra cake, snack, goodie, or temptation" worth it? IF it is, then ok... But if you know that it isn't... find some things that you can take with you that will work for you. Perhaps some healthier options or versions.... AND CHUGGING your water... Water will keep you fuller as well... Chew sugarless gum as well. That can also help with snacking when you dont' want to.
Its great that you went ahead and already got some meal prepping and planning out of the way as well! Great job! Just remember , even though you dont' have the support "there" that you need, you DO have the support HERE at 7cups!! Just remember POLITEOCEAN'S words as you are back at work.... saying "SAD, YOU GOT THIS"! "YOU CAN DO THIS" ""YOU DON'T NEED CANDY, COOKIES, CAKES GOODIES" to be Happy!...![]()
........
You can do this girl!... I know you can... Its hard, I know it is.. I live it everyday too... . but you can do it. We can do this. You have to decide what you want MORE!... Hang in there my friend.. I'm here for you!... Thanks for checking in this week and good luck on your first week back to work!...
@PoliteOcean Thank you so much for your supportive words! I have been good so far this week. Tomorrow is our first monthly staff birthday celebration, and our entire staff kitchen will be filled with goodies. There are usually some healthy things mixed in, so I will try to grab some and get out quickly before the cookies etc. can tempt me! I will keep your words in my head when I go into the kitchen tomorrow!
>Just remember POLITEOCEAN'S words as you are back at work.... saying "SAD, YOU GOT THIS"! "YOU CAN DO THIS" ""YOU DON'T >NEED CANDY, COOKIES, CAKES GOODIES" to be Happy
Keeping up with exercise and healthy eating. Keeping weight in check. Not sure how I caught a cold in the summer, could be allergy. Has slowed my exercise routine. Feeling better this week. Making the best of nice weather with plenty of fresh air. Enjoy your weekend.
How has everyone been doing this week?
Up and down, scared, overwhelmed, and as usual I hate myself. I feel like I'm worn so thin I'm about to tear.
What things are you looking forward to in the new month ahead?
Working on the baby blanket some more :)
To be quite honest, I just feel this . . . dull resignation about everything else.
I'm definitely not looking forward to my church being closed for the month - even aside from the explicitly religious stuff, I can feel okay there. It's like I actually get a little bit of strength back instead of spending it constantly.
What are your goals or plans for this month? What would you like to accomplish?
I would like to get through it. I would like to go to sleep each night without thinking, "maybe I won't wake up, how cool would that be?"
This is where I'd usually say "I want to finish the baby blanket," but I . . . really kind of don't. I just want to work on it indefinitely :P
What have been your highlights over this past week? What are your weekend plans?
Well, I told my parents about the feelings I keep having. They said it sounds like anxiety and we should look at counselling (plus medication if that turns out to be necessary). My mom gave me a choice of secular counselling or just talking to my minister; I chose Rev. [Name] because I feel at least a little bit safe and comfortable with her (and, if she can't help me directly, she knows what other options are available). The downside of that: she's away for the month of August and I am quite seriously reaching the end of my ability to help myself.
Weekend plans: realistically, I'll probably just sit and cry a lot.
What things would you like to talk about or share with us?
Well, I could have hoped for supportive reactions from my friends instead of "don't trust yourself to church officials, they just want to take away who you are" and "but everyone feels like that! It'll go away."
Like . . . forgive me for trying to get better? Forgive me for trusting Rev.? I don't know what they want to hear, really, and I'm afraid they're upset with me.
Today I went to the chiropractor for the first time in several years. I got electrical stimulation therapy as well as an adjustment. Early this week I got a deep tissue massage for the first time in several years also.
