@PoliteOcean I want your dog
@TortueDesBois
**Keeps Tort away from my dog so they don't steal it!** ;)
@PoliteOcean

I seem to be back into the pattern of do more than typical and then need days for recovery. Right now physically I feel awful. I'm having trouble finding anything all the interesting because of how much the fatigue is taking over. I'm happy though, I did things I enjoyed the past 3 days. Yesterday the major energy drainer got thrown onto me that day, and I would have planned less (I already had time-specific blood work and a massage booked) had it be known beforehand. I was glad I was able to do it though. I just hope recovery goes quickly. Sometimes too I forget that my recover isn't just about rest, it's about infusions. I'll do one today and if that's not enough I probably won't be feeling much better Sunday night.
I was hoping to make it to a festival this long weekend. Perhaps Monday, we'll see. If I go I plan to sit a whole bunch while I'm there!
@AffyAvo
Its great you were still able to do some of the things that you enjoyed for 3 days!.. Thats still a great "positive". And as you stated, hopefully your recovery will go quickly for you and you will be able to enjoy some of that Festival. Let us know how that went and if you had the chance to make it and enjoy yourself. Thank you for checking in and letting us know how things have been going for you!
@PoliteOcean Thanks! I decided not to go to the festival. I'm feeling better, but that one is really tough on me.
The only way to get there is to walk down then up a big hill on the way back plus park a fair distance away or take buses.
Yesterday there were was a record for the number of people who went and the buses were backed up for hours. Being on a bus isn't the best place for me to start with and it's much worse with more people (that means more allergens) plus the heat.
Today probably would be a better day to go, it's cool and raining but still, even with good bus trips it would probably put me close to bed rest for multiple days and right now just doesn't' feel worth it. I hope they eventually expand it to week days (today is Heritage Day, a holiday and the reason the festival is on) but most are volunteers for the different cultures so it would probably be difficult to run.
@PoliteOcean Exercise and water intake have been great. Food...not so much. I have been eating too many sweets :(
@Mellietronx
AWESOME on the Water and exercise!...
However, I too kind of had my fair share of "sweets" this past week, and I'm not even that much of a "sweet"-eater!?!.... But its ok... we get off track sometimes, but the important thing is, is that we know when we are falling short of our goals and we recognize what we did, and what we have to do to get back on track... So no worries! You can do it! Thank you so much for checking in this week and letting us know how things have been going! Keep up the great work that you are doing with that water and exercise! Great job!
I think I missed last week's check-in. I was away for a week with my family in the mountains. I took 3 kayak trips and 1 long hike. I more than offset the exercise with eating way too much junk and alcohol. This week I have been eating really well and did not overdo the treats or the alcohol. I go back to work (at a school) on Monday and it is non-stop junk food there, so it will be hard to keep on track. I am trying to psyche myself up to resist. I have exercised pretty well this week also. One visit to the Y, two shorter hikes, and one hard (for me) online cardio workout.
@SadMe70
Hey there Sad!... So great to hear from you... Its awesome that you were able to get away with your family... I have been begging my son to learn to take some time off work and just learn to "relax and get away". But long ago are the days that I can get him to do those types of things with us anymore since he doesn't like to take time off...I hope that you enjoyed yourself. you deserve it!.... Its great that you have been staying on track and eating well this past week and not over-doing the treats!... (I too have fallen short of that goal at the beginning of last week with 1/2 price off of Cheesecake Factory cheesecakes!)
.... But I tried to make up for it this week in workouts, but it caught up with me! lol.....
Sounds like you are starting back to work the same time our school starts here...I hope you have a great FIRST day back to your work-week..and that the "temptations" there do not get the best of you~ I hope to hear from you next week on how your first week back went! Take care and thanks for checking in this week and letting us know how you've been doing! ![]()
I had a good week, in terms of cardio. I went biking several times, and inline skating.
I also bought some healthy groceries with fresh fruit, almond milk, veggies, and fish.
My week went very well here in 7Cups. I met new members and did some interesting posting like pictures. I had a good start earlier in the day and end with bang of disappointment. However life goes on... so it is time to look into other opportunities and keep marching on.
I've been keepingup with bikram yoga classes which have been really great for both mind and body - plus I enjoy the challenge. One thing that's been bugging me though is how hot and cold my opinion of my own body has been this week. One second I like the way I look and the next I am self criticising to the point of no return and it does not feel good! Does anyone have any tips on feeling good about yourself? What do you guys do to promote a positive self image?
@chrissyh
Hi Chrissy! Its great that you have been doing great and positive things that are healthy and that you enjoy.
Don't beat yourself up, or be too hard on yourself. We all have things about ourselves that we may not like, or may find difficult or challenging to change. Things that I personally like to do to promote postive self image are to do whatever makes me "feel good"! Whether its just simply taking a shower and taking care of myself, to trying a new hair style, to wearing make-up when I leave the house, to simply doing things like a shopping trip, and getting a new outfit, or new workout clothes that make me feel good, or make me look good. Or even just trying something like a new perfume, a new body lotion, to getting a pedicure and wearing a really cute pair of sandals to show it off!....
There are many things that we can do or try to promote "postivity" in our life, our day, or overall wellbeing!..... There are going to be days that we might feel down about ourselves, but the important thing is to "not" stay in that place, but to do things that we enjoy, make us feel good, or even simply talking about it, and about our feelings (even if coming here to 7cups!)....
Thank you so much for checking in this week with us and letting us know how you've been doing! Keep up the great work that you have been doing! Every little step counts!
@DragonFaerie
Wow... you've had quite the week!!..Lol..... I'm very curious to know how things turned out with the "Lexus"!... I bet it was quite crazy and confusing as well! I hope it all got taken care of!....And sorry to hear that the garage was broken into its just good that nothing terrible happened and nobody got hurt!........... I know how it is when the "hubby" goes out of town, Its not a great sleep situation when mine is gone either. I usually have my son come and stay with me though. ...
And wow, 30+ days is a long time! I hope you find time to remember a little "self care" as well! You are important too! We surely have to take care of ourselves, as no one else can do that for us..........Its also a great thing that you remembered your water bottle , its very beneficial to get in that water and stay hydrated. Great job on that!
Sorry to hear about the Fibro pain, but its a good thing that you were still able to be productive and get things done and completed through it all! And I know how accomplished you must feel by doing that AND making that "Step goal"! Congrats!!.....And its great that you were able to complete your pet-sitting job.. Kuddos to you on all that hard work! I hope that it paid off greatly for you!......I hope now that all this is behind you , that you can get the proper Rest time that you and your body need!..... Keep up the great work, thank you so much for checkin in with us and letting us know about how you been doing and how your week went!....Now go get some rest and take care of yourself! lol!!
Have been consistent with swimming laps this summer. Has helped in keeping stress levels low. Wish summer was longer.
@sail46
Thats great Sail!... And yes, I totally agree.. This summer here was like 'Blink and you missed it". The pool here has already gone back to just "weekends only" here since school started back this week.I will miss swimming daily.. I wish the whole year could be summer. (Or at the very least Summer and Fall, and skip winter and spring! lol)...
Glad to hear that its keeping your stress levels low.....Keep up the great work and thank you for checking in this week and letting us know how you've been doing!
