**This past week has been pretty decent...... I was simply looking forward to finishing up my week so that I could look forward to taking some time off from teaching classes, and everything that goes into that. And to be able to just focus on getting ready for the Christmas holiday, getting the last of my gifts taken care of and planning for the upcoming week ahead with various other things....I was able to get my activity in through teaching classes, (but water, sleep and other things haven't been on track the best) at this time.

**I held a little "Christmas class" with my ZUMBA GOLD class at the beginning of the week, passed out giftbags to them, and added some Holiday songs and choreo. Pretty much all of them showed up which was great. Then they gave me a Card and a Gift as well! It was a really nice class and we had a great time..... My other regular classes went as scheduled, and some of my regulars gave me some gifts, cards and gift certificates as well!... I wasn't expecting any of it in the least! So its been a great week with them.

**I really am glad to have this time off over the next two weeks. I really need it. My body and mind need it so that I can re-evaluate some things and simply get my thoughts in order..... I spent today adding some finishing Christmas touches to the house, and Wrapping some gifts. I got most of them done, but still have the other half to do..... I have some last minute shopping to do tomorrow to get a few more things for the week.

**We will be having a Christmas EVE get together here at our home (just my parents and son and us)... and then Spend Christmas Day at my Parents house for dinner etc...

ENJOY THE WEEKEND~ ENJOY THE HOLIDAY!~

Feeling good, healthwise and moodwise.

We don't celebrate Christmas, but I studied in a Catholic school. So it's a nostalgic time in a way.

Might go for a camping. No other plans. To stay healthy, will keep doing what I have been doing right.

Merry Christmas 🎄

@PoliteOcean Here is how the past week went. Monday I had a therapy appointment, and we finally talked about my creepy roomie Ken from college. One thing I mentioned by email to my therapist is why I attract so many toxic people into my life. It probably won't be covered in our next session, but something to put on the back burner to be discussed as we proceed. Thursday my caretaker took me for a walk. Friday I had a failed appointment with my psychiatrist, but we re-scheduled for Dec 31st. For this upcoming week I have another therapy appointment on Monday, and then Wednesday I'm going back to my mother's condo so I can move stuff around, and maybe take a few small things with my back to my crowded space here at the group home. The house manager is doing a better job of keeping my creepy roomie in his bedroom when his diapers smell bad. I'm still cooking my own lunches, which makes me happy. No plans for Christmas. I just wish there was something I could do to speed up my recovery. I'm putting a lot of faith into my acupuncture, but my first appointment isn't until January 15th.

@Regmo

Hey there Regmo!...Thats great that you were able to talk about the things that you wanted to during your appointment. Its a great feeling when appointments feel productive. And its good to have a list (so to speak) of the things that you really want to address at some point during Therapy sessions. The more things addressed, hopefully the more beneficial and better the outcome of the things you are trying to work on for yourself. How nice that you were able to get out and get a walk in the fresh air. Sorry to hear about your appointment not working out, but its so good that you won't have to wait too much longer to get rescheduled for it! I hope that you are able to get the things you are wanting from your moms condo and that you are able to make some space for it all. Not sure how much you have or how big or small the items are. Maybe you could get a cabinet or trunk of some sort to help put some of the things in if they aren't too big? And its great that your house manager is taking steps to help you with the roomie that you are continuing to have issues with. I'm sure its challenging to deal with. Thats so great to hear that you are still able to work on and cook your own lunches. I know how important that is to you. And I'm sure much more beneficial to your health as well. I can understand how you feel about wishing and wanting to "speed up" your own recovery. I can personally empathize with that feeling. Its so great that you have a "faith" to hold onto that your treatments will help. Its so important to think positive and keep a positive attitude. Even though its not until Jan. 15th, It will be here before you know it!... I can't believe we are practically & nearly a week away from a whole new year already. It will go fast for sure. Thanks so much for checking in this week and continuing to keep us up to date on things. I hope that you have a great week ahead!

**We are less than a week away from Christmas already!? Time is going so fast... How are you doing? What are some ways you might be coping with any holiday last minute stressors this past week?

Because of covid, it was rather difficult to buy presents for everyone which gave me immense anxiety because I'm super worried that the gifts I got aren't good enough. I don't know how to cope with that so I just drown in my anxiety.

**How many of you will Celebrate Christmas? What are you looking forward to the MOST in the coming week ahead? How will you spend your holidays?

I will celebrate Christmas but since I'm not religious I just stick to love and compassion side of it. I'll use the holidays to catch up on the massive pile of books I wanted to read this year.

**What are some "Healthy" ways/options that you can incorporate to stay on track during Christmas? What healthy dishes, treats, meals or "swaps" could you choose?

As a vegan, I won't eat traditional Christmas food, so when everyone will eat goose I stick to vegetables. I also baked a lot of vegan cookies which aren't as unhealthy as non-vegan ones.

**Just for Fun: ..... WHAT IS YOUR FAVORITE CHRISTMAS SONG or CAROL?

Last Christmas

**What have been your "Highlights or Struggles" this past week? How did you work through the Struggles?

My highlights were definitely the free time that came with the holidays.

@galaxyGirl299

Hey there!

So sorry to hear that you are feeling anxious about the gifts you got. I know this year has brought so many different challenges for many. Whether financially or just being able to get out and do the things we need or want to do. I'm sure whatever you decided on or chose to get for those you care about will be much appreaciated! Its the thoughts behind it all. And the fact that you went out of your way to think of them, and get them something truly is enough! Your gifts are enough and you are enough!

I'm not sure I really know anyone thats really "religious" so to speak... I think the majority of those I know just love the "ideas" of the Christmas season. Being with those we care about, the magic and beauty and JOY of it all!. And those are the things that make it a wonderful time of year.

How nice that you are Vegan... Good for you for being able to keep it healthy and make good choices for yourself! Vegan cookies sound really good!

OHHH... I too love the song 'LAST CHRISTMAS"!.. What a great choice!

"FREE TIME"... Yes... I too enjoy the Free Time we get this time of year. Another reason why its one of my favorites. It will be really nice to wind-down and relax a bit!

Thank you so much for checking in this week and simply letting us know how you are doing. Hope that you enjoy the week and your Christmas!

Hey there! Thats great that you week went well for you!

Its good that things are currently going well for you and that you are staying on top things for yourself! Keeping your surroundings clean, journaling your thoughts and emotions, and keeping up with a self-care routine are all very important to your over-all wellbeing!

How nice that you will be spending your Christmas with your boyfriend and parents. And what a good idea to limit sweets to keep things healthier for yourself.

Jingle Bells is surely a fun, great and timeless Christmas classic!

How nice that you were able to celebrate and have a nice, small Christmas dinner and get-together with your friends. Its nice to be able to do and have some "normalcy" during these times and this time of year as well.

Thanks so much for checking in this week and letting us know how things are continuing to go for you. Sounds like things have been going pretty well and that you will have a great Christmas holiday ahead!

Well well well I thought I’d have the time to check in to last week’s check in but I never found the time and it’s already a new week! Thankfully Christmas break has started so I’m going to be able to breathe a little. I’m not really looking forward the celebration though, I’m going to my mother’s place for the break but yeah, I’m so used to living on my own now that it just feel uncomfortable to be spending so much time away, without all my stuff and freedom. I just really hope that at least my mother won’t be stressed by all the preparations for Christmas, because I know I won’t have the patience to handle how she gets when she’s stressed.

Last week ended both good and bad, for the good part I had another productive meeting, which helped me understand a lot more about statistics and now I know I’m heading in the right direction when it comes to treating my data, I should be there soon! But for the bad part, my annoying coworker gave me some results she got months ago (on samples she shouldn’t have even used without me) and they’re just really bad, there’s nothing to get from them and it will have to be done again (if we even have enough from the starting material), it’s time and money lost. And it just really pissed me off that she’d give me the results like that, without admitting any mistake, because it’s totally okay to do a mistake but it’s not okay at all to not recognize it and to pretend it’s all fine when it’s obviously not… I chose not to tell her anything though and to wait to cool down during these two weeks. I’m really hoping to get back some patience during this break because I’ve really had enough with this coworker!

As always, working out has been really helpful to let out all the stress and frustration! I guess food has been alright, sleep as well, I’ve also been able to paint and read a bit!

I’m hoping to rest during the holidays, and take time to catch up with articles I should have read the past few months now that I’m less busy.

This was long sorry! Take care everyone!

@LinearWaves

Hey there Waves!... Yeah you were missed last week!

How nice that you are finally on a break and have a chance to "breathe"! I totally know and understand that feeling!!

Sorry to hear that you aren't looking forward to things at the moment due to the situation of being away from your own surroundings and the possible stessors with your mom. I do understand how that can be! And hopefully thats all it turns out to be for you, is just "thoughts" of it and nothing more. Hopefully you will find that it all goes well and you continue to enjoy your break and your holiday at your moms!

How great for you that your meeting was productive and that you are continuing to head in your desired directions! But wow.. so sorry to hear that things still aren't going all that great with your co-worker. Is there anyone else in management that you can talk to about the situation with her? Or better yet, have you been able to talk to "her" about your issues with them (or at least about the issues that are affecting your work & projects together)? Not sure if that will help, but bringing the issues to light and making them face what they are doing (or lack there-of) might be beneficial going forward in some way? But thats just a thought of course! It sounds like a tough situation either way. But certainly one that I personally would have to "nip in the bud" somehow! Theres' no way I could personally deal with "incompetence" . Thats just a pet-peeve of mine for sure! lol.... I wish you all the best with that situation moving forward as I can totally "feel" your frustration with all this as I'm reading it.

How great that you've been able to continue getting in your workouts, painting And reading! All great stress-relievers!....And yes... by all means REST Up during this time!!.. That is my motto these next two weeks!

And NEVER worry about your posts being long!! Thats what this is for! To Check-in AND to VENT!!... Take care of yourself and hope that you have a Wonderful Christmas Holiday and Break!! Thank you for checking in this week!

@PoliteOcean

Yes I’m definitely hoping that it’s only thoughts and anxiety! Thankfully I should have things to do so at least if things aren’t going too well I will be busy.

As for this coworker, it’s just really tough, everyone knows the problem but because of the system (a lab isn’t a firm, it depends on the university so yes there’s a boss of the lab but it isn’t the employer) there’s not much to do about it… And she is very good in faking, being in denial plus playing the victim, so I know talking to her about it will only end up in her faking she did everything she could and getting angry, as it happened several times already… I will talk to her in January about that and other things and see how much I can push, and I will sure talk to my phd directors about it to let them know, but unfortunately I don’t think much can be done... except being even more careful about everything she does and double/triple-checking everything she does/says, which is quite annoying as she is supposed to bring me her expertise and not the other way around!

Enjoy your rest and thanks for your kind words, as always really appreciated! Plus it’s really good to be able to vent and get a real insight about it <3
