**Things have been ok this past week, some areas could have been better, but I'm trying to focus on the positives...... I stayed on track and plan with everything this week, got in an app't, my classes went very well this week and I even got in TONS of water without even trying.
**By Thursday I was having a personal issue which caused me some anxiety and stress... and it caused me to have to slow down, and just take a step back. So I decided to do nothing but Rest all day Thursday and again on Friday. But by doing that, I managed to catch up on some much needed sleep and rest my body.
**I've been done with my Christmas decorating since Thanksgiving week, and so glad that I decided to do it early, so I didn't have to stress over getting it done this week.... Most of my Christmas shopping is done.... I just have a few small things to get like stocking stuffers, giftcards.... but most of the major stuff is now out of the way....
**Today is my usual FREE Day.... The weather has been alternating with chilly weather, and mild weather, but this weekend is supposed to be really chilly, and possible flurries. So, I don't have any plans to do much but hopefully relax some more and catch up on some things around the house that need attending to.
ENJOY THE WEEKEND~![]()
**How have things been going for you this week? It's my birthday, but I'm going to wrapping Christmas gifts and cleaning, organizing and what I truly live, writing.
**How has the FIRST week of December been for you? What things have gone well for you this past week? I got to do some Christmas shopping, so I'm was excited about that. However it seems once I got the packages, I wasn't as happy. I'm not sure why. I'm happy I actually got gifts for everyone this year, but I feel like my depression is weighing me down, sigh.
**How many of you stayed on track/plan with things this past week? I accomplished 75% of my to do with being exhausted.
**For those of you who are decorating/celebrating the Christmas season, how are your plans going?Shopping, Decorating? i shopped, but im not decorating. I usually love baking but i currently do not have a conventional oven, sigh. At least i will not gsin too much weight.
**What have been your "highlights" this past week? What are your weekend plans? I wrote some, shopping (love amazon), and organized some.
**What things would YOU like to talk about or share with us?! WE want to hear from YOU!!
a friend of mine thinks I'm schizoeffective but I just always thought the pieces in my head were muses.
@Rebekahwriter13
Hey there Rebekah!.. Hope that you enjoyed your birthday?!.... And hope that you accomplished all that you set out to do that day.
Its not un-usual to feel happy one moment and sad the next this time of year... (Even with or without depression)... Its what they call the "Holiday Blues".. and I think they can happen at any moment during the holiday season.. We may not even be able to explain "why" it happens all the time.. But If it is your own actual depression, I hope that you managed to find a method that brought you through it all to help you feel better. (such as your writing)?!
Sounds like you got alot accomplished? 75% Is a pretty great number?!
I think thats one of the only times of the year I don't mind "baking" so much is during the Holidays.. Now I can't actually "cook or bake" very well (I think I told you that before lol).. But I do love experimenting with Cookies, and treats, and a simple holiday recipe for the family..... WHAT are some things that you like to bake during the Christmas season?
Thanks so much for checking in again this week.. Its always great to continue to hear from you and see how you are doing each week!
@PoliteOcean why do our moods change with the holidays?
I know why mine mood changed today. My step mom and I don't see eye to eye. I had been cheated on my ex and when I was struggling with my health, he wanted to be with his online role play thing. Anyway, my step mom took me in and instead of trying to figure out why inhad mental issues, she pushed paxil down my throat. I said I had bad reactions to them such as nightmares, stomache issues and negative, harsh life threatening thoughts. She told me keep taking the pills, it will work through. . . Over a year I was still having them.
My ptsd moment caused a major break down, we were in a car accident and nightmares were so bad, it was impossible to sleep. She drove home more concerned over her adoptive daughter than me. I hurt my shoulder, but she assissated we didnt need help,
About two weeks of barely sleeping, She said i gave her attitude . . . I really looked up to her, but once she had her adopted daughter I felt like my brother and I didn't count anymore. We were just to keep her busy until the moment where she gets her own kid. Needlessly to say, my attitude if i had, wasnt due to the baby, it was because i was exhausted, scared, depression, fear, abandonment, and feeling alone.
I had a break down and I called my real mom as I wasn't even invited to my step mom holiday plans. We were official out of the family. At least it how I felt.
I break down once my cell phone dies andnstepmom yells at me. I told her about my suicide thoughts and she told me to go to homeless schedule.
I never had truly dark feeling until I started that paxil.
I finally get on my old facebook that has that side of my family on it. My stepmom claims im toxic and that I should have to be called family. I miss my brothers and my dad, but I do not want to a wedge between them and my stepmom so I quietly miss them
Weather has been good so outdoor walking has been the main exercise. Finding my appetite seems to increase during cool weather. Have to stay on track and be careful what I eat. Getting ready for Christmas, you are right not to wait for last minute and get stressed. Was a busy week but kept things going without major stress. Weeks are flying by, it seems like September was last week. Enjoy the rest of your weekend.
@sail46
Its good that you are still able to get out to continue walking!... Its been so chilly and rainy here on the days I am able to go with my mom, that We haven't really been able to keep going on a "regular" basis like we were........
I think the reason you are "finding your increase in appetite" is because of the time of year it is.. with it getting darker earlier, having to "hibernate" in the house earlier, less sunshine during the day, and less activity to be truthful (even though you are still walking and getting it in).. but we are still probably in the house most of the time? Which makes it all easier to want to "Pick" at foods?!... Even if we don't even want or need them. Its good though that you are recognizing that, and simply plan to stay on track and be "mindful" of it all!
Yes the weeks are certainly flying by!.. I swear we had colorful leaves on our trees just "last" week, and now this week they are all gone?!... I can't believe we are only a few short weeks away from a brand new year?!... Its crazy to think about again!.....
Thanks so much for checking in this week, and letting us know how things are going for you!.... See you next week!
**How have things been going for you this week?
Hey! So this has been a week of changes and ups and downs. I just moved to another country to find a better life and I'm still adjusting. I hope to be more active here on 7 cups so if you have any advice :D
**How has the FIRST week of December been for you? What things have gone well for you this past week?
As I said, many ups and downs. I'vve connecting with family but I have to look for a job in this new country so yeah.
**How many of you stayed on track/plan with things this past week?
I haven't been on track at all, today is when I've finally gotten soething done. I hope to keep it up.
**For those of you who are decorating/celebrating the Christmas season, how are your plans going? Shopping, Decorating?
I love decorating but being in a new house, of which I'm not the owner makes it hard. I'm gonna help as much as I can when the decorating begins, hopefully this next week, +fingers crossed*
**What have been your "highlights" this past week? What are your weekend plans?
Some highlights can be that I'm connecting with my family, some family menbers that I hadn't seen in years an tha live in this new country I moved to.
My weekend plans are to start the search for a job! Wish me luck!
**What things would YOU like to talk about or share with us?! WE want to hear from YOU!!
Thank you for reading me!
@SeaSlytherin
Hey there!.. Oh wow! A WHOLE NEW COUNTRY!!?? (I'm pretty sure I will probably never utter those words in my life)... I haven't ever really even been to another country yet outside the U.S. territory... Let alone move to another one... That is quite a change?!... .................Do you mind me asking What country you used to live in and which one you live in now?!... How interesting for you!
Sounds like you have many new changes upon you!.. What type of job will you be looking for?
Its no wonder that you have been a little 'off-track' with things since you sound so incredibly busy.. but do not be too hard on yourself.. Just be sure to "make" time for yourself. That is so important for you right now with so much going on!
Its great that you are still going to attempt to find some time to decorate some!... Perhaps that will be the excitement and stress-reliever that you will need!... And I think its really Awesome and great that you are going to be able to connect with lots of family during this time!... Perhaps you could have a little get together and invite some of them over to help you decorate with some light snacks and refreshments?!.. and some nice chat!
Good luck to you on your continued job search and thank you so much for checking in this week and letting us know how things are going for you!...Please continue to keep us informed on how things continue to go with your new move and job search!
The cold I had last week seemed to be getting better and then got worse again with new symptoms. I am off work today due to the snow, and I'm so glad because I feel awful. I got very little exercise done but I ate fairly well, except for a pan of brownies I made last night during the snowstorm. I needed some comfort food!
My only decorations this year are a tiny evergreen of some sort in a pot with gold foil paper around it, on my kitchen table with a small poinsetta, and a string of colored lights around my kitchen window.
@SadMe70
Hey There Sad... sorry to hear that you are still feeling bad... Its miserable, isn't it?!... Ugh... I can totally feel you. I hope that you are starting to get better!.. Its great that you were able to stay on track with your eating (despite what sounds like some "amazing" brownies!) lol...Thats one thing I at least kept up with too, was just trying to stay on track with eating right, at least what I could manage to eat anyway....
Doesn't sound like you are much for decorating this time of year? Guessing either its because you just don't want to, Or... because the Kids are grown and gone etc...? But hey, at least you did "something" right?!..... About three years ago I did the same thing, it was my son's first year out of the house, and for the first time since he was born, I didn't put a tree up that year..... I think I did a red tablecloth, and a Garland around the Fireplace?! lol.... Oh well..... At least its something right?!
Thank you so much for the "above" well-wishes... I'm getting there day by day. And I hope that you are too my friend!... Please take care, and thank you so much for having the energy to take time to check in this week despite not feeling the best!...
Today I checked my blood pressure and it's the lowest it's been all year at 117/74. It's usually something like 160/99. One time it was 199/118. Yeah, not good.
I just checked my blood pressure and it was 179/109. See, I told you it wasn't going to last. My heart just started racing and I don't know why.
@PoliteOcean
I haven't checked in for a while. I have been feeling guilty about neglecting my health. Today I figured I should at least try to talk about it.
**How have things been going for you this week?
I've been very low on physical/mental energy for about the last month. Part of it was just the upcoming holidays, and some anniversaries. I think I have dealt with some of those feelings now. But I have been really swamped between work and the kids, so I'm finding it hard to make time for basic self-care things. I work during the week with them, which means I end up having to make up time in the evenings and on weekends. I have been feeling for a while that it's taking a toll on me. I was at least getting out for walks or something, but the weather here has just been cold and rainy for weeks. I haven't had much time or energy to make the kinds of meals I need for this special diet I'm supposed to be on. I haven't had time for exercise. I have to rush just to get certain hygiene things done. I tried reprioritizing things some weeks ago, but it seems I have a lot of important/urgent things of value on my list. High on my list is coming here to work on my mental health (since I know that effects most other things in my life), but then I feel guilty for spending time here. Guess my anxiety has been high now for a while.
**How has the FIRST week of December been for you? What things have gone well for you this past week?
What has gone well... I guess recognizing that I need to make some changes, even if I don't know how yet. I guess something good about being here, I realized something about an issue that's always bothered me, so maybe I can start to make progress on that (maybe I can feel less guilty about being here...). I've been observing my feelings a lot. I have been doing ok calming myself down from some emotions, even though I'm still kinda anxious constantly. Writing that just made me realize that the constant anxiety is probably why I have no energy. I feel out of breath just sitting here writing this. :(
**How many of you stayed on track/plan with things this past week?
(Looks at feet)
**For those of you who are decorating/celebrating the Christmas season, how are your plans going? Shopping, Decorating?
I enjoyed decorating. Also enjoying picking out presents. I'm almost done. So that's good. :)
**What have been your "highlights" this past week? What are your weekend plans?
This weekend we will be taking an overnight trip out of state to do some Christmas-y stuff. I'm kinda excited about that, getting out, change of scenery, maybe getting some things off my mind. Being more present in the season.
