**This past week has gone well.... Nice and quiet. Relaxed from the Christmas holiday.... Spent time prepping to ring in the New Year with family.... I'm Still continuing my "mental health/self-care" Break until Monday..Which Is when I'm supposed to teach again. So for now, I'm still in a mellow-mode of not doing too much. Evaluating things, plans and goals for the New Year ahead.

**New Years Eve was spent at my Moms house with my family..... Which was great. We cooked, we ate, we played games, and laughed. And counted down the New Year together. Like it was meant to be..... I have No Expectations of the New Year ahead. I'm just hopeful to continue on in my personal goals for myself. And prayerful that they continue to all come together.

**With so many things still going on at this time, things have changed for so many. Personally and Professionally... Including my New indoor Classes. Getting things to 'come together' there are becoming more stressful than I really want to admit. Or perhaps more than I really want to deal with..... I've long realized that I am only 'one' person, and that I also have to be happy and do whats best for me. And while I thought that moving classes back "indoors" would work, I was hesitant..... And right now its proving that I need to scale back. Until everyone who stated they wanted these classes are willing to commit more and get onboard. What is happening now and over the past month is no longer working for me. They knew from the start that we needed to have a "Required minimum" in order to pay for the space and meet up. But through the holidays and until now that hasn't been happening. Fortunately everyone paid ahead when we first started, and we made it through Nov/Dec....but now, Numbers have decreased over the past month, people are no longer making it a priority or obligation to be there due to personal factors in their own lives.... And Not sure January is looking all that great. So changes have to be made. And I'm ok with that. Its just disappointing as we just got into this space only a short time ago. And they knew beforehand what it would take to maintain it and stay in there. Just rather disappointing since in my mind, I was expecting more from those who were attending. As they are Fitness Friendships and members that have been with me forever! frown

**Going forward, I realize I do need to do MORE of what makes Me happy this year..... For myself and those around me that I care about such as My family. And I know that I have a few things that I will need to address this year. Plans for this year are to just take One Day at a Time~ And reach my goals.

ENJOY THE WEEKND AHEAD~ HAPPY NEW YEAR

My last day of the year I spent working and I went to bed early. I enjoyed taking a cab to work and back even though it was an expense, because it meant I had more time to sleep and get ready in the morning. I'm glad I scheduled it for an hour after I was scheduled to get off work because we were slammed with customers.

My goals for 2021 are pretty big but I can adjust them down if I need to. I want to read a book about every 1-2 weeks. I want to lose about 30-50 pounds. I want to pay off at least one of my credit cards completely. I want to start osteoporosis treatment. I want to continue to look for a receptionist, data entry, or secretarial position.

So I'm going to start using the recumbant bike again that is here on days off. I started Noom and am going to work on food substitutions and portion control.

On 7cups I want to get all 12 Peer Trainings done and qualify for the Listening 5 certificate.

Most of my struggles this week have been work-related, including having a wardrobe malfunction, but mostly its been a good week. My highlights have been being home alone and able to blast Christmas music and religious music since my hosts are tolerant of me, but pretty anti-religious/spiritual.

Hey there

Sounds like you have really taken time to think about and plan out the goals that you want to put in motion for yourself in this new year ahead. Good for you. (In fact 2 of your goals are actually 2 that I have also set for my ownself)! But all of those look totally doable and sustainable.

Good for you in thinking of ways to get your activity in. Recumbant bike is a great and simple choice. I have one that is practically brand new that has gone unused for many years. I thought about putting it to good use finally. Congrats on starting NOOM. What made you decide to go with that choice? You will have to be sure to touch base with us to let us know how all of that is going and working out for you.

Thats great that you are looking into your goals here at 7cups that you'd like to meet. I'm sure you will do great.

Despite the struggles of your week, its good for you that for the most part the week went well for you. Thanks so much for checking in this week, and telling us about your New Year goals ahead. And for keeping us up to date. Be sure to check back and let us know how its all working out.

@PoliteOcean

So I went with that because originally about a couple of years ago they advertised as a sponsor on one of the podcasts I was listening to, I had good results and my therapist knew about it and recommended it too, but it was expensive and I discontinued. I wasn't able to keep it up without the coaching, so they did a 90% off sale on the annual plan and I decided to join again.

Right now I'm stunned at how much I'm eating. I'm still losing because, take for example yesterday.. I'm getting sometimes over 9,000 steps in at my job, but its crazy how much and what I'm eating. Before it was easier because my brother-in-law was trying to prep for bariatric surgery, but he failed and isn't now, so my sister is back to cooking a lot of comfort food. And she is the main cook in the house. I realize I could make my own food but that annoys her because she wants me to save toward moving out as soon as possible.

@AvidGamer293

Oh I see... 90% OFF is an amazing deal. Its hard to know what or who to listen to since I've seen different responses & reviews from those who like it and those who don't. I think the "coaching or lack thereof" was the biggest issue I saw in those who weren't happy with it. You'll have to let us know how it goes and works out for you.

@PoliteOcean

It might depend on who you get as a coach. My current ones have been excellent.. my biggest issue last time was the group didn't seem to care about my posts, but that's the other members in the community

@Goldcherry2113

Hey there.. Sounds like you found a soothing, comforting and relaxing way to end your year?!

Getting more creative and setting routines for yourself are great goals to set and accomplish for yourself in the year ahead. In what ways would you like to be more creative?!

Its ok that you don't really have or know at this time what Healthy habits or goals that you'd like to take on this year. Perhaps that is "another" goal that you could look into or set for yourself (in being able to come up with one)?!

Thats great that you would like to or consider leading a discussion. Perhaps you could touch base with another leader that you could possibly help "Co-lead" with?! That is one of the easiest ways to get started. And they could help you through! It tends to get easier as well as more fun the more you do it and proceed with it. And its another great way to earn a few discussion badges for yourself! Just feel free to reach out if you'd like more help to do that.

Thanks so much for checking in this week, discussing your goals and letting us know how things are going !

@PoliteOcean This past week I stayed indoors all week except for Monday when I went grocery shopping. I had a psychiatrist appointment on Thursday and it was completely unproductive. They prescribed a new medication which I had requested, but it turns out my insurance won't pay for it. My doctor only makes one change to my medication routine per appointment, which means I'm out of luck until my next appointment. I've struggled with nightmares for the past 30 years and there is very little medication designed to specifically treat that issue. My homeopathic remedy isn't working as well as I thought it would. I finished my statistics course and taking a course on Microsoft Excel. For this upcoming week I have a therapy appointment on Monday. I want to re-evaluate my approach since I have no idea if I'm gettiing any real results since I'm not interacting with people in real life. I want to deconstruct my defense mechanisms and live life as my authentic self. My true self is buried under decades of defense mechanisms from family abuse. I'm watching psychology videos every day, and they're very informative, but I don't know if they are producing any real change. My primary goal right now is just to make it to my first acupuncture appointment on January 15th, which I'm been waiting for 8 years to get to. This upcoming week I have a homeopath appointment on Friday. I'm hoping I can get my distribution from my mother's inheritance in the first 6 months of 2021, and then I will have a clear path to getting 100% cured.

@Regmo

Hey Regmo, That is so challenging dealing with medications and insurance. Very frustrating to say the least. Especially if its something that is needed. And its a shame that your doctor that prescribed it won't allow a change until your next app't. The doctor should at least allow you to leave a message with their nurse or assistant regarding the issue. And they could already call in something else in the meantime until your next visit. Just frustrating. Sounds like you have really thought it through about what you need and want in both your psych appointments as well as for yourself moving forward. Its great that you have thought it all through so well, and that you are trying to take as much approach on your own as you can and are able to do. It also Sounds like 2021 can turn out to be rather beneficial to you and your needs in several ways and situations. You will have to continue to keep us up to date on how everything is continuing to go regarding it all. Thanks for checking in this week and letting us know how things are continuing to move along for you each week. Its always great to stay updated and to hear from you.

@Rebekahwriter13

Hey Rebekah, Sounds like you had a great time ringing in your New Year. I see you have set some great goals for yourself moving ahead personally, emotionally and physcially. Sounds like some great well-rounded goals overall! Good for you!

Hopefully you will be able to find the weekly listener here at 7cups that you are looking for. That will also accomodate your needs. There are so many to choose from that it probably can make it a little overwhelming at times to find the one that will perfectly fit. But you can take your time, read through the bios, as well maybe even ask around or pay attention to others who might mention a great listener? Whatever works for you.

Sounds like you are still having issues with your BF's Ex. That can be rather challenging. Hopefully your BF is setting or has already set some boundaries with her!

S.A.D can be challenging. And yes, this past year has been even more challenging for many. Hopefully you have some coping skill that you find can benefit you during this time. They have SAD lamps that supposedly mimick the natural sunshine that can help. But I never looked into those myself. But perhaps even getting outside on your porch, or in your yard for 15-20 minutes a day to help get some natural light early in the day could also be a benefit as well? I know you like to write, so perhaps it could kill two birds with one stone by sitting outside and writing a bit. Perhaps it could even give you a little inspiration in the process? Just a thought.

Thanks for checking in this week and letting us know how things are continuing to go. Good to see you are doing your best to keep a positive mindset.

It’s already more than the middle of the week but I figured it could be helpful to check in mid-week! I’m back to my place which feels great after the holidays, and also back to work. I tried confronting my coworker about the unusable results she gave me but like always, she pretended everything was alright and when I finally managed to prove her she was wrong and the results were worthless, she put the blame on someone else… So I guess in the future I’ll have to see, I don’t think I can trust her on doing any analysis unless I’m here to supervise them but then it’s going to take me so much more time… Other than that, I’m looking forward getting some results on experiments I did some weeks ago!

I’m also not sure why but lately it feels that my anxiety has really exploded and I’m not even sure why… I don’t know if it’s because of the whole situation or something else. I’m trying this plant based thingy that is supposed to help especially for sleep as it’s what bothers me the most, I’ll see how that goes!

Other than that, I’m not really a fan of new year’s resolutions, I’m just going to keep on doing what I do and hope for the best!

Take care!

@LinearWaves

Hey Waves!... Its great that you were finally able to confront and have a chat with the co-worker who seems to be giving you so many issues recently. Sorry to hear that things didn't go the way you hoped or that she didn't take the "hint". Sometimes theres not getting through to people unfortunately and they just don't want to see, hear or recognize their own faults sadly. Hopefully at some point this situation will resolve itself in someway.

Sorry to hear also that you are struggling with increased anxiety.. That can surely be a challenge. Its great that you are back in the comfort of your own surroundings and can be in a place thats calmer for you during this time. Hopefully your intentions with the plant based "thingy" goes as you desire and helps. Getting better sleep could surely help with anxiety issues.

I'm no longer a "resolution' person either... I agree, all we can do is just look forward to the best and take it day by day~

Thanks so much for checking in this week and letting us know how things are going for you. And for keeping us up to date on things!
