**Its been a usual week.... although once again I can't believe how fast it went by!? And I can't believe its already the end of July~ Seems like summer just started~
...... had a few appointments, I subbed a Zumba class for another instructor, and kept up with my own classes as well.~ Staying on top of my eating, my water, and sleep has been "mildly" better this past week.~
**This past week the weather got slightly cooler, (from the 90's to the 80's F) ... Which isn't a huge difference, but it wasn't as humid out (Which meant less sweat during my morning walks)... and with overnight lows dipping a few degrees as well, the water in the swimming pool has gotten a little cooler this week too~.... But it still didn't stop me from getting in the activity. I just feel like my workout is more successful when I sweat more~ Since I did the cleanse that I did in Mid-June, I have continued to see weekly progress on the scale~ Which has continued to be really motivating for me.~ I'm finally at a New "Lowest" weight goal for myself in 2 years! So thats even more motivation to continue to stay on track as this is the time of year that I tend to start slipping (Aug/Anniversary, Sept/Labor Day weekend, Oct/Birthday Month and then theres the Holidays directly after it all)... And with me, its like when I tend to start slipping, it just makes it easier to do some more~ ![]()
**I did manage to get a few things and projects done around the house this week, which felt good to finally get out of the way, which also makes me feel good "mentally" knowing that its been taken care of~
**Hubby will be out of town for the day on Saturday....so that leaves me and my "side-kick" (my pup) lol... It will be my "Free" day (And Treat day).., so Hoping to get up and still make it to a Zumba class and then some light Swim time afterwards. Then just Chill with the Pup the rest of the evening~
ENJOY YOUR WEEKEND~![]()
I met my aunt. She has her struggle with mental health too, my grandfather family was terrible. She opened up a bit. Guess what? Her therapist is making her work on her issues as if they were different "parts" of her that she has to learn to cooperate with. And she feels that for the first time it's working! So similar to my experience! Under A LOT of aspects. So I shared my experience, seems like I'm further along than my aunt in my understanding of how healing works, so I tried to help her find some insight on her situation, hopefully she can relate to my experience in some was that will turn useful to her. Anyway it was a lot validating for me too, because I often fear that those parts of me that I'm recognizing are actually completely made up. Now I want to know how that kind of approach my aunt's psychologist is putting into practice, and if there are professionals that can do this kind of therapy in my area. Oh, my therapist finally suggested me that I get a diagnosis and pointed me towards some option for meeting a psychiatrist. I'm a little scared I'll meet an incompetent one. I know there are many around here, I met them already, not as a patient, but as a psychology student, and I'd be TERRIFIED to end up in the hands of someone like them. Anyway. I'll be careful.
Not even begun the mermaid tail yet, I have to finish a lots of projects before diving into that (diving in a mermaid tail. Ha.) I'm drawing a lot lately. I have lots of unfinished drawings, I keep beginning new ones but then I get stuck because I'm not sure if I can draw certain parts of if I'll end up completely ruining the drawing, but I'll have to get over it and finish the damn stuff for once.
I got a tattoo that's very important to me. I'm so happy about it. It's a little moth on my inner left wrist. Soooo happy I did it.
Still trying to figure out how to use the fitness app. It makes me train the same muscles every single day, that's not healthy. Muscles have to recover. I think I'll restart the lower body program and also start an upper body program, and alternate them, one day lower body, next day upper body and so on, regardless of what the app says
@GhostlyLilian
Hey there!
How nice that you met your aunt and found someone that you can "relate" to as well.. and that you can both perhaps "relate" to each other... (My aunt and I are the same way... and because we have suffered similar issues, its nice to have someone understand where I'm coming from when nobody else seems to sometimes)....So its nice that you have each other and can perhaps continue to talk and share, and support each other on some level?
I think I'd agree with your therapist in getting a proper diagnoses, so that you know exactly what you are dealing with and how to move forward in getting the proper treatment and care (as well as understanding)..... I can totally understand and relate to NOT wanting to end up with an "incompetant" provider!..... I have been there myself so I can relate to how that feels. So its good that you are aware of what and who you are dealing with, and can take the time to be choosey in who you decide on....
Its good that you are still considering the Mermaid idea... I think even if you haven't begun or started on it yet, that it still gives you a purpose to focus on!...... .And getting a new tattoo is nice. I have a few myself from when I was younger, and wouldnt' mind another one myself... But... I was way more adventurous when I was younger lol.... so, I'd have to REALLY do my "research" on the best and safest spot to go to, should I decide upon doing that again.... But I'm sure you are happy that you got something that you've been wanting to do.
I hope that you are able to figure out the Fitness app soon. I know they can be so confusing and tricky sometimes....And I don't blame you for not wanting to follow the program that they are giving you. As you are right... You shouldn't be working on the "same" muscles everyday , and they do need time to rest and recover. Its good that you are aware of that, and that you are coming up with a "plan" to stay on track with it, while modifying it in a way that will be more on track with your needs.
Sounds like a pretty good check-in for you this week!... Keep up the great work that you are doing with everything... take time for yourself and your needs, continue to stay in touch with your aunt and find some support.... and with continuing on your fitness goals and path as well!... Thanks for checking in this week and letting us know how things are going for you!
This week had its' ups and downs, but that was mostly hormones, haha.
This month was BUSY! It was full of growth, though.
I'm looking forward to reclaiming my physical health next month!
My favorite self cae is doing something for myself that I haven't done but needed to get done, like clean my room or do my laundry.
I've struggled with motivation to work out... but I've not totally wrecked my diet!
@betterchoices
Hey there!....
I think I would have to agree on that one... this month HAS in fact been a very BUSY month for sure!...lol... Its nice for you that you have found "growth" in it all though!......And its Awesome for you that you are looking forward to "reclaiming your physical health in the New month ahead! Thats a great goal to work on for yourself.
I like your idea of "self-care"... I think accomplishing things like getting a room cleaned, or laundry cleaned, can really make us feel better over-all!.. Its like we accomplished a goal, and knowing that its done and out of the way and completed just leaves us with an amazing feeling~
Motivation can be challenging when it comes to working out... Lots of times you will hear most people list "lack of motivation" to be one of biggest reasons that they don't work out.~..Secret to that is finding something that you "like" and it will never feel like a workout!.... (Zumba, Dance, Group Fitness and working out with others etc...)... Sometimes just working out with a partner or a group can help keep you motivated!....Despite the way you are feeling, its awesome for you that you managed to stay on track with your diet goals!.. Keep up the great work!..
Thank you so much for checking in this week and letting us know how you've been doing!
@PoliteOcean These check-ins keep me going!
@PoliteOcean My week went pretty well. I looked at a new place to live on Wednesday, and I'm going for a second look this upcoming Tuesday. I've been in the hospital for 14 weeks now. They say I'm too healthy to stay here so I guess I should leave. I went in for kidney failure, but my shoulders and back are still a big problem. I had some of my government benefits cut at the beginning of the year, and this past week I had them restored, so that is very good news, and a huge burden off of my shoulders. I hope after I move into my new place I can start getting treatment for my shoulders. I joined a dating app for disabled people a few weeks ago, and have gotten zero results. I wonder what would happen if I joined a datinig app for normal people? Today I took a 20 minute online political survey. I like political surveys because it is one small way I can contribute to society during a time when I can do so little. I started reading a book of T.S. Eliot's poetry. T.S. Eliot won the Nobel Prize for Literature.
@Regmo
Hey there Regmo!
So nice to hear that your week went well for you.. and that things are possibly coming along in finding a new place to live! How great for you. Thats good news for sure....Its good for you as well that your benefits were restored and can hopefully aid in helping you to finish getting treatment that you are needing....
Dating app sounds interesting... Since its only been a few weeks, perhaps give it some more time. If you feel comfortable in putting your profile on the one for 'non'-disabled people, perhaps you can give that a try as well and see how it goes. You never know until you try or wait it out a bit....
Good for you on doing your online surveys. If its something that you feel helps you to feel good about yourself, then thats great!.... Keep it up! You sound like you are finally getting ready to "transition" into a better place in your life than you have been in, and thats a good thing. You are coming along. Thank you so much for checking in this week and letting us know how things have been going for you! Keep us posted!
@PoliteOcean
**This is our "LAST" check-in for the Month of JULY!... How do you feel this past month has gone for you over-all? How would you "sum-up" this past month for yourself? I this month went very well :)
**What are you looking forward to in the New month ahead? more sunshine
**Just for Fun... What is your "Favorite" Self-care activity? face masks
**What have been your "Highlights" Or "Struggles" over this past week? What are your weekend Plans?! Work was pretty chill but I didn't get to clean my room and it's a mess :(
@Mellietronx
Hey there!
Thats great that you feel this past month has gone well for you overall~
I love the sunshine too... its nice that its something you are looking forward to in the new month ahead~ Do you more sunshine will motivate you more in anyway? (ex: getting out more, working out more etc...?)
Facemasks are a really nice selfcare ritual... I haven't done one in a LOOOONGG time... Do you have a particular one that you prefer to use?
Even though you didn't get to clean your room, its good that work was pretty "chill" for you the past week.. Its nice to have "un-eventful" weeks at work.~
Thanks for checking in this week and letting us know how things have been going for you!
Another busy week. Time is sure going fast. Would like to start summer again as I am finally in a good routine with exercise. Always seems to take to the middle of summer. Still goal setting to stay on track. Weather has been good not too hot, although the next few days in the 90F range. Overall a good summer, just would like it to last longer.
@sail46
Hey there Sail!
I totally agree.... this summer is just "flying right by"... I would love to start it all over again myself from Mid-May!....
Its great that you are moving and grooving in a good routine for yourself and staying on track with everything. While also continuing to set goals for yourself! ....
Sounds like your weather is the same as ours has been... Hot!...It makes it such an even greater summer when the weather cooperates! Wish it would last longer too , because I hate to see it go~
Continue to keep up the great work that you are doing and thanks so much for checking in and letting us know how things are going. Its always great to hear from you each week. I look forward to it!
**Hey there everyone! How has the past week been going for you?! Pretty good from what I can remember. There have been a few lows, but a few highs too which is good. I got to try out my new Primark clothes and see my boyfriend a few times. But I don't really get invited to group meet-ups anymore...I want to know why.
**This is our "LAST" check-in for the Month of JULY!... How do you feel this past month has gone for you over-all? How would you "sum-up" this past month for yourself? I think the past month has gone quickly, but not too badly. I'm becoming more confident with myself. I mean I even wore shorts in public!? I went further with my boyfriend which is good and hopefully, I can go further in August!
**What are you looking forward to in the New month ahead? I am looking forward to still being in the summer holidays, hopefully tanning more, becoming more confident, and preparing for school! I love buying new stationery. I'm just scared for my first day/week back.
**Just for Fun... What is your "Favorite" Self-care activity? Does sleep count?
**What have been your "Highlights" Or "Struggles" over this past week? What are your weekend Plans?!
Highlights - Seeing my boyfriend, seeing my friend, seeing other friends, wearing new clothes, tanning a bit
Struggles - Not being invited to a group meet up, arguments with my mum, arguements with a couple of people
Weekend plans - Yesterday I saw my boyfriend, today I have no plans
@peacefullistener22
Hey there~
How nice that you got to try on your new clothes ... How did they work out for you? I LOVE Clothes... I spend WAAYYY too much on buying them~
You say you dont' get invited to "group meet-ups" anymore?... What type of meet-ups are they? Is it like something personal with your friends or is it an "online" type of thing?... (I only ask because we have a local "meet-up" group near our area based on your needs and different interests)... So was just wondering if that was what you were referring to as well?
I love the summer months too.. (swimming, tanning) and just the over-all nicer weather..... Its great that you are looking forward to becoming more confident and preparing for school...Its always exciting to buy "new" back to school stuff..... (I usually only liked going back for about the first week back)...and then I was ready to be done lol...... So in what ways are looking forward to becoming more confident? What steps do you think you will make to get there?
Ahh..... Sleep... I love sleep too. Thats an awesome "self-care" activity. If you need sleep, then yes, by all means make it a priority.
Sounds like you had a "mix" of both ups and downs over the past week..but it seems like overall, you are enjoying yourself and time off right now before school starts back.... What steps do you think you can take to overcome the "struggles" that you faced this past week with the "group meet-up" and the arguments with your mom?
Thanks so much for checking in this week and letting us know how things have been going for you!
@PoliteOcean
All the clothes work really well! I have to tie up one of the tops as it's really long and looks cuter like that though.
It's a meet up with our friends who live nearby. I did question my friend about this but she said it's because they arrange it on social media these days which I'm not using currently.
I just want to be more confident with myself and my ability - life would be a lot easier that way. I think to do this I just need to give myself time.
The group meet up problem is sorted and so are things with my mum. I'm on good terms with her again
@peacefullistener22
Sounds like a great time!
**Hey there everyone! How has the past week been going for you?! It been up and down, but I learned some techniques to control myself that made the ride a bit more barrible.
**This is our "LAST" check-in for the Month of JULY!... How do you feel this past month has gone for you over-all? it was rocky at first, but it worked out
How would you "sum-up" this past month for yourself? Unexpected, but overall nice.
**What are you looking forward to in the New month ahead? I am looking forward to trying fit myself in my new guy's very ambitious schedule. (Please keep him your prayers and positive vibes, he is having a hard time with kid issues.)
**Just for Fun... What is your "Favorite" Self-care activity? Playing music or painting
**What have been your "Highlights" Or "Struggles" over this past week? I was supposed to see my new guy but plans got cancelled, I hope to see him this week.
What are your weekend Plans?! I went to a picnic and tried Cambodian food and I wrote over 5000 words on my novel. I plan to finish it tomorrow.
**What would "YOU" like to talk about or share with us?! WE want to hear from "YOU"!!
I hope to find a traditional publisher and get my books published some day, please send me positive vibes.
@Rebekahwriter13
Hey Rebekah...
Its good that you are learning some techniques that are benefiting you in positive ways.
Its really great that even though the month started off a little rocky for you that things turned around and worked themselves out!
Seems like the coming month ahead will have some possible challenges for you (and your new guy) to overcome... In what ways do you feel you will be able to fit yourself in his schedule and spend more time together. What things could you plan to do together?
Playing music and painting are some great 'self-care' activities.... can be very relaxing and soothing~
Wow... Cambodian food?!... That sounds interesting?!.. Where was the picnic or what was it for?.... How was Cambodian food involved? What types of food was it?... Sounds like you enjoyed......
Good luck on your goals on getting your books published in the future. I'm sure you can do it when you stay invested in what you love to do.
Thanks so much for checking in this week and letting us know how things are going.
@PoliteOcean
I'm always trying to improve myself.
Seems like the coming month ahead will have some possible challenges for you (and your new guy) to overcome... In what ways do you feel you will be able to fit yourself in his schedule and spend more time together. What things could you plan to do together? dinner, dates, get to know each other: I hope, but I just found out that he was sick. I hope he feels better. please send prayers
Playing music and painting are some great 'self-care' activities.... can be very relaxing and soothing~I'm always listening to music.
Wow... Cambodian food?!... That sounds interesting?!.. Where was the picnic or what was it for?.... How was Cambodian food involved? What types of food was it?... Sounds like you enjoyed...... It was a local temple trying to promote themselves and they had their congregation making meals of their country, sticky sweet rice in banana leaves, rice noodles in a chicken broth that reminded me of a type of ramen, summer and spring rolls., it was really good.
I working on the ending of my book still hope to finish it tomorrow, I found out I was missing a linking scene.
@PoliteOcean
**Hey there everyone! How has the past week been going for you?!
Heya Ocean! The past week had been crazy! So many assignments to do and so little time, but it wasn't all bad. I had many small victories as well, though, so that's sweet! I became more active in class and socialised a lot more after staying silent and invisible for so long. I'm glad you had an alright week, Ocean
it could definitely be worse, right?
**This is our "LAST" check-in for the Month of JULY!... How do you feel this past month has gone for you over-all? How would you "sum-up" this past month for yourself?
First half of July was lovely as I was still on school-break haha. The other half was filled with more stress and anxiety, but in the end I managed it and all is good.
**What are you looking forward to in the New month ahead?
I look forward to the activities my school will hold for my country's independence day! Indonesia's independence day on 17th August and we'll have a day dedicated to fun activities and competitions in school.
**Just for Fun... What is your "Favorite" Self-care activity?
I love eating or snacking xD I'm really underweight, so it makes me feel good to have comfort foods and make an effort to gain weight at the same time while having them! Have you had a taste of Indonesian food, Ocean? :3
**What have been your "Highlights" Or "Struggles" over this past week? What are your weekend Plans?!
Well, last week had been "meh", so I don't think there's anything worth noting xD. Mostly I've been struggling with anxiety because it makes me avoid doing stuff or pass on opportunities, which aren't good
I have been trying every single day to cope and improve with it, though. For the weekend, I'd love to hang out with my boyfriend for a bit and then hibernate the rest of the day away
**What would "YOU" like to talk about or share with us?! want to hear from "YOU"!!
Hmm ... I've been thinking about writing poems for a while, but never actually got to start lol. It seems like a lot of fun! It's also a really good way to write down thoughts and feelings into words. I'm considering to get back into writing and perhaps start a poem or two after I stop overthinking and slacking it haha.
Thank you very much for this check-in, Ocean! It's been fun
I hope August will be lovely for all of us.
@SilverSeastar
Hey there!..
So sorry to hear that the week was crazy for you!..But its awesome that you found you ended up having many small "victories"!... How great that you have found yourself becoming more active and socializing more!....
(Also thank you so much for the lovely compliment!)
So sorry to hear that you last half of July ended with stressors and anxiety~ I'm so glad to hear that you found you were able to manage it all in the end!... I know that can be quite a challenge sometimes.
Wow.. it sounds like you will have alot to look forward to in the month ahead! Indonesia's independance day! How nice! I'm sure there will be lots to do and so many activities! I hope that you enjoy it to the fullest!
(Eating and snacking)... hahaha
... Yes, that CAN infact be a good self-care ritual!... (In moderation of course!
).... I have never tried Indonesia food!?... I dont think I've ever really had the opportunity to do so!... I surely would though if the opportunity was presented to me!.. I am always up for trying new foods~ ![]()
Sorry to hear that you were struggling with anxiety.. I know how very challenging that can be to deal with and get through. And how it can hold us back from doing things that we would normally enjoy doing~
I do hope that you are feeling better! (Boyfriends and hibernation( and..., perhaps a great movie can help with that!~)
I Love poetry!.. I used to write ALOT of it when I was younger and still in school... But the older I got, the more my creativity to write became smaller~ But yes, it can help alot with our feelings and emotions... I hope that you can find more time to do it, and that it can help you in some way!
I do agree that I hope August will surely be a Lovely month!... Thank you!...And thank you so very much for checking in and letting us know how you've been doing!.. Its so nice to see you :)
I'm like "SLLOWW DOWN"!..lol...
