**This past week has gone well... Its also certainly gone by really fast! frown It seems like the weeks are just "flying" right by?! I LOVE Summer time and I for one just wish things/time would just slow down a bit!... I can remember being little, and it seemed like summers would last FOREVER back then! They seemed so long! And now the older I get, time moves by like a "blink of an eye"~.....

**This week was met with attending scheduled appointments, Teaching ALL of my scheduled Fitness classes, staying on track with eating & workouts. Sleep was "Ok-ish"... water was "Ok-ish".. It certainly has cooled down a bit this week (From the 90's to the 70-80's Farenheit) so it hasn't been as "Hot" where I am, so the water intake has decreased a little.~ I did a fruit and veggie cleanse this past week with my husband who I got to get on board and do with me... Nothing but fruits and veggies with a Lean protein on the very last day..and some Probiotics.... We finished up today~ It wasn't as challenging as I thought it might be (Since I couldn't have my Oatmeal, or eggs)..., except for the fact that I like Fruits more than Veggies. But you couldn't have any Corn or Bananas (which happen to be my favorite fruit and veggie) lol....... But I found myself putting alot more "Citrus" back into my life this week in the form of Oranges and Lemon and some Pineapple!..... SOOOOO yummy~ I realized how much I missed eating those because I tend to eat alot of Bananas and Blueberries each morning with my Oatmeal~ So I certainly tend to "Increase" those fruits a little more!

**Due to the weather not being as Hot, I only swam Once this past week ,& I've Walked way more! (Especially since my mom is finally back from her getaway).... I must say, I noticed my Knee felt alot better this past week which makes me wonder if its from the "Cleanse" OR... more resistance/strengthening exercises in the pool??... So the walk felt much better and way more energized~ I'm thinking of doing the cleanse at least once a month now? Maybe?~ And I LOVE LOVE LOVE my New FITBIT VERSA.. It seems to be working out alot better than my BLAZE was. I am really enjoying it!

**Today is my FREE day... Its supposed to be really nice weather here today, so I have a few minor errands to take care of...~ I'm hoping to get up and attend a morning Zumba Class to start my day, treat myself to something?... and then let my husband plan the rest of the weekend since its FATHER's Day weekend~ wink

ENJOY YOUR WEEKEND~yes

Heya! I'm not checking in regularly at all. Anyway, some things went good, some not. The house is a mess, again. I've been stressed about some exams I have to do for my health. I find it difficult for a lot of reasons: they imply going outside home, and it scares me, it implies making phone calls, and I have social anxiety, they imply having to talk with professionals, or people that are there doing their job, know what they're doing and can't waste time for my stupidity (I think that's also from social anxiety), also, since I don't drive and my boyfriend is busy, my parents are taking me where I need to go to do those exams, so I have to see them, and this does me no good, plus, I'm afraid of the results, because if I have something wrong I will have to 1) have to do more exams and repeat all the above and 2) take medication, which I'm afraid of. On top of this, one of the exams is extremely triggering for one of my specific traumas, and every time I concretely think about booking the exam or about what will happen during it, I get anxiety attacks. First time my father took me to the doctor he got mad because I forgot to mention one of the things I had to say, and I felt again a little scared child that was too stupid to behave and did nothing right. That same night I had a nightmare where I was a child and I trusted my father so much, I asked him to tell me a story, I was so vulnerable, then I did something wrong and he got mad and started shouting. No story obviously. I didn't deserve it after what I did. I woke up feeling so hurt... Iwwould never trust him so much now, I would never expect anything good from him, never make myself so vulnerable. My head lately feels so full with the thought or the fear of those exams (and what revolves around them) that i find hard to stay in touch with reality and follow even the basic self care rules. It's not as bad as some months ago, but i feel I walked backwards in my recovery, it's frustrating, I worked so hard for those little steps forwards! At least I'm not completely brain dead. I'm working on a lot of artistic projects, and reading im my free time. I feel too "busy" already to hang out with friends, but still, I see a friend tomorrow and my brother on Wednesday, and I try to keep myself productive while I'm at home

Hey there...

Sounds like you have alot going on and to deal with mentally, emotionally and even physically due to the testing/exams.

I have been there, and in fact have a testing that I too have been avoiding due to various "thoughts, feelings and emotions" as well... It can be challenging and difficult to "deal" with when our minds start to "wander" and attempt to play tricks on us to try and get the "better of us"...

But, in the end, we have to dig down deep and try to find that "strength" that we need to keep moving forward in knowing that we are doing something good for ourselves and doing what we can to take care of ourselves. To continue to do better, "be" better, AND "Feel" better as well!....

Even though I know you have some personal issues with your "mom".. its really great that they are "stepping up" to help you and take you to your exams! So thats a positive even if you are hesitant to feel that way~

It also great that you have some other positives to focus on such as ... (working on a lot of artistic projects, reading in free time,, seening a friend ...and your brother on Wednesday, and also trying to keep yourself productive while at home) !!! Those things are ALL really super important and truly AWESOME! Great job for you in looking at those positives and realizing yourself what good things you are doing in your life right now!

Continue to check back, keep us informed on how everything goes with the exams, and how your visit was with your brother~ Thanks so much for checking in this week and letting us know how things have been going for you!

I made it through my first week on my new diet, and I definitely was not perfect on it, but unlike before, when I slipped I didn't let it derail the rest of my day and my progress! I ended up losing 3 lbs this week!

I decided to take my accountability to the next level with a Dietbet challenge, and despite my anxiety about sharing my weigh-ins (something that stressed me into bad emotional eating binges when I was on Weight Watchers), I did it and it felt great to do it as part of a community!

I started to meal plan my next week so I can try and keep developing these positive, helpful habits so I can finally meet my goals!

HEY THERE!.. Great job to you on making it through your first week on your new eating plan!... I know how challenging it can be at times when we decide to 'switch' things up. ....But sometimes it can also really be an exciting thing as well, knowing we are getting ready to do something really great for ourselves and our health! AWESOME job on not getting derailed AND Losing 3lbs!!! That is so exciting for you! and how encouraging!

Great job to you on getting involved in the "bet".... sometimes it can really be motivating and encouraging to get involved in a challenge that will help us to stay focused on our goals.

I think its really great that you are "Pre-planning" your week ahead!.. That is an EXCELLENT way to stay on top of your goals and be prepared! When we take those steps its very helpful and beneficial to keeping us on track.

I am on Weight Watchers currently... so I know what you mean about the "anxiety" of weigh-ins etc... and how that might have made you feel... I personally do "Online only" (since its cheaper)... But could probably use the accountability of the meetings! lol...especially since thats what they are there for.... But whatever you are doing, as long as its something that is working out for you in a healthy way, then you are doing a great job! Continue to keep up the great work that you are doing!

Please continue to check back and let us know how things are going, and how your new eating plan is going for you (as well as the challenges that you are involved in!) Would LOVE to hear more about them! Thanks so much for checking in this week and letting us know how you are doing~

@enthusiasticSpruce8104 That's so wonderful- finding a community you feel you can trust is such a great feeling so I'm glad that you were able to conquer a stressor because of that. I can personally relate to that. I had tendencies of binge eating as well. (I'm not going through a diet or anything but I just really thought your post was encouraging. Made me want to get into a healthier diet or pick up some sort of physical activity.)

What is "ONE" Positive thing that has happened for you this past week? Today I hung out with my girl crush and we listened to music and ate a bunch of good food and comfort food. We did not worry or care about the fact that his food will make us gain weight. I needed this because I found out a few weeks ago I have a type of lipodemia.

**How many of you will Celebrate "FATHERS DAY" This weekend? (Whoever might be the "Father Figure" in your life) What are your plans to celebrate?! I may call my dad to say happy fathers day but not really celebrate it.

**What have been your "Highlights" Or "Struggles" over this past week? What are your weekend Plans?! I am not sure about the weekend yet. Probably gonna spend time with my friends and take care of myself. Highlights is my amazing girl tribe around me and my sturggles is with my body and my conditon

Hey there!

How great that you were able to hangout with listen to music and eat comfort food.. Sometimes its those little things that are so good for the soul and leave us feeling so great mentally emotionally and physcially. Sounds like you had a great time and really enjoyed yourself. And sometimes we just need to do those things for ourselves to feel better!

Hopefully the weekend found you enjoying more time with your friends and taking care of yourself more as you were hoping to do. And how great that you have a "girl tribe" that you are comfortable with and can depend on.

Thanks so much for checking in this week and letting us know how things have been going for you!

Weeks are moving quickly as summer usually does. Trying to squeeze in as much outdoor activity as I can. Positive thing for me was finally catching up with projects around the house. I can slow down and enjoy the summer. Hope to be swimming by next week, but still doing my walking. I also find adding fruit to my diet is very refreshing. I like oranges and grapes with a small amount of honey mixed in. I usually eat a good size bowl of fruit as a snack everyday. Glad to hear your fitness tracker is working well. I have to think of upgrading also. I can not use it in water when swimming. Enjoy your weekend.

Hey there Sail! Always great to hear from you and see you each week!...Glad to hear that you've been able to catch up with those projects finally!.. Same here!... Due to the rain we've had, it kept me in the house a day or two to get some stuff done lol....

Its really nice that you are now able to slow down and start enjoying the summer weather! Summer goes by way to fast to not be able to enjoy it the way we want. Hope that you are able to get your "swimming" in soon as well. Let us know when you decide to update your tracker as well! What type are you thinking of? Are you a "Fitbit" or an "Apple" person?? I hear great stuff about "both" even though I've always had Fitbit.~

Glad to hear that you are enjoying your summer fruits, getting things done, enjoying your walks and finally enjoying this beautiful season the way you'd like!...

Thanks so much for checking in to let us know how you are doing! Always great to read your posts each week

**HELLO Everyone! How have you been doing this week?! If you're on other threads, I have mentioned that this week has been a week from Hell. I was rejected by two therapists and denied an online job. I also cannot figure out how to find housing that we can afford. I also lost a raffle was I really hoping for to be on a lottery show. I'm thinking it's really rigged.

**Today we are officially "HALF" Way through the month of JUNE already?!... How do you feel this month is going for you so far? What things are you working on or accomplishing so far this month?
June can be over now. I haven't been able to focus, but I want to finish my novel and reduce my things as I guess by our landlord we have too much clutter.

**What is "ONE" Positive thing that has happened for you this past week? I got to pet some puppies today.

**How many of you will Celebrate "FATHERS DAY" This weekend? (Whoever might be the "Father Figure" in your life) What are your plans to celebrate?! This a bit of overwhelming issues. I want to hang out with my dad, but i have serious issues with my stepmother and I do not want to put a wedge between them.

**What have been your "Highlights" Or "Struggles" over this past week? What are your weekend Plans?! I am cooking and resting this weekend. I hope to get some writing in as long as I have energy.

**What would "YOU" like to talk about or share with us?! WE want to hear from "YOU"!! smiley Please send prayers and/or positive vibes that this cloud over my life changes.

Hey there!

Great to hear from you this week.. Sorry to hear that you are still having housing issues.. I do hope that things start to fall together with that for you and your family....

In the Midst of all the concerns that you've been struggling with, its really nice that you were able to find some solace with the puppies and being able to pet them!.. Pets surely do have a nice healing for the soul effect!

Sorry to hear that you've had some issues with your step-mom that keep you from spending time with your dad. I've been there, twice... So I know how that can be... Hopefully you were able to at least call him or talk to him somehow?!

Hopefully you were able to get the rest in that you wanted and needed this past weekend!

With everything going on for you, we are really glad that you take the time to check in here and let us know how things are going and just to vent and let us know how you are feeling. We are here to support you. Continued positive vibes sent your way!

@betterchoices

Hey there!

Its great that June has been going really good for you... Sorry to hear about your ongoing health issues and concerns. Hopefully you are currently feeling better as you read this!...

I think its awesome that you are trying to eat healthier on a budget... Its can be a challenging thing to do, but, it can be done for sure!... You just have to know the right places to shop, perhaps check your local ads and compare the prices, as well as look for discounts and coupons if you have them or can find them. Sometimes you can find them online as well!

How nice that you are attempting to get outside more. It can really be refreshing and help you to feel better mentally, emotionally and physically! How nice that you were able to take a hike with your brother... Sounds like you had alot of fun and really enjoyed it?!

I know getting proper sleep and rest can really be a challenge for some of us... For me, its due to the fact that I just like to stay up late because I'm "night-owl".... But, perhaps if you tried laying down a few moments earlier each night, and taking time to shut everything off about 30-60 minutes before going to sleep, perhaps that can help? Not really sure why you are resting well, but trying those things could perhaps help?

Good luck to you on being able to get on a healthier schedule!.. Thanks so much for checking in and letting us know how you've been doing. Please check back and continue to keep us informed!

Hi, I'm new to this thread which means I don't check in daily... I also don't visit the site often anymore, only when I fall off the mindfulness methods that I learned from here, actually. I usually resort to returning here if I have great difficulties managing my depression and anxieties.

Recently or the past two weeks, I've fallen off my wagon so to speak. I used to have this regulated work schedule (I'm a freelance artist) and I haven't been following it. I have difficulties waking and getting up in the morning. I feel lethargic most of the day. Usually, for me, these are indicators that I am not mentally well. I know that if I start taking naps also that I would be in an even worse place. So immediately I knew that I needed to figure out what was wrong before I spiraled.

I had this big project I was looking forward to launching this week but unfortunately was unable to get to because I didn't have enough of the day to actually work on it. I feel like these two weeks just passed me by and I wasn't present in it to actually live it. It's always frustrating being in this mindset/situation because I know that it's not my conscious decision to be this way.

I recently (like a couple of hours ago) figured out that I was self-sabotaging myself. I guess, I hyped this project so much that I scared myself away from it (which isn't a first for me). I was looking forward to launching my project but I also know now that I was afraid that it wouldn't do well. So, before it could tank, I just straight up halted it myself. And this sucks because like I said, I was looking forward to it. I hate that there are times where depression and anxiety wins and I have to pick back up the pieces it wreaked havoc in. But I also know that I have the support and methods to go through these issues which means the problem is temporary.

As long as I am brave and true to myself, I can get through this obstacle and get to the things I enjoy. Truthfully, I don't think I'd be able to conclude this if not without the years of practicing the lessons I learned at 7cot.

Hey there

Welcome back to 7cups (Since you say you aren't here very often).... Sorry to hear that the anxieties and depression have shown their ugly heads again in your life....

I find it really amazing that you realize this, and know how to take charge in helping yourself and reaching out for help and support at a time you know you need it! And I think its even greater that you "know" within yourself that YOU can get through and make it (through the obstacles!) and get back to the better things in your life.

Its really wonderful that 7cups has benefited you in your life so well, and that you are able to take the "basic" steps of coming back here and getting back to where you feel and know you need to be!

You are doing amazing! And we are very glad to have you here, and have you checking in with us to let us know how you are doing. Please continue to check back and keep us updated and know that we are all here to support you! Keep up the great work that you are doing for yourself and Thank you so much for taking the time to check in!

Just having a place to rant/vent is so nice too or like a soundboard. Plus to be surrounded by others who understand is really helpful too. It doesn't feel like talking to a wall or something like that.

Hi all,

I wanted to post in this thread because I am feeling like I need to stop drinking alcohol because I think alcohol worsens my mental health problems. Hopefully that is considered healthy living.

One positive thing that happened this week was that I looked for a new job. Looking for jobs is hard, and I have not done a ton to try to secure a new job. I am trying my best to use neutral language with myself though because I can easily slip into judgment of myself about not finding a job.

I don't know if it's reasonable to say "I haven't done a ton to secure a new job" or not. I think I have done a reasonable amount to try to secure a new job.

My desire to stop drinking alcohol stems from trying to improve myself so that I feel better day-to-day. I drank two strong beers last night and felt depressed today due to that.

Thanks for listening.

Hey there! Welcome to the Healthy Living Community. We are glad to have you here.

Its really awesome as well as "Brave" of you to be able to reach out and share your feelings about alcohol in your life. Its amazing that you are aware of the issue and concern and that you want to take the steps to improve yourself and your life so that you are able to feel better (Physically, mentally and emotionally)!... All of these go together hand-in-hand.

Alcohol dependancy or use, can affect all of these things in a negative way, therefore creating negative concerns/situations in your life. But coming here and taking steps to get help, or talk about it is a really great 'Positive" step moving forward! So great job to you on that!

We are here to help to support you in anyway that we can whether you need to talk, share or vent... There are also other subcommunities here as well that may also be able to give you the support you need as well! So you have lots of options.

Best of luck to you on being able to secure yourself employment! And taking the first steps to deal with the alcohol may also actually help you to feel better and more "confident" in being able to get there as well!... Thank you so much for reaching out and checking in with us this week and for introducing yourself. Please continue to check back to let us know how you are doing!
