**This past week went better... Started to feel better physically (after ending last week not feeling the best)... Kept on track with Everything! So that was a huge plus. Kept up with workouts and tracking, and teaching classes etc....
**We are a few short days away from Spring time and I for one will like to see a little less rain outside than we've been getting for some reason. It doesn't snow here but "once" a year or every 2 years ... So instead we get "Rain" during our winter. I don't mind it, but ready to see a little less of it. The temps on the other hand are starting to "Warm-Up" a little which is nice. But it also makes for finding something to wear a little more challenging when you have to keep going back and forth with it all.
**On a more serious side, The whole "CORONA" thing is taking its toll in the media and in surrounding areas. A little tired of seeing it, hearing about it, reading it etc......BUT I also know we must stayed informed and up to date with info...As of Friday, ALL of my SENIOR/ ZUMBA GOLD classes have been cancelled~
..... I knew it would be coming eventually with everything going on.... So now waiting for the owner of my Fitness Studio (Where I teach Regular Zumba) to decide what "She" is going to do next?~I will be honest and say, that I could use the break. Just to recharge myself, get things done around the house, and work on some new choreo for All of my classes. All surrounding School Systems and Gyms have decided to Close and Shut down for the next 1-2 Weeks!... So will see what happens from there.....I know that I will remove myself from the situation If I find that I'm uncomfortable and can no longer continue to teach (if she doesn't plan to make a move herself)....
**Saturday, since our studio is open, I was intending to go try out a KICKBOXING class~ And since this is on the schedule, I thought I'd try something different and see if I like it..... Then there is supposed to be a St. Patricks Day POUND Class at the local warehouse, so I might catch that as well?!...
STAY SAFE EVERYONE~ ![]()
**Hey Everyone~ How have things been for you this past week?
I'm tired. Lots of changes this week with the corona virus. My campus is shutting down and finals are next week.
**This is our 2nd Check -in for the Month of March, AND.. its crazy, but we are almost "Half" way through the month already?!..
...How have things been going for you so far this month?
Tiring
**We have been facing some Challenging times recently with the whole "CORONA" Issue... What are your thoughts on this? How does this make you feel? What things are you doing to protect yourself and your health? How have things changed in your area due to this?!
My family is preparing for the worst case scenario. It's stressful but I would feel worse if we weren't taking these precautions.
**For those of you that were affected, Have you gotten yourself physically/mentally caught up with things from the time change? DO you feel you are settling into more of a routine again?
The time change never has a lasting effect. I think I'm already back to where I was before.
**Its Almost SPRING-TIME for MANY of us~ Only a few days away. Are you ready and looking forward to it? How do you feel it will help in the way you feel physcially and mentally?
It will be nice to be on spring break. I need a break from the responsibilities of school and focus more on me again.
@SecretlyMe
Sounds like overall you are just taking things in stride and taking them day by day as they come. Seems like thats all many of us can do right now~
I know its going to be a crazy time for those in school right now, or getting ready to try to finish up school, graduate etc.. .I feel bad for those that are "trying" to graduate at this time. I know the end of the year/semester can bring its own challenges, but not being able to do all those little things that you'd normally do could be rather sad for some.
I hope all this calms down within the next month. Take care and thanks for checking in to let us know how things are going!
@PoliteOcean
hello ocean!
this past week has been... exhausting. i got really sick on monday after my trip on the weekend and am still sick. we dont know if its the corona virus, but since i didnt leave my house i made sure to not put anyone else in danger. so i basically stayed inside the whole week. yesterday i also found out school is cancelled for 5 weeks, so i will be staying in for even a longer time.
march.... so far it has been good. academically a good month, health wise not so good. i had such a lovely, unforgettable trip last weekend though!
the corona virus... i do think that all the panic in the media is not good and not valid, although i do agree that it is important to stay considerate in this time. many of my friends are saying they are still going to go out and that it wont affect them that much, but i believe that is not fair since they could give it to other people who could be severely affected. so in my opinion, everyone should just stay home for this time even if they think they will not be affected.
spring... i am definitely looking forward to spring. i am excited for the weather to get warmer and to be able to spend more time outside (after all this corona stuff) and enjoy nature.
highlights this past week: the trip, my brother coming home to us (although its only because of the corona virus, but hes still here)
struggles: i am still really sick, boredom, not being able to go outside
@AveryLove
Aww...so sorry to hear that you're not feeling well again Avery. I sure hope its not Corona, and nothing serious. Best wishes for you to continue to heal and get better.
I agree this is a really good time for everyone to be considerate of "others"! .. And just stay inside or avoid public places when you can or stay in small groups if you have to be out and about. Sounds like many of us are off from work, school etc.. and sounds like its going to be for awhile. I for one hope to take plenty of advantage of it and get many things done that i've put off! lol....
Its great that things are going well academically for you! Congrats. Keep up the great work. And how nice that you got to take an enjoyable trip. Do you think that trip could've been what made you sick?!?... Have you been seen or tested? Just a thought.
Its nice to have Springtime to look forward to right now with so much going on... At least if we have to stay home, we could still go outside and sit in the grass, or on the porch etc.. and enjoy the warm sun!
Thanks so much for checking in this week and letting us know how things are going. You take care, and stay safe and healthy!
Hey Everyone~ How have things been for you this past week? Not good, struggling between my depression and fighting this head cold. (No its not the virus, because I do not get out enough to get exposed.)
**This is our 2nd Check -in for the Month of March, AND.. its crazy, but we are almost "Half" way through the month already?!..
...How have things been going for you so far this month? Energy levels have been a big deal, I understand sleep is important, but it's a struggle for me. Life is way too short to.simply sleep life away. However if I don't get enough sleep, I have very limited energy and the more tired I am the easier I get depressed.
**We have been facing some Challenging times recently with the whole "CORONA" Issue... I understand be prepared, bUT I think the media is making it scarier than it is.
What are your thoughts on this? How does this make you feel? I know I have a head cold right, so out of respect for others I'm simply staying home.
What things are you doing to protect yourself and your health? How have things changed in your area due to this?! I am making sure I'm taking my vitamins. It seems less people are going out.
**For those of you that were affected, Have you gotten yourself physically/mentally caught up with things from the time change? DO you feel you are settling into more of a routine again? I try to keep routine, but this cold only has me working and sleep in bursts.
**Its Almost SPRING-TIME for MANY of us~ Only a few days away. Are you ready and looking forward to it? How do you feel it will help in the way you feel physcially and mentally? I want to go for more walks
**What have been your "Highlights" Or "Struggles" over this past week? Head cold, not too much, except there was a guy who ghosted me months ago trying to get back into my life
** It's also ST. PATRICKS DAY on TUES. the 17th! .. ANY PLANS?! What are your weekend plans?! Nope
**What would "YOU" like to talk about or share with us?! WE want to hear from "YOU"~
please send healing vibes
@Rebekahwriter13
Sounds like you have some things on your plate with trying to recover and get over your illness at this time....... All I know is the more sleep I get when I'm not feeling well, the better I'm able to recouperate and recover... Sounds like you may need more of it if you are continuing to struggle with low or limited energy, as well as trying to keep your depression under control.
But even if you aren't prioritizing sleep at the moment while being ill, its great that you are respecting others and being cautious to help in not spreading it to others. Especially at such a vulnerable time for many. And continuing to get vitamins in as well.
Hopefully with the change of weather and it warming up in many places over the next few days, you will find yourself feeling better (or perhaps you already are feeling better at this time?!).. Thanks so much for checking in this week as we haven't seen you in awhile , and for keeping us up to date on things.
1. Feel like there have been so many changes at once. Our school has closed for a while and extended spring break along with it. But seniors are still expected to get things done on campus so I feel like it defeats the whole social-distancing thing if we have to be there. I'm grateful for extra time to adjust but it's gonna take longer for me than I thought. My anxiety kicked in when we got an email saying someone from our school's community - not campus though - was tested and we're waiting on results. I've always carried hand-sanitizer, even before this so I'll keep doing that, increase hand-washing, cleaning surfaces I touch, stop touching my face so much.
2. Nah. Some days I'm not tired at all when it's bed time and other days I'm so groggy and fatigued all day. I don't think I was ever really settled into a fixed routine this year. Had a loose outline of one. Maybe that's my problem.
3. Spring usually lifts my mood, along with warmer weather in general. But I feel this spring will be bleak. Just... don't have a good feeling in my stomach about it. I haven't exercised at all this week for a couple of reasons, so maybe it'll be good for me to ease back into walking and do it outside for once.
4. Oof. Don't wanna go there. Feel free to read my long posts in other fourms though.
5. Well I have a doc appointment that day, my only plans. Completely forgot about St. Patricks. My household and friends don't really celebrate it either. Honestly not even sure how to properly celebrate it. Should educate myself on it, feelin pretty ignorant
@Lexloveslife
I am really shocked to hear that they still want / expect seniors to be on campus at this time?!.. Not sure if they have you all in a classroom together or just allowing you to use the premises to get things done that are needed to be turned in on time? That certainly would defeat social distancing during this time. Some guidelines are no more than 50... but theres also updated guidelines for no more than 10 people gathered together. Its so crazy right now trying to keep up with all the new rules day by day. Thats enough to create more anxiety than needed.... But sounds like you are totally doing your part to follow precautions the best you can.
I had some thoughts about Spring similar to yours, but I think for me, it has to do mostly with all this craziness going on around us. Like it might be challenging to actually "enjoy" it, if we can't get out to do much?! lol.. I do hope this all calms down within the next month!
Thanks for checking in and keeping us up to date on things.. Now that I have a little more time on my hands I might actually be able to go to some of the other forums to read up on what you didn't want to post here!?!
@PoliteOcean
Hey there, they actually overturned it the next day because some more cases popped up. So now, everyone is expected to move out by the 21st, yesterday seniors & grad students could pick up belongings from campus if they left stuff, and from now on the campus is completely closed. Though students who need to live in dorms because they have no place to go / medical conditions can still do that with a special request. They're giving resources for food, mental health, physical safety, etc. We're still expected to get homework done but it's so stressful even though it's spring break. Everyone is thinking about the virus, not homework.
How have things been going for you so far this month?
So far it's been okay. Nonthing much has changed.
**We have been facing some Challenging times recently with the whole "CORONA" Issue... What are your thoughts on this? How does this make you feel? What things are you doing to protect yourself and your health? How have things changed in your area due to this?!
I think it's serious but it's over hyped by the media. I mean, I don't leave the house much and I wash my hands. Certian things are now closed and activies are going anymore.
**Its Almost SPRING-TIME for MANY of us~ Only a few days away. Are you ready and looking forward to it? How do you feel it will help in the way you feel physcially and mentally?
I'm looking forward to warm weather so I can garden and spend time outside. I'm like a flower that needs to bloom in the sun.
**What have been your "Highlights" Or "Struggles" over this past week?
I can go to work again, but work is trying to screw me over.
** It's also ST. PATRICKS DAY on TUES. the 17th! .. ANY PLANS?! What are your weekend plans?!
I have no plans, Just stay home and relax.
@Goldcherry2113
Thats great for you that things seem to be holding their own and steady. I think many of us are looking forward to Spring time.. I do hope personally that all this Corona business will be gone within the next month so that we will be able to enjoy it more. Its not supposed to thrive as well in warmer weather. So hopefully we will hear alot LESS about it!
I'm with you and I'm ready for some sunshine!.
Thats great that you can go to work again. Sorry to hear you are having some issues with it though at this time. Hope whatever it is, that you are able to get it worked out. Continue to let us know how things are going with that!
Thanks for checking in this week to let us know how things are going.
@PoliteOcean The doctors pulled me off work now. They don't want me getting sick as I'm a high risk. So fun stuff haha
@PoliteOcean Things were pretty calm this past week. I hired a new caretaker, Anita, and she completed her first assignment on Friday. My financial condition is improving. I wish people would stop panicking about the coronavirus. Panic creates more panic, which creates more panic, etc. I hope to start cooking lunches for myself soon. I like to cook and I find it therapeutic. My life is much better now that I don't have to smell other people's feces. I have an important appointment with my primary care physician on Wednesday. I hope to start acupuncture treatment soon.
@Regmo
Hey there Regmo! Wow.. sounds like you have a much better check-in this week and that theres been a much better improvement for you since the last one! Thats great. You sound like you are in a much better place. Its great that you finally have a new caretaker to help out. And that your finances are improving as well. Thats especially great with so much going on at this time.Thats great that you will be able to possibly start cooking for yourself again. Good luck on your appointment , hopefully you will be able to start your much awaited accupuncture. Continue to keep us updated! Always good to hear from you. Thanks for checking in and letting us know how you are doing!
Hey there !
Things have going pretty well lately, both at work and at home. Ive been able to do some sports again as I had been taking things slow for a bit due to having slightly injured my knee. Sleep has been rather well. Eating hasnt been at its best but Im hoping to go back to preparing meals for my week so that I can bring my food to work, instead of skipping lunch.
Although I actually wont need it for some time since I just learned I cant go to work starting Monday due to the coronavirus… Im not really worried about the virus in itself (except for the elderly in my family) but Im kinda fearing the quarantine. Looking at our neighbour Italy who is ahead of us by a few days, it seems that it is the next step. All schools have already been closed, all public places like shops, movies, sport centers, bars, restaurants and everything not necessary has been closed as well. I also dont know whether I should go back to my mothers place or not, I dont think it would be good for my mental health at all but I also dont want her to be alone in this time. Its just a lot of uncertainties about whats best for everyone.
The weather was (finally) spring-like today and I was able to go on a run Saturday and a walk today so that was great and Im hoping to keep that up this week so as not to stay locked up at home.
Congrats Ocean on staying on tracks with everything! Take care!
@LinearWaves
Hey there Waves!...
So glad to hear that things have been going well for you during this crazy time! lol...Its so great for you that you are able to get back at sports again! (I have knee issues as well so I can sympathize with you to a certain degree)... Its difficult to get side-lined and have to stop what you are doing, or stop the momentum that you are in. But its great that you were taking things slow! I'm sure you are so glad to be back doing what you enjoy.
Despite that your eating has been off, its great that your sleep has been well to counter-act some of it.... as well as making plans to start improving on your lunches too!
Things are the same here as far as Corona.. things are slowly closing down little by little.. Eateries, schools, gyms etc... (Even my Studio has now closed as of today... so no more workouts or teaching for a bit) YIKES!... That is surely a starting point for me with "boredom-eating"! lolol...
I hope its not the same for you!..
On a more serious note, I do hope that you are able to figure out what works BEST for you at this time.. Whether its staying with your mom or not.. I know sometimes we have to put our feelings aside in certain situations, however, we need to also take care of our mental well-being or we can't be good for ourselves or anyone else. I do hope you find a solution between the two!
Thats awesome that you were able to get out and about for some workouts and activity! I'm excited too b/c it warmed up today here as well.. and I was able to get out for walking as well. I'm totally in agreement that I'm hoping to keep it up too during this challenging time!
Thanks so much for the kind words as well.. You are always so sweet!
And.. as always, its so great to hear from you, and I hope that you continue to stay safe at this time, and thank you so much for checking in with us this week to let us know how you are doing!
@PoliteOcean
Thanks for your kind words x France is officially in quarantine now, so I decided to drive back in a bit of a rush the other day before they announced it. My sister is sick, not tested though, but my mother has had contact with her so I preferred coming back in case she gets sick as well so I can take care of her. It
...How have things been going for you so far this month?
I've been doing my yoga every day, since I'm looking for work and social distancing!
**We have been facing some Challenging times recently with the whole "CORONA" Issue... What are your thoughts on this? How does this make you feel? What things are you doing to protect yourself and your health? How have things changed in your area due to this?!
I'm glad I'm surrounded by a lot of people that aren't panicking! I'm social distancing and making sure to wash my hands a lot! Many businesses have county-wide orders to shut down indefinitely near me! Kinda crazy. The house went and stocked up on groceries in case there's a shut down, and I'm very happy we did! I've been eating healthier, which is great!
**For those of you that were affected, Have you gotten yourself physically/mentally caught up with things from the time change? DO you feel you are settling into more of a routine again?
I am loving more sunlight in my day! It makes me so much more productive.
**Its Almost SPRING-TIME for MANY of us~ Only a few days away. Are you ready and looking forward to it? How do you feel it will help in the way you feel physcially and mentally?
I look forward to being able to spend more time on my patio, and opening the windows! Thank goodness c-19 isn't airborne. Haha.
**What have been your "Highlights" Or "Struggles" over this past week?
Highlights: Eating better and keeping track of my yoga!
Struggles: Cabin fever!
** It's also ST. PATRICKS DAY on TUES. the 17th! .. ANY PLANS?! What are your weekend plans?!
No St. Paddy's plans-- besides maybe drinking with some friends and watching Irish-themed movies the night of!
@betterchoices
Haha.. I love your check-in! As I'm glad Corona isn't airborne either! I loved having my windows opened within these past few days with the pending warmer springtime weather.
That is awesome that you are continuing to keep up with your yoga by doing it daily! Sounds like you have a really great routine and healthy habit there!
Thats great that you were able to get out and get all the necessary things that you need from the store. Its so crazy right now in many places that its hard to get things that are truly needed. So its awesome for you that you are able to stay on top of things and eat healthy at this time!
You are doing such a great job for yourself, continue to keep up the great work you are doing!
And keep pushing through that Cabin Fever! You''ve got this!!...
Thanks so much for checking in this week to let us know how things are going for you!
@PoliteOcean You are always so kind. <3 Thank you, it means a lot.
Urgh what a ridiculous day yesterday - some people omg!
Anyway, I've had a fairly serene day, which is always good like being in a library or a regular office. I've managed to swerve some thing. Sorted some stuff out that has been really pressing on me, meditated a lot in regular bite size chunks (totally helpful), ate well - made some conscious healthy choices (yay!), drank well, just blocked myself from insanity.
Oh, not that I do on a regular basis but my skin is looking glowing today so that's bonus!
Have a great evening!
