**This past week has gone well... I kept on track with eating, water, sleep, keeping up with my appointments..and I got back to teaching my "Regular" Zumba classes again (along with my Zumba Gold classes...., (Still taking a break from teaching POUND at the moment) and will continue to ease myself back there at some point...... I am enjoying not having such a full schedule of classes at the moment and having that extra day back to get other things done. I also enjoy "Being" the "participant" as well and get to enjoy "others" classes and get "my" workout in....Its been easy to get back to working out after getting knocked off track for those few weeks I had to stop due to the pain I had that came on all of a sudden,...Now, I just have to continue to concentrate on the Food intake, thats the challenging part for me. After those few weeks of not-so-great choices, its easy to keep making those same choices. But I'm finally feel like I got a better hand on it since last week.
**I'm so glad that the winter season is officially over for now and waiting for it to start warming up! Its been sunny here and mild, but the air is still a little "chilly" to me.~ But its nice to see the sunshine more frequently and It will be even nicer to see it start warming up, and everything start to "bloom" again~ Was able to get some walking in again this past week and get my Dog out again so that was nice.~ It will be nice to start incorporating more outdoor walking and activity into my week....I also managed to get some light "Spring-cleaning" done this week as well... Hoping to get a few more little things done over the weekend or by the end of next week at least. and get some plants out on my front porch this year now that we fiinally got the front porch painted last summer~ Hoping that our next project will be to get our back porch painted this season before Summer hits!
**Today is my FREE day, although I've been taking it easy from Pound classes for the past month, there is a Zumba class today that I would like to attend if I can manage to get up and moving and get there. Will see how that goes. I have a few small errands as I usually sometimes do on Saturdays, but mostly hope to just relax and just enjoy the day or maybe a little shopping~
ENJOY YOUR WEEKEND~![]()
**How has this past week gone for you?!
This week was ok, been working alot and not really paying attention to my water intake let alone what i was eating. Been working on getting a new facility open and working my regular shifts. Its been alot of caffeine and lots of not so health friendly choices :\
**What healthy things have you done for yourself this past week? What things have you done that made feel good physically, mentally and emotionally?
Well my muscles have been screaming at me all achy haha, tho not a real workout, been walking, standing, squating to stock. Mentally been listening to alot of good music and chatting with good ppl. Emotionally its pretty good, got triggered with a negative emotion but i fought away from it, tho it took several hours, i was still able to be positive at the end of the day.
**Many of us entered "SPRING-TIME" this week! What did you do on the "First" Day of Spring? What is your Favorite part of this season?
I was actually at work on the First day of Spring, it was a gorgeous day here. My favorite part is the energy Spring brings...bring, light, and warm <3
**What have been your "Highlights" Or "Struggles" this past week?
My food choices and water intake was my struggles this week. My highlights were from happy patients, been complimented and thanked a lot for my work and care, i gave myself a pat in the back for that :)
**What are your weekend Plans?!
Going away for the weekend, Vegas trip, wanted to see the Stadium being built and just a lil bit of R & R and fun.
**What would "YOU" like to talk about or share with us?! WE want to hear from "YOU"!!
Only that I ENJOY and appreciate this community....thank you @PoliteOcean for keeping us active :D
@Keola
Hey Keola! Its so great to see you check in this week!
Sounds like you've been so incredibly busy lately!. I know how it goes with Nursing. Its such a busy job, especially when doing things like moving around or getting things set up in a new area.. Things like that can really be demanding of our time and energy. So it can be understandable that one might not make the healthiest of choices.
Its nice that you took the time out to do some good things for yourself like listening to good music and chatting with good people! Both things can be really good for the soul~ I'm sorry to hear that you were batttleling a negative emotion but it great that you were able to deal with it, fight it off and push past it! I know personally how challenging that can be. But the positive outcome is that you were able to get through even if it took longer than you desired, and you were able to overcome it and end on a positive day! So thats awesome!
I totally agree with you that Spring can be such an energizing time! Its so nice to be out of the dullness of the Winter season~ I'm looking forward to warmer temps and more sunshine myself~
I'm sorry to hear that you've been struggling with your food choices.. Once again, its certainly not always easy, just remember to try to be kind to yourself because none of us are perfect when it comes down to it. But on a more Positive note, it sounds like you have so much to be grateful for in your patients! Having happy patients, being complimented and appreciated and thanked for your work is truly AWESOME! Its one of the greatest joys as a caregiver to know that what we do for someone else truly matters and makes a difference in their lives! YOU deserve to "pat yourself on the back for it"! Great job ![]()
Sounds like you have an amazing trip as well as quality time planned for yourself in Vegas?! I'm sure you will have an amazing time!
I thank you SOOO much for the lovely compliment! Just know how much I truly appreciate you and everyone in this community. Without all of you, there would be no Healthy Living Community! Thank you so much for taking time out of your busy Schedule to check in this week and let us all know how you've been doing! Its been really great to hear from you today. Please check back to soon to let us know how you are doing AND.... how your trip went!
I am also glad winter is finished as Spring always boost my energy levels, which I think is true for most people. First day of Spring was spent outdoors even if the weather was not as warm as I would like for a Spring day. But I know going forward the weather only gets better. Still on track eating healthy and getting my exercise in. Staying on track I think is easier in the warm weather. This weekend will be spent getting organized with things put away for the winter that we use in the Spring and Summer. Enjoy your weekend.
@sail46
Hey there Sail!... I knew you most of all would be so glad to welcome the Spring season!.. lol.... I knew you were counting down the days!...
Its great that you are continuing to keep on track with everything and that you are getting things organized. It feels so good to put behind all the dullness of the winter season and move forward into fresh new beginnings of the warmer seasons ahead.~
I completely agree that it is so much easier to stay on track with the warmer weather because simply we aren't stuck in the house as much and we aren't wearing as many clothes either lol... so theres "less" to hide behind
.
Sounds like you will have a very productive weekend ahead of you!... Thank you so much for checking in this week and for continuing to motivate me as well!~ Always enjoy, appreciate and look forward to hearing from you each week!
@PoliteOcean Monday March 17 I had to cancel a Dr. appt. because I wasn't feeling well. I finally got to see my doctor on Thursday March 21st. He is finally getting things to move along. The funding for a new round of treatement isn't going to come through. My doctor wants me to go to the physical therapy, and I want to do the rolfing. One of my doctors said we'll get you there eventually. I start physical therapy on Tuesday, but I'm not excited about it. I'm going to make changes to my diet. I wasn't eating any fruit, and trying to include more organic probiotic food instead of just taking a supplement. I'm still trying to get a new caretaker because I have lost the funding for that. My Comcast technician called me "fabulous" He had been to my house a few times before, so I just he caught onto my positive energy.
@Regmo
Hey there Regmo!...
So sorry to hear that you had to cancel your appointment because you weren't feeling well... I hope that you are feeling better now since then!..
Its great that you doctor is finally getting things going for you and moving along. Its good that you are going to do physical therapy. I'm sure it can really be benefical for you and help you in the long run! And its good that you are going to take the time to make changes to your diet. Its sounds like you are doing the best that you can do in trying to take good care of yourself.
I'm sorry to hear that the funding for your treatment isn't going through and that you haven't found a caregiver yet.... I wish you all the best that you will be able to soon find one to help you out with your needs. I'm sure it will greatly help you.
Its nice that your Comcast tech called you fabulous! Sounds like they realized what a great person you are and felt the need to let you know that!... How awesome for you! I'm sure it made you feel good~
I hope that you are enjoying your weekend. Take care of yourself and thank you so much for checking in this week and letting us know how you've been doing!
Sh*t, sh*t, sh*t. A couple of days I'll be OK, then collapse and feel like cr**. ANYTHING that could be remotely related to EDs triggers me heavily, both with EDs and sui thoughts. I'm so unstable... When will it get better? Will it ever get better?
Lately I can cook healthy meals most of the days, but then I keep eating non stop outside meals, and doing nothing but a little cleaning here and there around the house. I haven't got enough mental space to study and (at least? Or should this be a bad thing?) despite the amount of junk I eat I'm not gaining weight, I'm actually still underweight, and I've been eating like that for a month at least. And anyway eating junk non stop was NOT how I wanted to gain weight.
I can't bring myself to spend time with my cat and give him the right amount of attention, same goes with my friends and my hobbies. I feel a lot like a burden, because I have so many issues that can't but affect other people, and I'm so little independent, always needing help for every damn thing, and there's not an organic cause to this, just my supposed psychological issues! I feel such a failure.... My mother wasn't totally wrong when she asked why, if the problem was (mainly) her, her other child wasn't like me. I also got to know that my boyfriend's best friend said to him that he wouldn't wish what he's going through with me to anyone. And how could I blame him? I myself think so as well! How do I stop this?
The week went well for me. I started looking for volunteer work and the first place i looked is really happy to have volunteers. I had to go for a TB test and that wrapped up on Friday. I tested negative.. So that is really good news and I take in my paperwork on Monday to go over with the Peer Support counselor. I struggled a little bit with the teenagers being home and them obviously NOT wanting adult company, how to get my clothes out of a shared space etc, but it was okay. I think my favorite part of the season is how mild it is and how the sun is out.
Let me start by sharing how I got here, why I'm particpating.
When 2018 was coming to an end. I have realised something had to be changed, so for new year's resoloution mine was to become more active and healthier since these two that work together can change our mental health and our we think, bring out so many postive incomes.
I have decided to make this my new year's resoloution, still going strong today to achieve my goal to improve my over all health. It's going very well. Thanks to advancements in technology with Google Fit other all kinds, I'm not going to let anything stop me for reaching this new goal I'm going to achieve in 2019.

Hey there.. Sorry to hear you were having issues with your anger and depression.. I hope that you are feeling better now on both aspects!
Congrats to you on drinking less soda and more tea, ... good job on making some healthier choices for yourself!...
If you slept more, sounds like thats what your body needed?!..
I love Lilacs too!.. My great-aunt (who passed away a few years ago) had an awesome lilac bush in her yard when I was growing up.. I remember it smelling so amazing .. I loved that thing. Lilacs are surely a great springtime scent.. Sorry about what sounds like allergies for you!
Hopefully you were able to get all of your cooking , cleaning and editing done! Sounds like a busy weekend ahead for you! As well as writing over 35,000 words on your writing projects!... Wow!... You will be a "busy-bee" for sure!
Thanks for checking in this week and keeping us up to date on how things have been going for you!
@PoliteOcean I love to stay busy. . . it keeps me from overthinking. (Overthinking leads to my depression and anxiety.)
I got out today and I got to cook in a huge kitchen and it reallys helped. I cooked with my brother and neighbor who is like a brother to me. . . we made: bacon meatloaf, BBQ meatloaf, roasted chicken with bacon, fried chicken, (we got a free bag of gruyere cheese sauce from a friend ) and made home made agrutin potatoes. It was really good, very filling.
I just need days like this more. It helped my anger and depression. I also do not have to cook tomorrow as we have plenty of leftovers. Yay! I get to edit and write tomorrow.
@PoliteOcean
**What healthy things have you done for yourself this past week? What things have you done that made feel good physically, mentally and emotionally? I re-bonded with a friend and spoke to a listener on a guest account, and organised counselling in real life. A week I went cycling which made me feel good physically, having jokes with my friend made me feel good mentally and emotionally.
**Many of us entered "SPRING-TIME" this week! What did you do on the "First" Day of Spring? What is your Favorite part of this season? My favourite part of this season is my boyfriend's birthday and Easter
