**AND ANY AND ALL NEWBIES!! PLEASE FEEL FREE TO SHARE YOUR WEEK WITH US!
**This past week was about SelfCare and Rest.... I only taught One class this week on Monday as I had a dental appointment earlier in the day. So I had my regular afternoon class afterwards. And then that was it. I spent the rest of this past week resting, sleeping in, resting my body and my mind. Trying to indulge in as much selfcare as I could and just taking it easy with it being a Holiday week.
**Thanksgiving Day we spent at my Mom's house. We had a wonderful and amazing day. A nice little gathering just the 5 of us. (My parents, hubby, son and me). I didn't really stay on any plan or track. I enjoyed the day to the fullest and enjoyed every ounce of my mothers amazing cooking.~
**No major plans for this weekend ahead. I will continue to rest up again before starting another new month ahead with classes etc... Working on Holiday playlists, choreo etc... and Getting ready to deal with Christmas shopping and getting on top of things there. I can't believe its less than a month away already~ Yikes!
ENJOY THE WEEKEND~
**Hey Everyone~How have you been this week? I wish I could say great, but I've had a bit of a scuff with a close friend and that is weighing on me a bit.
**This is the LAST Check-in for the Month of November!... How do you feel this month has gone for you Overall? What would you liked to have changed or done differently this month? What things will you do differently in the new month ahead? It's gone way too fast and I feel like I blinked and it was gone. I think I spent too much time being moody, eating my feelings or sleeping. In the new month I want to rededicate to self-care and learn how to sustain myself emotionally by myself even though I'm an extrovert.
**How would you "Sum" up the Month of November for yourself? What is the Most Positive and grateful thing that this past month has held for You?! The best thing for me has been physical therapy and seeing my dog happy at my parents place.. sleepy but wagging her tail on Thanksgiving. The story about my dog killing a rat in the backyard and presenting it as a present to my Dad because I know she loves him and is happy where she is.
**How Was your Thanksgiving Holiday? How did you spend it? How were you able to keep it Healthy for yourself? If you didn't celebrate, how did you spend your day?! It was simple for me.. we had a basic soup and 1 dessert. We did a videoconference with the relatives.
**What have been your "Highlights or Struggles" this past week? What were you able to do to work through the struggles? I'm still trying to work through the struggle part. Its hard to know what to do, or if I can fix the friendship.
@AvidGamer293
Hey there!...
Sorry to hear that you have some things weighing on your mind at this time regarding your friend. I do hope that things work out.
I can certainly relate and understand your feelings this past month of being moody, sleeping and eating your feelings. It can certainly be challenging and difficult to go through a period like that. And sometimes it can be challenging to refocus and come out of those feelings. But its so great that you are staying positive and planning to rededicate yourself to selfcare and sustaining your emotions.
Its good that you found help in your physical therapy and that your dog is so very happy as well. Its good for us emotionally when we know are pets our doing good and being taken care of and loved.
Thats nice that you were able to do a video-chat with your relatives for Thanksgiving. How nice and a great way to continue to keep up to date with them. As well as a great way to stay connected with each other. I guess that is the "new way" for now... it might even continue to be that way long after Corona is over. People might find it more conveient moving forward? What type of dessert and soup did you enjoy?!
Hopefully you are able to move forward beyond your current struggles. Its hard when someone we care about or someone we even "previously" cared about is invovled. Hopefully you can get it all worked out moving forward.
Thanks for checking in this week and letting us know how you've been doing!
I agree the month has gone by fast. I've discovered all sorts of things in my life, not all positive. I'm trying to be positive about them. I have a friend who has been very supportive and I appreciate her, along with other friends, people in my life, people here.
It was alright, I had untraditional Thanksgiving food so I guess I didn't celebrate in that way but I watched some holiday specials.
I'm awake til 5 am these days. Highlights: I used extra hours for homework once. Struggle: Hunger & appetite have been gone / easily ignored since Tuesday. Highlight: drinking green tea to increase energy, the crash makes me hungry. Struggle: eating (and craving) sugar, high fats, simple carbs to keep my weight up. Highlights: I'm fighting relapse! I have a friend's support. I feel very good at times, foggy brain at other times but I'm learning about my body so it's ok. Struggle: high stress. Highlight: allowed myself to feel, realized I was wallowing, so I channeled it into journaling and homework.
When I feel good (whether it's from sugar, caffeine, no sleep, between depressive episodes), I list things I love so I can revisit them. Doesn't help all my MDD episodes but might help someone else much more! So I thought I'd share. Anyway so far today's list is documentaries, the feeling of typing, fleece blankets, British accents.
@Lexloveslife
Hey there Lex.. good to see you stop by this week! Yes.. So true that this month has gone by so fast.. I felt like it was a "blink and you missed it". Its good that you are trying to positive about discoveries in your life and that you have friendships that are supportive to you during this time.
Its good that you managed to get in some Holiday specials for your Thanksgiving!... Thats a little bit of what we did as well. I like quiet yet festive holiday time.
Sorry to hear that your sleep still has you up late into the night/early mornings....Good for you for staying on top of homework and using some of that extra time on it. Its good that you were able to be productive and found some use in being up late.
Thats really great for you that you are "fighting relapse" and that you have the support of your friend to help you through. That can be difficult and challenging. So its great that you have the support that is so greatly needed and that you are feeling 'very good at times'....and that you were able to channel alot of that into journaling and your homework!
How great that you have positive and beneficial ways to help yourself by listing things you love and revisiting them later! Sounds like anyone could benefit from doing that. And perhaps someone else can or will?! (I do love fleece blankets and british accents!) lol...
You sound like you have been doing very well. I'm proud of you. Its good to see you this week! Thank you so much for taking the time to check in with us to let us know how you are doing. Please continue to keep us up to date on things.
@PoliteOcean This is how the past week went. Monday I had a session with my therapist. It went well. I talked about the transition from high school to college, which was very difficult because my dad moved to a small podunk town in the middle of nowhere.
Tuesday I went to the hair salon and got good haircut, not like at the chain shops or local barber.
Thursday was a weird day for me because I didn't get enough sleep. Friday I hosted my first sharing circle !
Yippee for me ! Friday night I got a call from my lawyer at 5 p.m., which is a strange time to call a client. I asked my girlfriend for her phone number and she said no. I'm still waiting for her to give me the reason why. She'll have to do it eventually, so she might as well do it now. I'm not cooking anymore, which I miss a lot. I'm taking my homeopathic remedy, but sometimes I still forget.
For this upcoming week, I have a therapy appointment on Thursday, and an appointment with my psychiatrist on Friday. I'm still trying to get on the right medication routine to fight against nightmares.
@Regmo
Hey there Regmo!..Glad to hear that your therapy session started your week off well and that you were able to talk about things that were difficult for you. And that you were able to finally get to the salon and get a good haircut!.. I'm sure that felt really good and you probably feel so much better physically as well. How awesome for you that got to host your first Sharing Circle! Wow!.. Wish I had known I would have stopped by!...Sounds like it went really well for you! I hope for you that things work out for you as far as your lawyer is concerned... Thats really strange that your girlfriend didn't want to give you her phone number. But you are right, she will eventually have to do it sometime soon. Especially if she is planning to visit you going forward. But, yes she should have given you a reason as to why she might not want to or why she might feel uncomfortable doing so. I hope that you are able to get back to cooking for yourself soon like you love to do. And hopefully all your appointments will go as planned for you this week ahead! I hope that you are able to get your medication situtated to help with your nightmares. That is certainly no fun.
Thank you so much for checking-in this week and letting us know how things are going for you. Please continue to keep us updated on everything! And how they are continuing to go!
Another week gone too fast ! This one has been a little tough, I can’t really identify why though… Work wise things are still busy and getting even busier. We’ve had a meeting though, so it was nice to sit down and discuss how things are going, there’s another one planned this week to talk about another part of the project, which should be helpful to plan where we’re heading.
I’ve been able to work out without having to force myself at all, so that was good! I’ll need to refocus on sleep though as it hasn’t been great. I feel like my anxiety levels are pretty high which could explain why sleep isn’t too good. I think I also have been feeling a bit down? Several things made me realise that I have troubles projecting in the future, even fear, which is probably what has been draining me and making me overthink and anxious. Hopefully next week goes better! Take care everyone!
@LinearWaves
Hey there Waves!~... I know right, Another week just flew right on by us again~ lol... Sorry to hear that this one has been a particulary tough one for you though. Its good that you were able to sit down and talk over things regarding your work. I'm all for work meetings when I find them to be "productive" ones. I hope that you found yours to be productive in moving forward?!
Thats great that you were able to get some working out in for yourself and that it didn't have to be "forced". I really dislike those days where I know I need to do it, or "should" do it, but then procrastinate. I think though for me, its all about doing things I like. Sometimes I don't have the option though and find I have to do something else I may not really 'want" to do. So thats where I have to force myself!
Sorry to hear for you've been feeling a bit down, that your sleep has gotten off track and that you are dealing with increased anxiety levels. I know personally how difficult and challenging all those issues can be, and how difficult it can make our personal lives feel mentally and emotionally..... And you're probably right about one going hand-in-hand with the other (anxiety and sleep).... Its tough to be walking in those situations and feelings and not be sure what to do about them. The only thing I realize is that when things get like that is to sit down with myself or a trusted person and really, truly evaluate all my emotions and try to figure out whats the next best step to take, or if I should just sit back and let things play out on their own.
I do hope that you find the upcoming week to be a better one for you!.. Please continue to keep us updated and let us know how you are continuing to do. We are here for you. Thank you so much for checking in this week!
@PoliteOcean
Thank you as always for taking the time to reply, always giving an encouraging and supportive answer <3
This past meeting has definitely been useful in determining some of the next steps, the next one should also be really helpful in another area! All the help/opinion/advice is always good to take, especially as I’m juggling between different topics!
Take care and thanks again!
The month of November could have been possibly the most horrible month of my life.
Thanksgiving I wasn't invited anywhere I didn't go anywhere and I didn't eat a morsel of food. It's more or less thanks for getting. I spent most of the day Thanksgiving sleeping and I spent all of it alone.
I'm looking forward to a new month... Looking pretty grim
@Ark27
Hey there..
So sorry to hear that the Month of November was not a very good one for you.... and that Thanksgiving was not the best.
I know this may sound cliche, but just know that we are here to listen and to support you in any way that we can and are able to do.
Its great that you are looking forward to this New month of December..... and know that 7CUPS will have plenty of activities starting Next Week to continue to keep everyone engaged. And to help everyone not feel so alone! I can surely attest that when I first came here a few years ago, that it totally helped to change much of my life at a very bad, stressful and challenging time. So we hope to see you during these events!
Thanks so much for checking in with us and letting us know how you have been doing. Please feel free to always stop back each week or daily if you wish, and keep us up to date on how things are going for you!
@PoliteOcean thanks for the reply , it really means a lot
