🌞 This past week was standard, & well.... Although I'm definitely Always glad to see the weekend come around again!~... Last weekend on Saturday, I got in my usual morning Zumba class to start the day... then afterwards hit the day running by catching up on plenty of errands, shopping at some of my favorite Nutrition stores, as well shopping for my New Patio for some possible new furniture (didn't find anything, but enjoyed looking!).., & even did some sight-seeing in our area as they are continually building something "New" here (what seems like everyday)?!... So we decided to see what all was new locally (& will be trying out a new restaurant this Saturday evening)~... Last Sunday was also the usual early Zumba class to start off the day, & then some outdoor time afterwards to enjoy the weather~
🌊 As the week started off, I got back on track with my usual work, intentions, goals, workouts/activities... The weather has continued to be warm & humid, with continuing June rains here in the late-afternoons & overnights. Which have also continued to make it challenging in getting things completed on the outside of my home, such as the usual lawn-care, as well as (including the pool area)... So I've been finding some calm moments, peace & joy very early on in the "quietness" of the mornings, by getting outdoors & walking with the Furbaby "before" getting the rest of my day started.... Which also continues to help avoid the later humidity & rains~ And as we enter Summer next week, the forecast looks even more hot & humid ahead!... I was having some minor-ish "back issues" recently which flared-up & were also affecting my workouts a bit as well as the comfort of my sleep at night... However, that situation thankfully improved this past week, as well as my Sleep goals as I met my quota 5 nights out of 7 so far~ And Hydration has been great as well with all the humidity~ So those were Wins as I continue in my personal June goals~... I'm also really looking into doing more "wellness" treatments to take advantage of such as (Redlight therapy, Cryo-Therapy, & more Massages) for body & mind (when I can fit them in)... Especially as I battled some aches/pains recently... (Which could've been from over-training, or just plain Age-related stuff)~
🏝️ This weekend ahead (With it being Fathers Day weekend), intentions are to get in an early Zumba class Saturday & home-workout Sunday to start off each day.... As well as simply enjoying the weekend, good food & family time... There's also a local Fathers day-type Festival on Sunday which we will take in & check-out before I go to my mom's home to visit with my Step-dad~
ENJOY THE WEEKEND~
@PoliteOcean
Hi, Ocean,
How are things going today & how was your week? .. Today was great. I slept a lot instead of going to the store to buy vodka. You know I'm an alcoholic and I still fight it a lot. I use the harm reduction method. I try to limit myself to having drinks on Friday, so when I wanted to sleep instead of going to the store to buy vodka, I was happy with myself.
My week was stressful as far as school goes. It is a stressful class because it's a short summer class. I can't wait until I graduate next May.
🌊 This is our "FIRST" Check-in for "JUNE"~ And this weekend marks the official "Halfway" point of the month already?!... This month is flying by~... As we come to the end of another week, What is something that you Felt good about, accomplished for yourself, brought you some joy or that you found peace in this past week?!
It was my birthday this past Tuesday and it was good. I didn't do anything but relaxed. I wished I had a friend to go to lunch with or go to the zoo or the horticulture gardens . But it was a good day, just relaxing and then attending school at night.
🏝️ As we enter the next week ahead, Many of us will soon say goodbye to Spring & Say Hello to Summer~ Let's take a moment & Create yourself a "Summer Bucket List" of Healthy things, ideas, actions, activities, goals etc... WHAT are some things you Could, Or Will, fill-up "Your" Bucket with for a great, healthy, & positive Summer season ahead?!
Keep working out, in fact, ramp it up a bit, keep studying Hawaiian, keep taking care of Chloe, keep getting lots of sleep, look for a job after my class ends. I can't remember what else.
🌞 JUST FOR FUN: As we continue to move through the last days of Spring & head into Summertime, we are still moving along with our 'Road-trip'! ... What is ONE "Driving Tip" that you think/feel or wish that EVERYONE should follow when you are driving?!
Don't drink or smoke and drive.
🌊 What were your "Highlights or Struggles" of the week?... How were you able to work through your Challenges in a Healthy Way?! Same as above.
@purpleTree4652 Happy Belated Birthday Tree. Keep up the great work on your others aspirations. I know you can do it.
@Regmo
Thank you, Reg! I sometimes think people don't see me, so it's nice when you noticed and gave me the Happy BD.
@purpleTree4652
Hey there Tree~ That’s awesome for you that despite a stressful school week, that you had a great day on Saturday!.. And even more amazing that you are sticking with your recovery in using healthier methods such as (rest when needed, harm reduction & limiting yourself where/when you can)! Wonderful job to you there and of course keep up the great work with those improvements! And wow you’re so close to graduating?!…, you may not feel it but time sure flew by there. And I know you are glad & grateful for It~
Happy belated Birthday 🎈.. that’s so great for you that it was a good one! Sometimes it’s just the little things that matter even if or when it’s not necessarily everything we desired or hoped for.. So it’s wonderful that you got a chance to “relax” on your day and considered it to be a nice one for yourself this year before having to go to school later in the night.
Ohh… I like your healthy summer bucket list! You’ve got some great things stored in there! Do you have an idea on how you would like to “ramp up your workouts” for yourself?! I know I asked before, but asking again… What type of movement or activity do you enjoy when working out?!
I love your check in Tree.. You sound much more relaxed (even despite the stressful school week)… but that’s ok as I know you are getting closer to the end there with that. And it sounds like the extra rest that you’ve been getting is going well for you & working!
Thank you for updating us on how your week went for you and checking in to share! Again Happy Belated Birthday 🎂 And please continue to let us know how things are going!
@PoliteOcean
Hi, Ocean,
I apologize for not answering your questions about working out. I love lots of types of exercises. I love to use little weights and do calisthenics, walking, running, swimming, and I just started pilates. I haven't been doing much working out, but I bought myself two bathing suits that have interchangeable tops and bottoms. And I just bought new leggings, all to use in the pool and the gym.
@purpleTree4652
Oh wow that’s awesome. You seem to like a good variety of things. Which is definitely a great way to switch up your workouts & have options.
@PoliteOcean Last Sunday I shaved and also filled out an online intake form for my podiatrist appointment. I really hate that. Monday I saw a alternative medicine practitioner who I worked with a long time ago. He's very effective. He used something called "Thought Field Technique". I've been wanting to see him for many years. The cost is $175 for 30 minutes but it was well worth it. I don't think follow up appointments are going to cost as much. The problem is that he doesn't give prices in advance. Tuesday I went to the podiatrist and as you already know, the appointment was a bust. Later in the week I rescheduled for July. Wednesday I went to the dentist l. Another appointment that I walked out on before seeing the dentist. The paperwork burden was excessive. I was there last year and alreadeay gave them my information. John left uneaten food in our bedroom overnight. I really hate that. Fortunately Leslie cleaned it up the next day. John is a great roommate. He doesn't snore, doesn't wear diapers and doesn't watch TV. I went to the library 3 times and went for a walk 3 times. Friday Gianna's car got towed at her apartment complex. I gave her the day off. I didn't have any critical appointments for Friday so it's okay. Gianna is a very responsible person so I know it wasn't her fault. Thursday night Amanda served a Chicken Pot Pie. I really hate those. I threw it in the garbage but didn't say anything. I had a few handfuls of unsalted peanuts for dinner. They taste good and are good for me but it's not a real dinner. Leslie likes playing these mind games with me to get under my skin. I try not to let it bother me but I still find it annoying. This past week I've been reading my theology book and "The Book of Disquiet" by Fernando Pessoa. It's very profound. I really like it a lot. I also worked on my discussion questions for "To The Lighthouse" by Virginia Woolf. For this upcoming week I have a massage scheduled for Wednesday. I really want to move out by August 30th but I'm not close to that. I really want to start my Certificate of Achievement in Art History in October. One thing I learned is that victims of narcissistic abuse need a lot of rest. I'm really far behind on a lot of things. I hope God doesn't delay my healing any longer. I'm really really bitter about being abused by Leslie, her family and the other residents.
@Regmo
Hey there Regmo~ Sounds like you had a good & productive start to your week by getting in a shave, seeing an alternative practitioner, & filling out your intake form… (I don’t like filling out paperwork either), but I suppose it’s a necessary evil as ppl like to say… But it sounds like seeing the alternative med doctor was a positive highlight for you despite the pricing. So that’s good news & a Win for you there… As far as the dentist goes, the only thing I can mention is that it’s definitely an important appt. for all of us. Dental issues they now more recently find can cause a host of heath concerns & matters when not dealt with. Things we aren’t even aware that teeth would even deal with or be a part of?!.. I know the paperwork can be a hassle, and if you completed it last year, they should have just asked you if anything changed and it should have been the end of it as that’s what mine does?!.. Which would be easier. Also if you need extra help or time in completing it, maybe you could return it at a later time or mail it in to them if you explain your situation to them?… Some will work with you on that. Also if you walked out, you might want to be sure that they don’t charge you some ridiculous No show fee. As some like to do that too… That’s good that despite a few flaws, that you are enjoying having John as your newest roommate. And it’s great that you were also able to get out for your walks & to the library despite the issues with Gianna’s car. And that she’s also still working out for you like you desire. And it’s also good that you are keeping up with your “snack-stock” just in case dinner isn’t as expected, as well as continuing to keep up with your interests… and also in continuing to schedule time for self care & pain management through massages. And day by day going forwards hopefully for you that you will find everything else starts to come into alignment with moving into your own place, getting your certificate and your continued healing. Thanks for checking in to share your week with us and keeping us updated. And Please continue to keep us posted on how things are going & moving along.

@PoliteOcean peace
This weekend was bitter sweet. I got to reconnect with my bf after he asked for space and we were about to go to our favorite Chinese restaurant only to find that it’s been shut down 😔
@PoliteOcean
This weekend, I did not get any self-care in, but I'm okay with that. Instead, I shopped, prepped, prepared, and cooked a huge meal for my son's first Father's Day. It was a great day to spend with my family, taking care of our grandson, cooking, helping my son and his family around the house, and just celebrating him being a first-time father. It was very special for us as a family. This week, I will take some time for self-care and love. Have a great day PoliteOcean.
@Mishka1599
Hey there~
Wow, it sounds like you had quite the productive weekend?! How wonderful for you that you got to celebrate your son in such a special way for his first Father’s Day. That’s definitely important! And surely a great reason to (“skip” the self care for now)~ Especially when there’s plenty of time to catch up on that after all the festivities!
Sounds like you had a wonderful time with your family, your son, and new grand baby! And it sounds like the perfect weekend :)
Thank you for sharing & checking in with us this week. And hopefully you can now rest up a bit and get that self care in! 😉… And please keep us updated on how you & (that grandbaby of yours) are doing!
