🌞 This past week was well for the most part... I started the weekend off Last Saturday with a morning Zumba class & then afterwards enjoyed some time at the Lake~ It was a beautiful day just watching & listening to the sound of the water~ And It felt so peaceful & calm... Afterwards, we went & did a little Father's Day shopping at the Mall (which I hardly ever go to as I don't like the Crowding) But found a few great finds!.. & Once home, had a great dinner & movie-night~.... On Sunday I managed to get in a quick 30-minute home-workout, & then we went on to a local indoor Father's Day Festival, went & got some Father's Day dinner afterwards, & then went on to visit my Step-dad & Mom in the later afternoon where we enjoyed some family time.....~
🌊 This past week it has become more humid & the temperatures this week are starting to pick up as Summer has entered the scene!... But I got back on track with my regulars of work, Fitness, & routines for the week.... As well got in plenty of more early morning Outdoor time & walks with the Furbaby before starting the day off, & of course beating that afternoon heat (& pop-up showers from the humidity)... But I kept up with, stayed on track & continued on in my personal June goals for myself which so far have continued on better than I was thinking.... Now that temps have increased, and the sunshine has picked up a little more, we've finally started to deal with getting the pool opened as well. I've never gone this late in the season with doing that, but Mother Nature had other plans~ But the upcoming week ahead will continue well into the "mid-to-upper 90's" all through the week 🥵.... So a personal mission is for that pool to be complete by the start of the upcoming week.
🏝️ This weekend ahead, my initial intentions to lounge in the pool after morning Zumba class won't be happening just yet, so... Instead, after Zumba, intentions are now to head out to the Lake again, Grab a picnic lunch at the Restaurant on the Lake, & enjoy the Sunshine, the water & this First Summer weekend~ And then wherever the rest of the day takes us afterwards....~ Sunday intentions are to get in my early Zumba class to finish up the weekend, & start the new week off, & then continue to work on the Pool afterwards as I get ready for the week ahead~ One which will not only include more Heat, but also various Follow-up appts, errands & such.~
Enjoy The Summer weekend~
@PoliteOcean
The pool sounds great especially after a zumba class. Sorry you couldn't get it opened yet, but It will be open soon and I'm sure you'll enjoy that!
@reservedOwl321
Awww thank you Owl. 😊… And yes it was a pretty hot 1st Summer weekend here, so the pool itself would’ve been great (& refreshing) lol... But I made do at the lake just the same. So can’t complain…
But I did manage to finally get it completed~ so maybe next weekend? If it doesn’t start raining again?!! 🤷🏻♀️🤦🏻♀️😂
@PoliteOcean Going back a week ago I finished reading "The Book of Disquiet" by Pessoa. It's very good and very deep. I went to the library three times and went for a walk four times. Wednesday I had a massage scheduled but when I went to the massage business they didn't have me on the schedule. They told me that the online booking app messes up sometimes. I rescheduled for Monday. I finished reading "Letters to A Stoic" by Seneca. It was very good. I hope I can read more Seneca in the future but I want to stick to reading for my literature discussion club. Thursday Gianna had the day off. Sifa is so rude to people. I really hate that. I can't wait to get out of here. I've been returning a lot of items to Amazon. I really hate that. I wish I could go to a brick and mortar store and look at books in person. Right now I'm reading "Lives of The Stoics" . I told Leslie I'm not going to eat chicken pot pies anymore. I never did like them. They are terrible food. Saturday morning John had to go to the hospital for internal bleeding. He will be fine. For this upcoming week I have a massage on Monday and a chiropractor appointment on Wednesday and therapy on Friday. Living without Stuart has been wonderful. I don't know why I had to go through that. People don't understand that when a person is disabled, life doesn't stop. There are critical things that need to get done. I bought a new theology book and I really like it.
@Regmo
Hey Regmo~ That’s great that you are keeping up with your interests by reading & finishing your books for your discussion club, as well as being able to get in 3 trips to the library….. also how beneficial for you that you have continued to get out & about often by getting in 4 walks in for the week. Great job there… That’s too bad about the massage, (the same thing happened to me with an appt that I scheduled online for a Cryotherapy session recently)… I know what a disruption that can be in trying to make & find the time to reschedule. As well as looking forward to something that you now have to reschedule also… But it’s good that you were able to make & get in another appointment sooner rather than later for yourself… It’s also good that you were able to discuss with Leslie your likes/dislikes in regards to the food selection. Hopefully for you that going forward it helps… And yes, no matter what people do or have going on in their lives whether it’s a disability or something else personal, life around us continues to move & go on.~ It sounds like you have a busy week ahead. I think that too can also be a comfort of sorts to some with disabilities is knowing that even with having or making various appts that it can help in getting out of the house, not being stagnant from day to day, getting to mix & associate with others, mix up routines a bit, and it can even give a sense of purpose as well. Hopefully you find that the week runs smoothly for you. Thanks for checking in to share your week with us and letting us know how things are going. And Please continue to keep us updated.
@PoliteOcean
What were your "Highlights or Struggles" of the week?... How were you able to work through your Challenges in a Healthy Way?!
I was sick last week, but am feeling a little better now. I dealt with it by not going to the gym and keeping from spreading it. I got lots of sleep, canceled appointments and it felt good to take long baths which helped me breathe better. In lieu of working out I tried to continue recording my calories. I am going to work on getting back on track this week.
@reservedOwl321
Hey there Owl 🦉! Lovely to hear from you this Check-in.
So sorry to hear that you weren’t feeling the best last week, but so glad for you that you are doing a little better now! I know it’s no fun in not feeling our best. As well it hinders us from things we may want or need to get accomplished for ourselves.... But it Sounds like you did what was best for you in order to start recovering and help your body to mend. Great job to you there in taking care of yourself by getting lots of rest, canceling anything that can always be rescheduled, taking long baths (which are amazing in recovery), and focusing on another area you could control in your day by counting calories,… & (as well as thinking of others wellbeing too by avoiding the gym)! That’s truly awesome of you. You have definitely put in all the work there in taking care of your overall wellbeing! Kuddos! 👏🏼
We wish you well and good health as you continue to recover… and also in your efforts to get back on track for the week ahead! You are doing great, and there’s no doubt that any smaller steps you take in getting there will continue to be both beneficial as well just as amazing as you have been in getting back there & doing what you love & enjoy! 👊🏼👍🏼💪🏼
Again great job, and Be well! And thank you for taking the time to check in to share with us & let us know how you are doing! Please continue to keep us updated!
@PoliteOcean
Hi, Ocean,
How are you doing today? .. I'm trying not to be stressed. My final is today and it is an oral exam. I chose the last appt for the day so my exam is at 7pm.
🌊 This is our "Third" Check-in for "JUNE"~... Friday was the First Day of Summer-time for many of us!... What are some Fun things you can do, plan, or enjoy for yourself this "First Summer Weekend" ahead?! I slept a lot. I've got mostly my final exam on my mind.

Peru...it just popped into my head.
🌊 What were your "Highlights or Struggles" of the week?... How were you able to work through your Challenges in a Healthy Way?! I'm just trying to stay calm for my final exam today. That is all that is on my mind.
@purpleTree4652
Hey Tree~
Sounds like your final exam is taking the front burner to your week….I know how any exam (even when you’re prepared), can cause a little stress or make you feel anxious… Good thing it’s not until late in the day and you have continued extra time to prepare. And I’m sure it will be well and once it’s over you can breathe a sigh of relief~
Good luck and best wishes on getting through it. And keep us updated on how things go.
Thanks for checking in to share with us this week.
