🍀 This past week was slightly less stressful than last week.... Last weekend started off per usual with Group fitness classes to start off the day both Sat. & Sun... Then Saturday was mainly spent wrapping up Birthday shopping to celebrate a double Birthday party for two loved ones... And on Sunday we came together for that Birthday party as I had a great time spending the day with my little Family celebrating~
🌈 As the week started off I got back on track for the most part with my usual schedule of things.. (Work, Fitness classes, Meal-planning & tracking etc..)... Sleep & Hydration weren't too terrible.... The weather here has been simply AMAZING throughout this past week, so I also got in Lots of outdoor time with the pup for walks. And just simply enjoyed the Sunshine, warmth & mild "Pre-spring" weather we've been having. Although some days felt like SUMMER!~ I also spent some time continuing with my "Pre-Spring" cleaning, changing out the winter decor to Spring decor, & just trying to "De-Winterize" my home~
🌤️ This weekend ahead, Many of the Festivals & Events are now starting to come back into full-force here~.... Intentions are to get in a morning workout on Saturday, and then Get out & about for the day to enjoy the weather, and some local events. On Sunday, intentions are to get in a Zumba class, & hopefully spend some time working on some "Outdoor Home projects" as we continue with this amazing weather.... And I'm greatly looking forward to the LONGER Day of Sunlight as we turn the clocks ahead that day. And also looking forwards to moving forward in my March goals in the Coming week ahead~
@PoliteOcean
The healthy food I refuse to touch is beetroot 😂
My week was tough, alot of appointments with my dad, long days, and nights, I had a crippling ear infection which meant zero sleep for me. So it was exhausting mentally trying to juggle it all and sometimes I have an awful dread I'm not doing enough for him and end up crying myself into a half sleep, looking forward to maybe a good fresh March where I might get some sunshine and fresh air and be lifted by the Spring colors 🤗🩵🌈
@Amanda84
Beetroot makes sense in that I see ppl “either love or hate them”!... It’s like there is no “in between” lol.. (However my mom makes some fabulous “pickled beets” at every holiday. And hers are pretty amazing lol..) … But they are also have some new healthy Beetroot “drinks”’on the market. I’ve never tried any brand though. Wonder how those would taste?! Maybe we could both try it and compare notes!! 😂😉🙃
You definitely sound like you had quite the challenging week (between your dad, appts, long days & not feeling the greatest).. And topped with interrupted sleep, that would all most certainly make for an exhausting time mentally, emotionally & physically.
It can be hard sometimes to not feel some doubts within ourselves when we are caring for another. In simply wondering if we are doing all that we can, or if we are doing are best to help. It can definitely be a dreadful feeling. And an emotional journey within. But your feelings are quite valid…. (Im a nurse who’s cared for many over time, including loved ones), and I can attest that it’s surely an emotional journey.
Taking time to simply care for yourself, your basic overall needs, your wellness in simple ways (like getting that sunshine & fresh air in that you mentioned), can definitely help! And Taking some time out for yourself to just “feel your feelings” & emotions can also help put things into perspective.
And our hope for you is that you are able to do those things. Because you deserve it. As always just know that we are here to support you at Cups. And it’s very appreciated that you take so much time to stop & help & care for others here as you are going through your own personal challenges! So again we see you, appreciate you, & are here for you! And we send you Virtual hugs your way! 🤗
Please continue to keep us updated on how things are going & how you’re doing. And take care of yourself~ 🙂 And thank you for checking in to share.
@PoliteOcean
Your kindness and beautiful words are a great support 🧡🤗
@PoliteOcean
How has this first week of the month gone for you?! It was rough. I withdrew from the job I was offered. There were so many problems. I couldn't take it anymore. I felt like I was having a nervous breakdown. So I'm not moving either. It was all too much for me.
🌈This is our "FIRST" Check-in for the Month "MARCH"~... As we've entered this 3RD Chapter of the year, What are you looking forwards to the most?.... Or what is something new that you feel inspired by, Motivated for, or Excited about this month ahead?! I'm looking forward to calming down after withdrawing from the job and moving. I want to get back to school and nothing else.
🌤️ This weekend ahead, Many of us will Turn our Clocks ahead "ONE Hour" as we get ready to "SPRING FORWARD"... How are you feeling about the change in time?... And how Or in what ways do you feel it will affect or impact your overall wellbeing?... I look forward to springing ahead. It usually cheers me up. We'll see how this year goes.
🍀JUST FOR FUN: What is ONE Food that is considered to be a "Healthy" food, but you Refuse to eat or touch it?! nothing I can think of
🌈What were your "Highlights or Struggles" of the week?... How were you able to work through your Challenges in a Healthy Way?! I've been trying to speak what is on my mind to people in my life and ask for help with the work situation. They helped me a lot.
I am having a problem accessing my chats. When I click on the chat page it is blank except for a white stripe along the top of the page. I've sent an email to support@7cups.com. I hope they can fix it. My listener is very important to me.
@purpleTree4652
Hey Tree~
It’s understandable that you decided to change your mind in regards to the new job offer... As I recall from your check-in last week, a lot of the things that you had to do all at once sounded very overwhelming for a short span of time?!
But in the end, you are the only one who has to live & deal with those choices & changes, so it sounds like you had to make a decision to do what was best for “You”. There’s nothing wrong with that. And it sounds like you feel more relaxed in the choice that you have made?... So if so, then that’s a good thing.
With that said, it’s great that you are looking forwards to a more calming time ahead this month, and that you’re also looking forwards to focusing on your continued schooling…. The Spring weather & lighter/longer days with the upcoming time change is also definitely something to look forwards to as well for those of us who love the Spring & Summer months.~ It’s also a great time to just simply feel good, refresh our minds & refresh the space & things around us. As well as simply focus on our wellbeing.
Good for you on learning to speak up for yourself by saying what’s on your mind & asking for help when & where needed. And that you feel it’s been helpful to you by doing so. Great job to you there. As well as reaching out to 7cups Support for help with your account. Hopefully they can get that matter resolved for you so that you can get back to chatting with your personal listener.
Even though things didn’t continue forward with the job & move, it definitely sounds like you’re at a peace about not having to go through the whole process. And that you made the right choice for yourself for the time being... And that you can continue focusing on the things you feel you need to at this time.
Please continue to keep us updated on how things are progressing forward for you. And how you’re doing. And thank you for Checking in to share with us this week Tree.~
@PoliteOcean I wrote a long entry but it wouldn't let me post. Here is a condensed version of what happened last week. Last Friday in February 27th. I severely overstrained my eyes filling out complaint forms against two previous caretakers. It causes me emotional distress that people who are supposed to take care of me drop the ball. I'm an easy person to take care of. Monday I spent an hour trying to make an appointment for a CT scan and still couldn't get it done. Tuesday I took a shower. Wednesday I saw my alternative medicine practitioner. Thursday I did my laundry. I found a spot in the bathroom where I could hide a bar of soap in a soap container. Leslie doesn't provide soap and it's a huge inconvenience to bring soap into the bathroom every time I want to use the toilet.
@Regmo
Hey Regmo~ Seems like some others here had issues posting or interacting on Cups as well. Sounds like some glitches must be going on. Hopefully they will get fixed… In regards to the complaint forms, I’m sure it isn’t always an easy thing in trying to find just the right person to be a caregiver/caretaker. In that one would have to place their complete trust in. And in this day & age it’s certainly not easy to fully & completely trust others... With that said, the fact also remains that nobody is perfect either. So we have to decide what faults or qualms of theirs we can be willing to accept? Which once again, isn’t an easy task. Perhaps making a pros/cons checklist of the things you are “willing”to accept (even if it’s a “fault/qualm”), as well as not accept, could help when you are doing your future interviews? (That’s if you don’t already have one of course). And in your interviewing process discuss those “unacceptable” things on your checklist with that person. And it could already be known upfront what you aren’t willing to tolerate… (And again that’s if you already haven’t tried something like this in the past)!…. That’s crazy that you spent so long trying to make an appt. But depending on who you are dealing with, I can attest that it’s not always the easiest process. But it also seems like you had quite a productive week in getting other matters done & taken care of. So that’s definitely a positive! It’s also good that you were able to find a spot for your soap! Hopefully you find in doing that, that it continues to work out for you going forward… Continue to keep us posted on how things are going & moving along. And thanks for checking in to share your week.
I took 4 days off work and bed rotted the entire time 😔 I feel shame. I'm recovering from a few years of burnout and I still relapse.
But I'm trying my best and I got a coloring book and I'm quite focused on being active here!
I'm working on getting promoted at work and helping my coworkers!
I'm trying to not lay in bed all day. Waking up early and sitting up to color and to practice therapy. Still trying to make friends 🌞
@SunshineJazz
Hello there Jazz 👋🏼
We’re sorry to hear that you feel bad about spending time in your bed for a few days during your days off... And your feelings are completely Valid.
I try to look at it as perhaps your body & mind might’ve needed that rest for your overall health & wellbeing? There’s nothing wrong with taking time for yourself to rest. And Sometimes our bodies just simply need that… Although I do know & realize that it can also make us feel unproductive sometimes. But “Burnout” is truly a real thing! And it sounds like getting that rest is what you needed?!
I think it’s awesome that you are feeling focused on being active here and that you got yourself a coloring book. How fun!
Also how amazing for you that you are working on a promotion! As well as helping your co-workers. I’m sure they appreciate it!
It sounds like you are doing a great job at working on yourself & trying to improve things for yourself as well. Waking up early, sitting up to color, working on trying to make friends, as well as practicing therapy are all truly important & wonderful things to work on! So continue to keep up the great work that you are doing. And We are here to support you at 7Cups!
We hope that you continue to keep us updated on how things are going for you. And that you continue to let us know how you are doing! Thank you for stopping by to share with us this week. 🙂
Awww thank you!!
I'm going to go home and eat a good meal and take my meds!
Reminder to all to drink and eat plenty! Even if you don't feel well!
Keep your roots watered!
@PoliteOcean
Quite simply he worst week I've had for some months, my ankle continues to be a niggly concern impacting on my fitness routine and missing the endorphins causing me to feel at odds with myself and just out of sorts.
Taking a breather from Cups, as I was spending too much time looking and hoping for interactions. Re-reading an old favourite novel, Kafka On The Shore by Haruki Murakami, struggling a little as eyes tired from working nights but I will get to the stormy sections where the fish drop from the skies.
2 night shifts to endure then I'm going to start a 10+ km a day sreak again, ankle be dammed, it will either fix or break it but I needed it psychologiclly.
@RunningMachine
Hey there~
Sorry to hear that you’ve been continuing to have some issues & ailments that are working against you. I Can understand first-hand how it feels to physically be separated from doing the things you like, desire, and need to do physically because your body doesn’t want to cooperate!… (Which in turn impacts the mental & emotional aspects). So I totally get it.
It’s Good that in the meantime you are making ways to attempt to do other things that you enjoy, while also giving yourself a break where needed.
Nightshift is definitely another ballgame, I personally did that shift for many years.. But if you only have 2 more to go, that’s a good thing. And hopefully for you, that you’ll see the improvement that you’re waiting for, & can get back into that “streak” of doing what you love, need & enjoy.
Continue to keep us posted on how things are going for you. And we’re glad to see you checking in this week! Thank you for sharing with us.~
@PoliteOcean
Thank you, I'll bounce back in time, learn a lesson, you can't help everyone.
