🌞 This past week was status-quo... Last Saturday was enjoyed as I first got in my early morning Zumba class to start off the Long Holiday weekend... Then spent the rest of the weekend enjoying getting out & about, the continued Milder weather, shopping, movie-nights, & ended with a nice small BBQ & relaxation on Monday's Labor Day Holiday before starting off the rest of the week.~

🌻 As the rest of the week went on, I got back on track Tuesday with my regular things (work, Group Fitness classes, plenty of Meal-planning & tracking, Hydration & Sleep goals), & Walks with the Furbaby as the nicer, milder weather continues.~ It's been great to be back on track so far this month & feel in control of my choices... (As last month in August it was a little more challenging to stay the course with so many personal as well as special family events)... But they were ALL enjoyed well-spent... And now I'm looking forwards to being on track this month & meeting my personal September goals...~ This month will also start a Plethora of Fall Festivals & Events here as we get ready to move through this season, & last quarter of the year... Which also includes several huge Fitness events that I look forwards to going to every year.~

🌞This weekend ahead, I have no major plans (coming off of our Holiday week here),... But intentions are to get in an early Saturday morning Zumba class to get in those steps & activity to start off the day & weekend... And then a mix of a little Self-care time, Self-improvement time, a little September organization, an errand or two, maybe a little "Pool-time" (if weather permits before this season ends)... & then a little relaxation at home before starting off the new (& another Busy) week ahead~

ENJOY THE WEEKEND~

@PoliteOcean My life is a lot better than it used to be but this past week was difficult. Sunday I took a shower. It was an ordeal as always. I've been keeping my socks and underwear in a suitcase for the past 6 years. Monday I shaved. Gianna told me that Friday September 12th is going to be the last day working for me. The reason is that I live too far away and I don't give her enough hours. I'm hoping this is going to be similar to the previous time where she said she was going to quit but didn't go through with it. I was upset all day. Later in the evening I re-connected with a long lost friend from high school on social media. Tuesday Edna was being rude and obnoxious. I was worried she was going to fink on me to Leslie. Fortunately that didn't happen. Wednesday I had 3 episodes of diarrhea. It wasn't food poisoning I think it was something that disagreed with my digestive system. Thursday I just kicked back and relaxed. I discovered a new kind of therapy called polarity therapy. The good news is I don't have to pay an arm and a leg for an intake. I hate doing intakes. Friday morning Sifa said something that upset me all day. Friday night Leslie forgot about dinner so I had to make myself a peanut butter sandwich (no jelly) for dinner. For next week I have a massage scheduled for Monday. (I skipped last weeks massage). Then on Thursday I have an appointment with my alternative medicine practitioner. This past week I read some Greek mythology. I bought a book on Neoplatonism and Christianity. My shoulders are killing me.

Hey Regmo~ That’s good that you feel that things are going better for you more recently, despite the past week… It’s good that you were able to shower & shave. I’m sure that felt refreshing… That’s too bad about Gianna. But yes, hopefully she will change her mind like last time.. But it’s understandable that it was upsetting news nonetheless… How nice that you were able to reconnect with a past friend. Hopefully you find the rekindled friendship to be helpful… Thats good that you were able to find out about a different therapy. I’ll have to look into that one, can’t say I have heard of it before… It sounds like overall it was a slower-paced & more relaxed week for you. But looks like the week ahead will hold more for you to catch up on… Continue to keep us updated on how things are going, & Thanks for checking in to share your week.

@PoliteOcean Leslie told me this morning that I have to let the other caretakers abuse me. Rich people are more important than poor people. I worked hard on my career so I could have a good life. I'm not allowed to have people come over to see if they want to work for me. Leslie doesn't have a rule about that but there is no place for them to sit. The living room is noisy and there is a lot of commotion.  Leslie expects me to let the whole household listen in on my private conversation. She said I can interview people in my bedroom. I said that is too much of an invasion of privacy. She said that is none of her business.  She says I don't pay her ***. My perspective is that she doesn't do what I pay her for. She is living in a fantasy world and it's harming my recovery.  I'm getting increasingly agitated about going to the kitchen to get my instant coffee 4-5 times a day because it's a psychological obstacle course. It sucks the life out of me. Her ineffectiveness has caused me to spend a lot of money on things I can't afford.

Sounds like you may need to continue with your prior thoughts on looking for another place to live/stay… There are resources that can help with placement if you know where to go/look/ask… Seeing as how you already have a social worker, starting there with them might be the best option first. It’s their job to make sure things are being taken care of the proper way. Especially when there are those in situations where they cant do it for themselves…. I’ve mostly worked with minors who’ve had social workers, which made it a little more challenging.. but with you being an adult, it’s easier to voice your complaints, agitations, & issues of the household that you should be having your basic needs met in… Which again, a social worker should be able to help with better placement if that’s not happening. .,. With that all being said, other options that you mentioned previously, were to continue to save the money that you are receiving as much as you are able to... And Possibly build a nest-egg for yourself, to help in preparation to move forwards and possibly be in your own place at some point? And maybe with a possible full-time caregiver that can provide all your services needed? I know there’s more to it than that, but starting to save up, and cut back on anything unnecessary might help you to feel more confident about that prospect going forward? And of course talking with the proper channels to help the ball rolling to get you there..

@PoliteOcean

I approach “Self-Improvement Month” by:

  • By being physically active, I have a more active lifestyle. I do physical movement through regular walks, stretching, or a consistent exercise routine every day. This boosts my energy levels while also reducing stress, leaving me feeling invigorated and ready to tackle the day.
  • Devoting time daily to reading, learning, or practicing mindfulness and meditation, I keep my mind sharp and present. This fosters a sense of intellectual curiosity and engagement, which are crucial for personal growth.
  • By being emotionally active, I find ways to cultivate self-compassion and be mindful of my self-talk. I replace criticism with encouragement. I can also promote emotional balance and resilience.

By being spiritually active, I spend quiet moments in nature, journaling, or meditating to feel more grounded and connected to the natural world, fostering a sense of belonging and connection.

By being financially active, I review my spending habits daily, set small savings goals, and make intentional money decisions. I can foster a sense of security and success.

For me, the most significant focus would be on emotional growth. I have been learning to pause before reacting, honoring my feelings without judgment, and nurturing healthier ways of connecting with myself and others.

As many of us wrap up these remaining  Summer days ahead, WHAT is the Weather like where you are today? And WHAT is your Thermostat set at right now?

I live in "Four Seasons Michigan", so the weather here fluctuates daily. My thermostat is currently off until winter.

It certainly sounds like you have a great grasp on how & where to place your focus on “Self-improvements” in each area of your life!... (And not only for this month of September), but also in continuing to go forward in your overall well-being daily… And how great for you that you have outlined details for yourself on how you are going to go about it all..

Wonderful job to you there on creating those goals & taking those steps…. Each step takes & gets you closer to succeeding in what you desire to accomplish for yourself.

…I was born & raised in the Northeast, (even though I’m no longer there), I definitely know what this time of year can be like with weather fluctuations… So I can only imagine that it’s quite similar in Michigan as well!

Thanks for checking in this week to keep us updated & sharing your amazing & detailed goals! Continue to keep us posted on how things are going.
