Summer Check-in!
Hi, I'm Cassie, and I am the new Forum Supporter for Hobby Zone.
I have lots of hobbies so it felt like a natural progression for me to stand up here and join the forum team. I want to get to know you all and to share our hobbies so that we all enjoy tips and tricks and ways to get the best from our hobbies whilst trying to make sure we slim down the costs! Cheap or free hobbies are welcome here so share with us.
Run in and share with me what you love to do, or what you are doing right now 😂

Do you have summer hobbies? Or winter hobbies, I guess really just seasonal hobbies lol?
How do your hobbies make you feel? Peaceful, happy, content?
Do they let you think, or do they let you THINK about things that you don't want to?
@CocoaCassie
Hiya Cassie, nice to meet you and congratulations on your new role ❤️
I tend to find my hobbies fully take shape in the winter, as I find I’ve more time. I close the curtains, get settled and start my crafting. I do complete some of it in the other months but find with nice weather, I want to go out more. Also I’ve got a couple of dogs who love nothing better than going for a long walk but not so much when it’s cold.

Congratulations Cassie. Welcome and all the best in your new role!!
I love to play music - my guitar and write songs if I feel inspired enough. I also love to write and journal. My journaling hobby has literally saved me from myself. It’s by far proven to be the most rewarding hobby that I have ever pursued.
I am huge supporter of journaling! I also resumed writing my screenplay. It’s coming along well. I have 3 episodes down. It looks good. Hopefully y’all get to see it on a screen in this lifetime 😁😉
@courageousPup5706 Thank you, I love journalling too, I try and write every day, what about you?
I do the same. I write almost everyday. Else I would loose my sanity. It’s a grounding exercise that I love to do.
@courageousPup5706 Yes, I agree, it does feel grounding.
Do you choose your pen/pencil and book carefully, what do they look like?
@CocoaCassie
Yes, most definitely, it’s my favourite part to choose the right pen and journal book. My current book has multiple sections
Gratitude section - 3 things you are grateful for today
Reflections of the day - Which includes - Things your proud of, the best thing that happened today, your challenges, your learning’s, reflections and what you’re looking forward to the next day
Emotions - A place to let out what you are feeling inside and what caused you to feel that way and is it good to feel it, etc
Then there is a one pagers of various topics - Your priorities, your ambitions, your values, your childhood, your traumas, your achievements, your inner work journey, etc
Then there are some blank pages for free writing
How does your journal look?
@courageousPup5706 A Mess! But you have given me some ideas there.
We should start a thread or two about each topic section?
I do choose nice pens, and recently I have tried the erasable ink ones.
I have simply dozens of pretty books now, each one has to be secured with elastic, ribbon or a colorful rubber band.
Oh that’s a great idea. A thread on all the good elements to go into your journal!!
Oh I’m a sucker for book closures I even had a small lock on my books when I was in my teens!! Erasable Ink ones eh? I’m going to look that up!!
