Loom blankets
I am currently knitting a new blanket. I'd like to keep pictures of the evolution of the blankets as they grown.
Here is a picture of it on my loom right now. This yarn worked up like this and it's so cute.

I'm confused by the loom though, it reminds me of a hobby I did on a smaller scale as a kid. Doesn't it end up linking the ends? Like a sleeping bag that's been cut out on the bottom.
Do you just have it be double thickness, doing so sort of finishing? Or is it meant to be like a burrito blanket? Or maybe I'm just confused and ir makes a typical rectangular blanket.

It would connect if you used all of the pegs :) You have to skip your last peg to keep it open. The loom makes a 60 inch blanket, roughly the same width as a queen size blanket. It is a one-sided flat panel, but there is a way you can make a slightly smaller blanket that is double knit, front and back. Nice and thick. You just wrap your yarn a different way. :) I have other looms, but nothing makes up a project like this one.
@TovaCares76 Everything I did was circular, otherwise it would have unraveled. So I'm guessing some special loop is done at the last peg?

With the regular yarn, I had to wrap the yarn around the last peg and secure it with a stitch marker so the yarn wouldn't unravel on me. This you just hook the last loop you've made and it stays in place!
That's the cool thing about this yarn. It's thick and fuzzy and doesn't unravel off the loom like your regular thinner yarn does. It also works up nicely without having to do special stitches at the ends. You get to the last peg, hook your loop, then start spinning the yarn around the loom again to the first peg, hook it, then go to the last peg and start moving loops again.
My first blanket is queen sized and made with that "regular" #4 yarn. It took 4 months lol but I have it!
My first full queen sized blanket. I had different stitches done on the borders of this one, because when you use this thinner yarn, the blanket just rolls as you make it unless you do borders, and even then it can get weird.
I was still working on the blanket when I could cover myself with it lol
This was a bed runner I made to lie across the bottom of my bed, and I made this on a straight loom. It's double sided, so very thick. Very easy to make!

Oh that thing makes me mad. That line in it is my only mistake and I have to hide it on the less visible side of the bed lol
I took a closeup picture when I made this lap blanket for my son to show the yarn I used. It's primarily used for making stuffed animals ("teddy bear yarn") and I made a blanket from it from the long loom. His computer room is in the basement and always cold, so I wanted him to have something warm to wrap his lap in while he was doing schoolwork. 
This is the same yarn I am using now, only 90's Vibe colors. This blanket was my first "gift" blanket and I was soo nervous giving it to my sister for her birthday. Then I went over to her house, and she had it on her couch. I was so happy :)
It reminds me of an anime movie I watched years ago,it gives the same warm and lovely vibe lowkey

Here you can see where the starting peg is, and where my last peg is. The second picture shows the side of the blanket that is open. This is the only tricky part. You have to know how to keep your tension loose so these don't tighten up and you have a puckered blanket at the end :)
This is the first person I saw doing this. I saw her videos and thought okay...that's something I need to try.
