Learning other languages. Foreign or programming...either kind is useful.
Ive always been fascinated by singing... but no id never do it because really my voice doesn't sound good at all when I sing..
I'll always remain in awe of good singers. ..they have a gift.
Learning different musical instruments, learning foreign languages, photography, rubik's cube , skateboarding, freestyle singing , drawing, poetry, chess etc-
also stand up comedy

@genericbeing same lol, I remember trying to do that some years ago, on a shop and ended up tripping but still, it's nice to see people filming while skating they make it look effortless 💨
@fossilfellow Skatings more a talent than a skill, some people just really have it and others can't learn it no matter how long they try
@genericbeing yep, some people are naturally talented and have a good physique for skating, while someone who isn’t used to it might need much more practice, persistence, and time to learn those skills by comparison 🤍
@jesusredeemedme2425 i once met someone who builds miniature haunted houses, like full on spooky mansions with lights and tiny furniture and fake cobwebs. not for kids or anything, js because they love horror and tiny things apparently. I thought that was so weirdly cool. i'd never do it, more like never be able to do it, but i think its rlly cool.

Wow, there are so many cool hobbies! I'm sure I couldn't pick just one to be the "coolest".
The previous post about the mini haunted houses reminds me of this: I recently watched a documentary about a guy who builds model train layouts. Some of those things take years to create, with all the minuscule details, they look soooo realistic!
My favorite hobby (in this moment) is gardening, particularly building an epic butterfly garden to attract all sorts of pollinators to my yard.
I agree that learning other languages is pretty cool.
Other cool hobbies that come to mind include:
Anything artistic or creative
Creating big outdoor sculptures from rusty spare parts
Building giant LEGO statues
Creating stop-motion animation videos
Learning to play any musical instrument
Building musical instruments
Needle felting (also knitting and crocheting)
Quilt making
Volunteering (I think volunteering can count as a hobby ;) )

I have tried self binding and hasn't quilted but yet to try a bigger one.

I have been doing photography since 1980.
Developing my own film and photographs still fascinates me.
Is it hard?

Not at all. You can start with very little invested and work you way up to better equipment over time. My very first camera was a Minolta X370. I still have it along with 3 others of the same model.
The most expensive part will be the darkroom but can be done cheaper by shopping around for deals.
@courageouspanda2006 I think it's fantastic that there's a whole stratum of photographers who keep film going. Sure, digital is way more capable & convenient these days...but convenience & modernity aren't everything. Film photography seems like more of a craft.
(Admittedly since I work wood with hand tools that are mid-19th-century tech at the latest, I'm pretty biased)

I consider digital more "imaging" than photography.
I also do woodworking but only small projects. My Grandfather was so talented and would be very large shoes to attempt to fill.
