Trust - a Core Value
Trust is the foundation upon which Inner Development Goals (IDGs) are built. When we trust ourselves, our abilities, and the process, we open ourselves up to growth, learning, and transformation. Trust allows us to be vulnerable, take risks, and step into the unknown, while also being discerning and setting healthy boundaries. Trust, for me, is about my ability to define goals and my capabilities to achieve them.
Self-trust is like the foundation of a strong building – it holds everything together. As we cultivate trust, we become more resilient, adaptable, and confident. We are better equipped to navigate life's challenges and uncertainties, and we're more likely to achieve our goals. Trust also enables us to form deeper connections with others, fostering a sense of community and support in a way that feels authentic and sustainable.
Questions for you:
What's one area in your life where you would like to build more trust – is it trusting yourself, others, or the universe?
How do you think developing trust in this area could impact your Inner Development Goals?

The area I need to work on most, is trusting in my own instincts and capabilities and not looking for affirmation from other people 🥰

Questions for you:
What's one area in your life where you would like to build more trust – is it trusting yourself, others, or the universe?
I would choose trusting the process. Not just in myself or others, but in the unfolding of things I can’t fully control. It’s easy to cling to certainty, but trusting the process means allowing space for uncertainty, mistakes, and detours to still carry meaning.
How do you think developing trust in this area could impact your Inner Development Goals?
Impact on Inner Development Goals:
Inner Compass (IDG domain: Being): Trusting the process strengthens alignment with values, even when outcomes aren’t immediate.
Resilience (IDG domain: Self-awareness): It helps me adapt when plans shift, seeing challenges as part of the journey rather than failures.
Connectedness (IDG domain: Relating): It deepens relationships, because trust in the process often means trust in others’ timing and growth too.
Courage (IDG domain: Acting): It empowers risk-taking, since the focus shifts from “perfect results” to “meaningful steps.”
In a way, it’s like standing in a river: you can’t control every current, but trusting the flow allows you to move with strength and grace rather than resistance.

This is a core value often not talked about enough. Thank you for making the post!
I find that trust has two components, trust in yourself and then trust that things will work out.
@wonderousApple741 I’d like to build more trust in myself, especially when it comes to making big decisions. I overthink a lot, and it holds me back sometimes. Strengthening that self-trust would probably help me move forward with more confidence and stay committed to my goals without second-guessing everything.
Building self-trust is like building a muscle; you gotta start small and work your way up. One thing that might help is to start practising self-compassion, like being kinder to yourself when you do make mistakes (and you will, we all do!).
