Conformity
Tw: Thoughts, Open Discussion/ Questions/ societal standards
Goodmorning everyone, it's phoe with another deep conversation this morning! Today I would like to Discuss Conformity, when Conformity comes to mind what does it mean to you? For me, Conformity is the belief that you have to live up to a certain standard or depiction that others' envision you as. This topic takes up all spots of section 5 and some of section 1.
In today's society, we face a lot of exclusiveness when it comes to certain things primarily our natural foundations. When I say natural foundations, I do not just mean looks or appearance, I mean where our hearts are placed, likes, dislikes and so on so forth. The reason why there is so much lash back in every new generation is because the generation before it has some from of suppression.
I do not say this lightly, because it can be heavy but this is something not brought up enough in day to day living. Suppression is hard to deal with and it's normal if you are or your loved ones are dealing with a form of this in anyway, and is very valid. Conformity makes it hard for those to release who they truly are out into this world, because the world is a hard place.
I say this because the world and the society ran within it is hard to be taken for who you are as person within, and not without. Society basis everything on external factors and never internal factors, which create a lot of havoc for many. Conformity is one of those hard things because you are either excluded for being you or included for being the fake you.
Questions:
1. What is an experience you have faced suppression and conformity?
2. Why do you feel that each generation has it's own version of suppression?
3. How do you feel after reading this?

1. What is an experience you have faced suppression and conformity?
-> The things you have said i can completely relate to it. whether we see it or not suppression and conformity will happen as it is ingrained in our ancestor evolution I believe. I do have experience with suppression and conformity biases. It happens mostly during childhood to early 20's. Mostly because during that time there are lots of changes and exposures to dynamic situations. Eventually, I figured it out and now it's easier to regulate minor suppressions.
2. Why do you feel that each generation has it's own version of suppression?
-> According to me the world is always in transition. that's the simple explanation I tell myself when I see generational issues.
3. How do you feel after reading this?
-> The post is amazingly crisp and clear and definitely thought-provoking. Thank you for sharing 💗

Hey Phoe,
@InsightfulPhoenix
1. What is an experience you have faced suppression and conformity?
I get a lot of negative unwanted attention purely for the way I look, including things outwith my control. It's been like that since I was child.
2. Why do you feel that each generation has it's own version of suppression?
Different ideology. It goes against what they were brought up to believe during their time in education, by peers, and family members. A lack of understanding, misconceptions, and research may also play its part.
3. How do you feel after reading this?
A lot of these posts are making me realise how much more understanding people are than society makes you believe. I love to see others points of view and experiences. It helps me to understand others just that little bit better.
