Setting Boundaries✨

I sometimes struggle with setting boundaries because I worry it might hurt someone’s feelings or come across as unkind. Finding that balance between caring for others and protecting my own peace is definitely something I’m still working on.

How do you balance being kind to others with also setting boundaries for yourself?

@Xaiyaa5

I find this so difficult!

So I empathise .

I want to be there for people and to be as strong and as caring as I can, often leaving myself with less time, less sleep, less energy, neglecting my own needs, it not only leads to burn out, stress and resentment, but also pressure, so boundaries are vital, they take patience, practice and consistency 💜💕

In the past, setting boundaries has been hard for me, but since I have had a few toxic people in my life, setting boundaries has helped me tremendously. I had to cut them out of my life for my own sanity.

I relate to this so much. I’ve also struggled with feeling guilty when setting boundaries, especially with people I care about. Lately, I’ve been reminding myself that boundaries don’t mean distance; they just protect my peace. Saying “no” kindly is something I’m learning to be okay with.

I also struggle with this, so I understand where you're coming from. I think it's important to remember that boundaries are an act of kindness towards yourself. So while you may think that having them seems unkind towards others, it's actually just a way of protecting yourself, and ignoring them only hurts you. It can be a fine line at times when we feel the need to put others first, but it's important to prioritize yourself as well. :)

@Xaiyaa5 I can relate to this so much. I sometimes struggle with setting boundaries too because I don’t want to upset anyone or seem selfish. What helps me is reminding myself that saying “no” or taking space doesn’t make me unkind—it actually helps me show up better for others when I’m not overwhelmed. I try to be honest and respectful when I communicate my boundaries, and I’ve found that most people actually appreciate it. It’s still a work in progress, but I’m learning that protecting my peace and being kind to others can go hand in hand.

It’s hard for me to set boundaries because I care so much, but I’m learning that caring for others doesn’t mean neglecting myself. Saying ‘no’ or taking time to rest isn’t unkind but an act of love toward myself. I deserve the same protection, compassion, and patience that I give to others. Boundaries aren’t barriers, they’re bridges to healthier relationships.🫶
