What are your analogies on life? This is mine…
Often times we tend to blame ourselves for the past. Blame ourselves for the life we had or say we could have controlled more things then we did or should have known better. I myself find that I am often guilty of this practice. One of the things that often helps me see life in another light is thinking of it as a card game.
When we start life we can’t control who, or what happens around us. Almost like the cards you get dealt in a game. Random and unpredictable. But we are not stuck with these cards only, we can always gain cards and swap out cards as well, or even loose them.
As our game goes on we get more cards, they are often unpredictable although sometimes we can make a guess or have a strategy of how to get the best card, but we still never really know. And that’s alright. We try our best on the knowledge we know.
But as we go through life we learn more, learn better strategies for this game we call life, learn more about the players we are working with or even against.
In card games we also sometimes get help from others, that teach us how to get better at the game, and sometimes we even seek our people to help us get better at things we don’t know the best, and that is totally okay. We often see ourselves do this with games or new ideas so on, so in change life should go that way as well.
Although life is a lot more complicated then simply a card game I’ve found this idea has helped me a lot, and I hope this idea helps you. If even of you have similar ideas of life or even different outlooks all together please share, I love hearing other outlooks!

Hiya Astra, nice to meet you. I admire your posts in the forums, with your great insight, and lots of food for thought for others haha.
I like the analogy you shared about the card game, it be true and some popular quotes come to mind, "don't show all your cards at once", most people use it mostly in a "shrewd" kinda way, but I equate it with vulnerability and personality~ it is okay to take time opening up, letting someone in, being vulnerable with them, a place where they see us for us.
Either way, I really enjoyed your thought process and I see it the way you do. It's alright to keep making the most of what's in front of us, and doing the best with whatever little/ limited means and knowledge we have in a particular moment.
I'd like to add along the lines, it's usually frowned upon to change an opinion or say something and then say something different later, while I agree that being authentic, truthful, sticking to what's been said and committed to really speaks about the integrity and honesty with what someone holds themself accountable, but in many situations, it's okay to deviate or say something new or even change an opinion if there's some new information presented or if there's a coherent need to evolve and adapt. In some of these situations, it wouldn't make enough sense to keep holding onto something even if it no longer means/ feels the same. Sort of like, with new cards, we can always change the game! 😮
Again, thankyou for initiating this discussion!❤
@Astraeuss great work presenting your thoughts!
The key is always perspectives and our perception. We must remember that life is a game but it is a unique game for all of us, so only we learn how to play it. Don't let other forces distract you from your pace. As you say, our experiences will involve ups and downs but at the end of the day, it is the insight we gain and the strengths we define that highlight our journey: there is no failing, if we keep on trying. Every step has new adventures (and new challenges), and we can use support to keep growing as we grow through each level 🦋
@astraeuss, what a beautiful, rich, and meaningful metaphor! Thank you for sharing this with our community. I love how it captures the uncertainty in life and how there are things we can control and things we cannot control. And also the idea that we can lean on others for help to learn how to play the cards that we do have better! (very appropriate to our work here) and last the beauty of sometimes just letting cards go. We don't need them any longer.
Thank you! ✨
